Next day, Lisa woke up with heavy eyes and head. She looked around, it wasn’t her home. Home, than she remembered Ted, his evil smile. She looked down panickly, she was wearing clothes. Thank God.
What.? She looked again and it was a man’s pyjamas she was wearing. She stood up and went outside taking baby steps. She went down and saw someone sitting in the living room.
She approached to the room and coughed. The man turned around, she met the blue gaze, and there was a puzzled look on her face.
Augustus saw her reaction and understood that she doesn’t remember anything.
“Last night, you came in front of my car. I didn’t know, what to do. So, I brought you at my home.” He explained.
“My… clothes..” She stuttered.
“Oh… that my housekeeper. Ms. Davis she changed it. Your clothes were wet because of rain, last night.” Augustus said nervously.
“Hmm…” She nodded and lost in her thoughts.
Augustus saw her being lost, he couldn’t help but asked Her, “What exactly happened, last night.?”
Lisa looked at him and tried to open her mouth but she fell. Augustus held her on time and placed her on the sofa. Her whole body was as hot as fire.
Augustus frowned and said, “Stay here, I’ll bring medicine. It seems you’re having temperature because of last night.” He stood up and left.
Lisa closed her eyes and couldn’t help but think about Ted. She had always treated him as a child and last night he injected her, and pounced on her like a beast. Once again, Augustus had helped her but this time he didn’t know that he had saved her life and her dignity too. If by chance, Ted would have succeeded in his bad deeds, she would never be able to face herself from shame.
Just when Lisa was deeply lost in her thoughts, she heard someone’s footsteps and shouting towards her. She tried to open her eyes and turned her face to look at the woman standing a little far from her. Behind her was another woman, who looked terrified by the woman’s appearance.
The woman’s Sharp gaze was on Lisa and she asked furiously, “Who the hell are You? What are you doing in my son’s apartment.?”
Lisa tried very hard to keep her eyes opened. She tried to sit up but all her strength was drained last night.
When Rheena Carlos saw that the woman didn’t get bother from her at all. She got furious and stomped her feet.
“You… You shameless woman..! You better get out of here right away or I’ll call the security to throw you out.”
Lisa struggled to get up. Just when she was trying to stand, a voice came “Stay right there.” Lisa looked at the direction and saw Augustus standing with a glass of water in his one hand and pills in an other.
Augustus approached Lisa ignoring his mother. He put the medicine in her mouth and helped her drink water. He kept rubbing her back gently at all times.
After that, he put her legs on sofa and helped her lying. He then said, “sleep.”
Rheena was stunned and kept glaring at Lisa with disgust in her eyes.
“So, is she the reason, why you left Giovanna last night at the hotel.?” Rheena questioned Augustus Furiously.
Augustus looked at his mom and said in a calming tone, “Lets talk in study room mom. Let her rest here.” He gently patted on her shoulder.
Then, he stood up and walked to his study room. Rheena Carlos followed him. Augustus closed the door and asked, “Why you’re here.?”
“Do I need to ask your permission before coming here.?” Rheena asked sarcastically.
“I don’t mean like that, mom.” Augustus explained.
“Augustus.. what’s happening? Tell me the truth. Is because of her, you left Giovanna last night.?” Rheena Carlos asked straightly she is not the type of woman who hide through bushes.
“No, mom. I had some work to do.” Augustus lied.
In reality, yesterday Augustus was having dinner with Giovanna at The Glass Hostaria, when Lester told him that Lisa was dining down with a man who seem to be very close to her. After hearing him, he immediately stood up and went down to catch her. But at that time, to His surprise he saw them both hugging tightly, and then Lisa walked alone to other direction.
He asked Lester to bring the car and followed her, but they lost her after a while. But who knows after wandering there clueless, she came In front of his car by herself.
“Then why this woman is in your apartment? And why is she wearing your clothes.? Huh..?” Rheena Carlos can see through his lies. She asked immediately with raising an eye brow in doubt.
“Last night, I was coming back home when this woman got hit by my car. I panicked and brought her here. Ms. Davis changed her clothes because the one she was wearing were drenched in rain.” Augustus answered honestly however it was not the whole truth but half of it was indeed true.
Rheena felt relieved by hearing his explanation. She knew Augustus was forced to engage with Giovanna and he kept trying to piss her off by going to other woman. But he always kept those woman, out of his life. He had never brought any woman at his home except this girl.
Rheena calmed her self instantly and said, “Yesterday, when you left Giovanna, she got drunk and met a minor accident. Scott called me last night, and informed me. Do you know how embarrassed I felt.? What if something happened to her.? At least, you should have send her home before you left. She is your Fiancé Augustus.!” She raised her voice while saying the last sentence.
“Mom, she is not a child.” Augustus said annoyingly.
“That’s what I am trying to say. She is not a child neither do you. You should seriously think about getting marry Augustus. It’s time now.” Rheena said concernedly.
“Yes mom. I know, I have been thinking about it.” Augustus said.
“Then I’ll wait for the good news.” Rheena hugged her son happily and then saw a red mark on his neck. She held his collar and asked sharply, “what’s this mark?”
Augustus shrugged his shoulder and said nervously holding his collar, “Its nothing, mom.”
“Augustus.!” Rheena said in a warning tone.
Augustus walked over and opened the door. “Mom go and rest. Don’t worry about me.” He reassured his mom.
“Don’t forget to give a call to Giovanna and send her some flowers too.” Rheena Carlos reminded him while going out.
Augustus nodded in approval. Before Rheena left, she swept a glance at woman lying on sofa. However, his son had explained her but still she felt something fishy about her.
Augustus came to living room with quilt in his hands. He covered Lisa with quilt and then he noticed that her face was turned red from heat. He checked her forehead and her temperature had not come down yet.
He sat on the sofa and started doing his work on laptop. Today he decided to take off from his office to spend some time with Lisa. After working for an hour, Augustus stood up and stretched his arm to check her temperature, it had still not gone down yet.
Augustus again busied himself in work. Keeping an eye on her time to time. After a while, Lisa started to tremble in the quilt and said, “Cold… so cold…”
When Augustus heard her, he stepped forward and touched her forehead. She was still not sweating. He couldn’t help but feel a little anxious. If she would not sweat from a high fever, her body temperature would not drop.
Lisa tossed and turned under the quilt, and kept shouting, “I am cold… I am cold…”
Augustus immediately held her up and took her to his room upstairs. Augustus placed her on bed and covered her with double quilt. He also turned on the heater to warm the room.
He touched her forehead but she is still not sweating. He felt her body shaking as expected.
“Don’t go.. don’t go..” in her sleep, Lisa held Augustus’s arm tightly.
