She’s Drunk, Xandry
XANDRY
My sister walked to Cam and Blaine with a huge smile on her face. I prayed inwardly and hoped she was not going to spill embarrassing stories about me.
Focusing back to the woman in front of me, Megan giggled when I mentioned Finley, though she stole glances more to Riley than him.
“I’m not sleeping with a country guy,” she protested.
“And why is that?”
“It would be hard for us even for a booty call, duh.” She rolled her eyes, sipping her drinks.
I smiled broadly. “But you like him.”
Her brow raised in disbelief. “You’re serious about it? Since when you’re doing a matchmaking thingy?”
“I am not. Look, Meg, give him a chance. He’s a good guy.”
“And he looks like have a huge dick.”
I barked into laughter, shaking my head in amusement. Seriously, this woman never filtered her mouth. “There is only one way to find out.” I stood up. “See you later, Meg.”
“Go, get your girl.”
“Soon to be.” I winked and walked away.
I lowered my pace when I noticed sissy looked so engrossed over their conversation. They looked like they were planning on some pranks, then suddenly barked into laughter, making me stop to a halt.
Thankfully, the bride announced the obligatory bouquet tossing. The single ladies, including my sister, gathered in front of the large staircase ready to catch the bouquet.
Seriously, was she going to catch that? I didn’t hear Rexwell talking about marriage, but they seemed happy together. And I’d loved to hear it before my sister would pop out a kid.
Blaine sauntered to the girls beside Cam. I leaned on the counter and grabbed my drink as I watched them readied. My heart did a little thundering inside my chest if Blaine would possibly catch the flowers. Does it mean she’ll gonna get married next? A sudden wave of nausea twisted in the pit of my stomach, thinking Blaine was getting married to the other guy.
My jaw locked painfully, my teeth would crack if the bartender didn’t pull me out of my deep thoughts.
“The glass will break in your hand, man.”
I looked at him, and that was how I missed who caught the bouquet. A sudden roar from the crowd caught my attention.
Shit!
Camila jumped up and down, showing the bouquet in her hand. I thanked God under my breath and poured the drink into my mouth.
Then it was the turn for the groom to throw the garter. Of course, my stupid pussy-whipped cousin was on the front line. I chuckled and said, “I’m not needed there, right?”
I watched Kyland walked to the staircase where his wife stood before. “Come here, dumbass, or I will throw you out of the house!” Kyland waved and yelled at me.
“I’m not gonna catch that garter and slip it into Cam’s leg, skinny-ass,” I protested.
“Just come here, bro,” Pyke called. Levi, Finley, and Riley were already there. Forrest was brooding, but he stood still without protest.
“Fine, but I won’t catch that thing.” I walked towards them and stood at the back like a statue. Before I could blink, Pyke already jumped to catch the garter. In one quick move, the garter was on his hand.
“Hell yeah!”
I clapped my hands and shook my head. “No one dares to catch that, pussy-whipped.”
“Soon, you’ll be the new member.” He winked.
The DJ played the song and blared on the speaker, and the crowd roared as soon as Pyke slipped the garter on Cam, then they started dancing, and so as everyone.
I sat back at the bar and ordered another drink as I watched Blaine swaying her hips with her cousin. If I haven’t known they were cousins, I’m damn pissed off and already ripped his hands off of Blaine. I admitted I’m kind of an Alpha ass when it came to her, which was weird. I had never cared for any woman, even I just had sex with, but with Blaine, I wanted her all by myself. Period.
“Wanna dance?” Meg asked.
I shook my head. “You should go and dance with Riley.”
“I turned him down.”
My brow furrowed. “Why?”
“Because he’s hot, and just by his touch could light me into a fire.”
“And what’s wrong with that?”
Meg took a seat beside me. “You don’t get it, do you?”
I looked at her, more confused. “No.”
“God, you’re so dumb, Xandry. I don’t want a relationship. Don’t you get it? And he looks like a guy who wakes up early morning to make breakfast and bring it to bed and kiss me each morning. I love sex, but I’m not the right girl for him.”
“Tell him then.”
“I know for a fact once I sleep with him, I can’t have sex with anyone again. I want him again and again and until he will fall for me. I can’t break B’s cousin’s heart.”
“You have a heart, Meg. You might like him too. Try him. Maybe he’s the right person who can mend your broken heart.”
She laughed bitterly. “I like him. And I’m not broken, Xandry.”
“Then what are you afraid of?”
“I’m damaged.” That’s it. She left me alone, dumbfounded. I closed my mouth when I couldn’t see her head from the crowd anymore.

I found out where Blaine and her family checked in one of the King’s hotels. Thanks to Pyke, I got a hotel room just right next to Blaine’s.
I left ahead of them. I listened to the noise outside of my room, like a creepy stalker. I showered and changed into a shirt and sweatpants. I laid down and watched the damn clock every damn ten minutes. No, every minute, and patiently waited for them to come.
An hour passed by, there were still no signs of them. I stood up and walked to the door in dismay. I opened it and leaned my head against the doorjamb, crossing my arms over my chest, and waited.
Where is she?
I yawned loudly and rubbed the back of my neck, and then my phone rang suddenly. I sprinted towards the bed, grabbing my phone, and answered. “Yup?”
“Man, thank, god. I can’t find a hotel. How many King’s are in this city?”
I laughed in amusement over Riley’s question. “Seven.”
“Fuck you, King’s!”
“Don’t you have a driver with you?”
“We have, but I told him to the same hotel as to where Kyland and Bianca’s, then he already left. We are stuck here in the lobby.”
“Idiot, that’s not the same hotel as to where you’re staying. They are staying near the airport because they have an early flight tomorrow for a honeymoon.”
“Come on, man, I don’t wanna disturb the newlyweds. How do we get back?”
“Give the phone to the receptionist.”
“I’ll give it Finley because Blaine is already sleeping on my lap.”
“What the fuck?”
“Calm down. She sleeps when she gets drunk.”
“Give it to Finley,” I quickly replied.
“Hey, man, sorry for the bother.”
“It’s alright, and let me talk to the receptionist. Do you want to stay in that hotel, or do you want the old one?”
“If I may want to go to our hotel. Our things are still there.”
Poor, country guys.
“No one will touch your things, but you might wanna change your clothes. Just let me talk to the receptionist.” I heard heavy footsteps of Finley over the phone. Then faint voices of him and a female voice must be the receptionist.
“Mr. Williams, good morning. How may I help you? I’m Anne of King’s Hotel.”
“Yes, Anne. Good morning. Call a valet to send my friends back to Manhattan.”
“Anything else, sir?”
“That’s all, thank you.”
“You’re welcome, sir.”

Forty minutes later, I quickly opened the door when I heard shuffling and muffled voices.
“Thank fuck!” Finley remarked.
“That didn’t take long,” I affirmed.
“Yeah, thank you, man. This woman will get her lecture when she wakes up in the morning.” Riley carried sleeping Blaine in a bridal style.
“Shit! I didn’t have her bag,” Riley announced.
“Shit. Let her sleep in my bed. I’ll sleep on the couch,” Finley replied.
The wheels in my brain suddenly worked. “That won’t be necessary. Bring her into my room. I’ve got a large bed and a huge couch.”
They both looked at each other in disapproval.
“Look, If you think of me as an asshole, and you’re both right, but I’m not into a drunk girl who won’t even remember what I did to her when she wakes up. I’m just suggesting.” I shrugged innocently, shoving my hands into my pockets.
“Yeah, I really need a soft bed tonight. I’m drained to even argue with sleeping arrangements,” Riley agreed.
“Bring her in.” I opened the door wider and walked inside. “If you don’t trust me, you can all sleep here, and I’ll take yours.” I hoped they wouldn’t agree.
“No, man. I already bothered you a lot.” Riley placed Blaine on my bed. She stirred, dipping her face on my pillow.
My heart warmed at the thought of her liking my smell. But she’s drunk, Xandry.
“See you in the morning, man. Thanks so much!” They both shook my hands and bid goodbye.
I locked the door, glancing down at sleeping Blaine with a smile on my face. I yanked my shirt over my head and pushed down my sweatpants. “Look how fate brought us together, Blaine. I was just dreaming of sleeping beside you, and now it’s going to come true.”
