Lisa was hesitating, just then Augustus held her wrist and pulled her to sofa. Lisa got panicked and asked, “What are you doing.?”
Augustus touched her forehead and then held her left arm to see the swelling because of injection. Lisa frowned, when he touched the swelling wound.
Augustus got frustrated and he spoke in a serious tone, “Which Bastard dare to inject you? Tell me..!” He demanded.
Lisa got frightened by seeing him so furious, she has never seen him like that before. She can see his veins bulging on his forehead. She lowered her head and didn’t dare to say anything.
Looking her quietly sitting, Augustus got more frustrated. He stood up and walked back and forth and rubbed his temples to calm himself.
After a while, he said “The man who injected you, wanted to rape you. Do you know that?” He asked her through gritted teeth.
Lisa nodded without looking up at him.
“Thank God, I found you. Otherwise you would be sleeping with any random guy on the street.” His tone was sharp and there was a hint of displeasure in it.
Lisa looked up and stared at him angrily.
“What? Don’t believe me. Look this..” he said revealing the mark on his neck. Lisa’s eyes widened. Did she did that?
“Last night, you pounced at me crazily. It was me who refused you because I am not a lowly man to take advantage of a drugged woman. Do you know how hard it was for me to keep myself sober.?” He asked leaning closer to her.
Lisa leaned back on sofa keeping some distance.
“I am sorry, Mr. Augustus. I have caused you trouble. I should leave now. Thank you for everything.” With that, she tried to get up but next moment Augustus held her shoulders and pinned her down on sofa.
“I am not finished. Who was that man at Hotel? Did he inject you?” He asked.
Man, Hotel, she remembered Daniel had dinner with her last night.
“That… That’s my brother, Daniel. Yesterday was my birthday so we celebrated at the Hotel.” She explained him.
By hearing this, Augustus calmed down and loosen his grip on her shoulder. He sat beside her and said, “Well, Happy Birthday then.”
“Thank you” Lisa said in a low voice, she was a bit terrified of him.
Next moment, Augustus mood changed instantly and he said, “Last night, I helped you from being raped. How are you going to thank me? Hmm?” There was a faint smirk on his face.
“How do you want me to thank you.?” Lisa asked confusingly.
“Well, I ask for it when the time will come. What about being friends? Let’s be friend.” He said domineering stretching his arm for her to shake.
Lisa got nervous and dumbfounded. She was sitting at his home how can she refused him? Augustus’s face darkened . He sneered, “Forget it” withdrawing his hand just when Lisa shook it. “Okay, be friends.”
Augustus was stunned for a moment. Then he shook her hand with more strength. He could not hide his excitement. He stood up and said, “Wait here.”
Lisa looked at him puzzled. One time he was as evil as a devil and other time he was as cute as a child. Rich people are weird, seriously.
She sighed heavily, and waited for him. Suddenly lights went off. She got up instantly in fear and called Augustus.
She looked towards the door and a man came in with a cake lighting up with one candle and sang, “Happy Birthday, Lisa.”
Lisa saw that tall man approaching her with a cake. She felt warm in her heart. How can this man always got to touch her heart so deeply?
Augustus placed the cake on table and switched on the lights. Lisa was smiling, her eyes were teary.
Augustus frowned. “What? Blow the candle.”
Lisa hugged Augustus and said in a low voice “Thank you” then she turned around and blow the candle and cut the cake. They both ate cake and chatted happily.
After an hour, Augustus excused himself. He has to go out for a party at club. He wanted to refuse to spend more time with Lisa but it was strictly ordered from his mother to attend.
Augustus came out wearing turtle neck white shirt with green coat and pants. Lisa glanced at his neck and understood, he was just trying to hide the mark. She blushed shyly at the thought of this.
Augustus caught her smiling and asked, “Something funny?” Lisa’s smile froze. She looked at him and said guiltily, “Sorry to trouble you.”
Augustus waved his hand, “Well, I would love to get this trouble daily.” He said smiling evilly and walked to the door.
“Mr. Augustus, wait.” Lisa shouted from behind.
He turned around and looked at her with confused look.
“Can you drop me home on your way.?” She asked.
“Home..” Augustus repeated.
“I am fine now, Can I get my clothes back?” Lisa asked innocently.
“No, those clothes were dirty. You can’t get it back.. Never..!” Augustus said stubbornly, “And by the way, you are not going to that place again. I will arrange a new house for you in some time.” He said in a serious tone.
“No..!” Lisa rejected immediately.
Augustus raised an eyebrow and looked at his watch, “I am getting late, I’ll leave first.” By that, Augustus walked out of the door without looking back and pressed the elevator.
Just then Lisa came and grabbed his arm, “You said we are friends.. right?” Augustus nodded.
“Then please listen to your friend, once.” She pleaded.
Augustus looked at her with deep gaze and then shook his head in defeat. Such a cunning woman, it’s nearly an hour they became friends and she tried to convince him with that.
August sighed and said, “Okay, but first of all, Lester will check your home properly and then you’ll go.” He demanded.
Lisa nodded happily and both stepped in the elevator together.
They both left the building together. Lisa immediately hugged her naked arms because of the strong cold wind blowing.
Augustus saw her feeling cold, he immediately took off his coat to put on her shoulder. Just as he stepped forward. Lisa stepped backward cautiously.
“It’s not appropriate.” Lisa muttered.
Augustus’s eyebrows knitted, he felt distressed.
Just when he opened his mouth to scold her, Lester came up, “Shall we go, Boss?”
Augustus diverted his attention to Lester in an instant, and ordered him. “Drop Lisa home first.” And then he walked to the car without glancing at her.
Lisa let out a sigh of relief, Lester came in at the right time as her savior.
Lisa smiled and greeted Lester, “Hello Lester.”
Lester greeted back, “Hello Miss Lisa, how you’re feeling now.?”
“I am fine now, Thankyou.” Lisa replied shivering.
Lester saw her shivering and said guiltily, “I am sorry Ms. Lisa. I shouldn’t have bought this dress, regarding to the weather.”
Lisa was stunned, did he buy her dress and what about undergarments that too was bought by him.. Lisa felt embarrassed. “It’s fine, Lester. You have good taste and size fits perfectly.” She said while reaching to the car, her face was flushed red. Lester opened the door and Lisa sat inside smiling shyly.
Augustus who was frustrated by waiting for them looked at Lisa and frowned at her blushing face, then glare at Lester angrily.
Lester saw his glare and said nervously, “By the way, the size of dress was given by Boss that’s why it looks perfect on you Ms. Lisa. All credit goes to him.” He tried to please his Boss.
Lisa looked at Lester and than Augustus, she then said in a low voice, “I see.”
Lester felt disappointed at her reaction.
Augustus’s body got stiff. Both kept silent in the car.
Lester pulled the car in front of her Building.
“Lester go and check the apartment” Augustus ordered. Lester nodded and got off the car leaving them both alone.
In the car, the atmosphere got very tensed as nobody spoke and both can hear each other’s heavy breathing.
“Mr. Augustus, I am grateful from the bottom of my heart of what you did yesterday.” Lisa spoke first breaking the awkward situation.
However, Augustus didn’t react at all. Seeing his ignorance, Lisa pursed her lips and turned her face looking outside of window.
Lester opened the door and said, “You can go now, Miss Lisa.”
Lisa turned to see Augustus, but he was still sitting with a cold face. Lisa nodded at Lester and got off the car.
Just as she stood at her building gate, Augustus pressed down his window mirror and called her, “Lisa”
She turned with a smile on her face.
“If that scoundrel came again, give me call immediately.” He said in a serious tone locking his eyes with her. Lisa nodded.
“Drive” Augustus ordered and the car went on the road. Lisa looked at the back of the car blankly until it disappeared.
