Chapter 22

Book:Obsession of the Prince Published:2024-5-1

He smiled at me. But, I never stop bargaining with him, “It is possible to add two zeros when all of this is finished!”
Cazola burst out laughing, “Are you sure? Forget it! ”
He turned and walked to the door, and Fiona followed him bitterly. At that time, he suddenly stopped and turned to Fiona and said, “Do you think you can finish within one hour?”
Fiona nodded with joy.
Cazola slammed the door and disappeared into our sight without looking back. We are now alone in this huge factory. She ran over and jumped into my arms. The excitement is beyond words. She stretched out her hand and grabbed my soldier, and plunged into her secret cave, which was still warm and wet.
And with a hoarse voice, blowing hot air in my ear, she said, “Your Highness, I will drain you dry!” In the middle of the night, I came out of the factory.
To avoid my roommate’s suspicion, they gave an alibi that I was injured and needed physical therapy. When I was put into the cell by the prison guard, I saw a book falling from my roommate’s bedside. I seem to feel that his smooth breathing suddenly becomes uneven. It was not noticeable, but I was able to tell his condition. I helped him pick up the book, and with the help of the light on the corridor, I saw that it was an old book with the cover saying “crime and punishment.”
As if nothing had happened, I put the book on his bedside and got ready to go to bed. I’m a little tired after my adventure with Fiona an hour ago. But the “Crime and Punishment” book has been wandering in my mind as if trying to tell me something, but I can’t figure out what information this book holds.
Is that the book I needed? It’s impossible. Would he put the password book on the bedside so blatantly? I can’t sleep because my mind was full of thoughts. I tossed and turned in bed.
After about half an hour, I suddenly remembered the faint change of his breath.
He noticed my arrival. He knew that his book had fallen. If he notices it, should he pick it up? Why should he pretend to be asleep? That is to say. Was he reading the book just now? No, it’s impossible to bring everything that can illuminate, such as flashlights, into prison. Does he have the capability to know when a person is approaching? Or did he see my shadow that was reflected by the moonlight? I glanced at the window, and there was no light in the sky outside.
When I came back, I also found that today is a cloudy day. All this shows that this book is by no means a simple novel. The information provided by Edward is that he has the password book with him and has passed the information by a password. Still, he has not thoroughly investigated and blocked because he wants to dig out more information.
The next day, I told Cazola about the book Crime and Punishment. He listened but shook his head vigorously. He told me, “You don’t understand the deciphering process of the Password book!” He went on to explain, “Our whole deciphering system has collected almost all the books in the world. Enter passwords in the system. Generally, passwords represent the number of pages, rows, and columns. The system will search all the books and soon form possible words.
But you can’t get any valuable information by inputting the password they passed into the system. As a world-famous book, Crime and Punishment is of course, recorded in the system.”
I was very disappointed to hear it.
Cazola grimly told me, “Your Highness, you still have one day. If you can’t find the password book by noon tomorrow, your plan will be ruined!”
My mind was full of crime and punishment. I didn’t listen to what Cazola said in this class. Of course, it made him very unhappy. But I don’t care at all. I just need to find the password book quickly.
In the evening, I went back to my cell and saw my roommate sitting in a daze. I took out a bottle of wine. Alcohol often paralyzes the brain and nerves, making people unresponsive and irrational. “I haven’t asked your name yet?” I broke the silence.
“John, John MCkonl.” He said without looking at me.
Why is he so depressed today? Is he afraid of something? Is he afraid of last night’s password book being exposed? But, Cazola said, crime and punishment are not.
I took two plastic cups and poured half a glass of wine. I handed him a glass of wine, but he didn’t get it, so I conveniently put it on the table in front of him. I went straight to the topic: “I saw your book!”
“What book?” His reaction seemed anxious. He immediately took the initiative to calm himself down and stopped asking questions.
I said, “Crime and punishment!” He seems to have heard what he expected as an answer.
“I found it on the ground last night and put it on your bed.” I answered truthfully.
“Thank you.” He answered simply as if he didn’t want to lead to any topic.
“Raskolnikov killed the landlady and her innocent daughter. This man is crazy.” I said casually.
He is still not looking, and then nodded, “Well, yes!”
