SHADOW
“Fuck.” He grunted out a curse as he held my hips steady, thrusting his rigid cock deep inside me.
I mewled as I felt helpless above him, watching him devouring in his own desire. The familiar pleasure rippled through my core in fast urges. My inner muscles clamped around him, making him groan loudly.
I rode his cock, preparing to come undone around him. My senses soared, overwhelmed by how much he made me feel so good.
“Califf, don’t stop!” I threw my head back. My eyes popped open, staring at the ceiling as the intensity of my pleasure became too much.
“Fucking good,” he said through gritted teeth as he sped up his plunge. Each thrust sent me to my own euphoria.
One moment I was writhing in pleasure as his hands cupped my breasts, pinching my nipples, his hand traveling down my abdomen, his finger massaging my clit as he pumped faster and harder.
My body shuddered in sweet surrender.
“Look at me as you come.” His command was my undoing as he continued pounding.
“Yes!” I looked at him. Fingernails dug into his chest as I chased through my orgasm.
“Baby!” He swelled and jerked inside me, emptying his release. Then his eyes went wide as if something terrified or shocked him, but I was so wanton, catching my breath to care as I fell on his chest.
***
It was Saturday. I woke up early and checked the video to see if I had sleepwalked again.
I installed a camera in our room two days ago. At least I would see something if I did. Thankfully, I slept the whole night.
Today will be Kindra and Duke’s picnic. I already linked some of the guys to help me finish the decoration. Kindra gave me a few ideas of what she liked for the theme. She wanted just light color, fresh flowers, and fun.
Last night, we arranged the tables and chairs so that before the party, we could set the arrangements, and then we placed the decorations.
“Shadow, can you come if I did it right?”
I went to Everlee. She was assigned to the table decoration. “Are you kidding? You did it better than I could.”
She opted for a less elaborate, costly, and time-consuming arrangement. She added pink and white carnations with orange Santan, which came out amazing and lit up the tables. The colors complemented very well.
“Zack?”
“Yeah?” He dropped the keg and a barrel of booze for later.
“Can you put the signpost? You’re stronger than me.”
“Sure.” He just pushed it down with one hand. Damn, I missed being strong. “Anything else?”
“Just bring those to the buffet table, and you are assigned with the cocktail.”
“Got it.”
“Aira, how about the balloons?” I assigned Aira for the balloons while Zarah chose the cake, and she promised me no tea flavor.
“Easy. I’m almost done.”
“All right.”
Lyon and Tor brought the trays of food and fruits. Kairo promised to bring his famous Tempura and Sushi.
Two hours later, we did it- the decoration for the picnic was done, with a little bit of an upgrade to an outdoor party, and the result was spectacular. And it would be breathtaking at night when the lighting lit up. A lot of pastel balloons surrounded a small backdrop.
I went to the pack house for a quick change. I put on a Boho chic white dress. When I came back, the pack members started to arrive, but Califf wasn’t there yet.
“Where’s the Alpha?”
“Stuck in traffic,” I joked, putting my arm around Aira.
“I missed a lot of fun. I have to study for the exam, and Zarah wouldn’t allow me to go.”
“Seriously?” I looked down at her in surprise.
“Yeah. I won’t be able to practice magic if I can’t master and memorize the incantations. And it’s a lot, at least five grimoires.”
“Wow. So, how are you and Tor?”
When her cheeks turned red, I rolled my eyes. “Nevermind. Don’t answer that. Glad you two are doing great.”
“So as Zarah and the Alpha King.”
“Yeah. Everyone deserved to be happy.”
Aira elbowed me. “Look who just arrived? He looked yummy in his casual outfit.”
Califf hadn’t seen me, and I was already smiling like crazy.
“Hello, Alpha. It’s an honor to have you at this wonderful party.”
“Aira, you look fantastic,” Califf said with a smile.
“You’re not bad yourself,” said Aira, who wore a printed midi dress.
“Hey, baby.” He kissed me on the lips and looked around. “I love what you’ve done with the place. It looks fabulous.”
“Pack and friends effort, but yeah. It looks beautiful, and wait until nighttime.”
“I should check on Zarah since Alpha King can’t come.” Aira left.
Califf snaked his hand around my waist and whispered, “Can we talk?”
“Of course.” I looked at him. “What is it?”
“Have you noticed some changes in you lately?”
I blinked at his question. “No, but it has been three nights since I stopped sleepwalking. Why?”
“You’re not getting stronger, faster?”
“No.” I snorted. “I wish, but why? What is it all about?”
“While you and I were.” He stopped when some of the members arrived.
“While we were?” I tried hiding my smile because I thought I knew what he was saying.
“Yeah. I saw your eyes glow silver violet. I thought you were going to shift to hybrid.”
I chuckled. “Are you kidding me? I would have felt it. Or maybe it was just an intense orgasm.”
He smiled. “Yeah, maybe. But you will tell me if you feel something different, right?”
“Of course.” I pecked his lips.
“Oh, my Goddess!” Kindra’s eyes widened, her hands on her mouth as she looked around.
“I’m glad you like it. Welcome to your party, mamma wolfy.” I put on her flower headpiece and kissed her on the cheek.
“Wow. This is amazing,” said Duke. “I shouldn’t have expected any less when Luna handles the decoration.”
Everyone settled to their tables, and pups played with bubbles and kites around us. It was a wonderful afternoon. Duke and Kindra deserved this. They deserved to be happy with their growing family.
“Thank you,” Dr. Sallie whispered before she took a seat.
“You’re welcome.” I smiled at her. Everlee and Calder caught my attention, and that ring around her finger was not there when we decorated this place.
She signaled me not to react, but my eyes were wide enough. I nodded as I silently giggled at her. I was so happy for them, and they both deserved all the happiness in the world after what they went through together.
“Alpha Califf, Luna Shadow, Elders, enforcers, our friends Zarah and Aira, Everlee and Calder. I want to thank you all for being here today. I just want to share our blessings with you. Kindra and I are having twins, a boy and a girl-”
Kindra yelped in surprise as Zack and Lyon popped up the blue and pink confetti, making me laugh because that was not a part of the plan, but yeah, everyone applauded and congratulated the couple.
“We are glad to have this wonderful and loving family around us. We wouldn’t be this happy without all of you.”
“To the future betas.” Califf raised his glass, and we all followed.
The food was excellent. The cocktail was refreshing. The Champagne and wine were complimentary, courtesy of my father. The lights turned on. The music started playing, boys and girls began dancing, and so did those with mates.
“May I have this honor, Luna?” Califf offered his hand.
“I’m a little tipsy. You know I forget I’m human.” I laughed out loud as I stood up. We went to the middle, and I wrapped my arms around his neck.
“You look beautiful.”
“You are yummy enough to be my midnight snack, Alpha.” I spun and almost tripped if he wasn’t fast enough to catch me.
Then I realized it was a full moon tonight. The silver moon hung low above us. I looked up and still had a lot of things to be grateful for.
Our boys shifted and ran to the woods for a hunt. It was a beautiful night indeed, and I was dancing with the love of my life.
“Are you okay?” He kissed me on my forehead.
“Better than okay. I’m happy I have you. I have my father and Kent. I have Zarah, Aira, my best friend Zack, Kindra and Duke, Calder and Everlee, and the boys. I have this pack who is willing to risk their lives for us. I have everything I need.” I looked around with a smile. “I was so stupid for thinking I could leave the pack behind. This, what we have here, is more than pack to me. This is family, Califf. I don’t need to be a Lycan, a hybrid, or a healer. You all are enough for me.”
My heart suddenly beat so fast, making me gasp. Then, my body began burning from deep within. I was clutching my chest as I stared at Califf.
“Baby, are you okay?” His eyes filled with worry as he stared back at me.
“No.” I began panting. My heart was racing, galloping like in a horse race. Feeling my bones were breaking, I fell on my knees. My body felt like it was burning inside, my internal organs melting.
“Shadow, what’s going on?” I heard his anxious voice and felt his hand on my shoulder.
“Get away from me!” I growled at him, jerking off his hand on me. “Far!”
“Oh, my Goddess.” I watched his eyes widen and saw myself in them. “Baby?” Then he growled a command as everyone surrounded us. “Stay away!”
I was still shocked to say something. Gasping, I looked at my hands- they were no longer human. All I saw was my paws and white fur. I thought I had goosebumps all over my body.
With wide eyes, I met Califf’s gaze again.
“Hey, beautiful,” he said to me, smiling. “Welcome back.”
I shook my body. My fur danced in waves, and I thought I just laughed and danced in circles, trying to see my tail until I threw myself at Califf. He landed on the ground, laughing as I licked him on the face. As my instinct kicked in, I turned around and ran.
For the last few months, I thought I lost Raven forever, and there was no way of finding her back. Then she was here with me. I felt her excitement, her happiness, and her laugh as we ran through the woods. We were one once again.
I thanked the Moon Goddess for this second chance.
The pads of my paws stomped on the ground and jumped through the logs. I felt the freedom again, the breeze flowing against my fur, and the smell of earth, the forest around me.
At the corner of my eye, I saw the midnight black wolf, then another black and gray wolf running with me. Then, more thumping behind me. I turned my head, and at least ten or more wolves followed. It was not just a beautiful night but a Luna night. A full moon to celebrate Kindra and Duke and my wolf coming back.
Califf went ahead and stopped at the tip of the cliff. Standing gracefully with all his glory and strength, he howled, calling our pack, but this time, it was a call for jubilation and harmony- a call for gratitude.
