Driving insane

They continued to eat and drink some more amidst the awkwardness with their thoughts all over the place.

Rosaline excused herself to go to the washroom. William took this chance to open the windows and take some fresh air to calm himself down.

Rosaline was the first and only person he had ever been attracted to in his life. He had never thought about romance or even sex. His best friend, Albert, often teased him saying he had a physiological problem or maybe he is asexual. William had never paid attention to it.

But Rosaline was driving him insane. When she bit her lips, as she subconsciously tended to do quite often, it took all of his restraint to resist the urge to kiss her and maybe bite those lips until they bleed.

When she walked in today, he could not take his eyes off her. The tattoo on her fair shoulders, he wanted to trace them with his tongue and move up to her neck and touch and kiss every inch of her skin.

When she flushed earlier and her earlobes were dripping red, he wanted to kiss and suck on them until she screamed in ecstasy.

When he saw her shrouded in melancholy on the top of Apex hill a few days back, he had wanted to envelop her in his arms and kiss away all her sadness and protect her forever.

When she laughed or giggled, he could not help stare at her awestruck as his heart trembled. He wanted to see what she would look like when she was laughing in his arms with his hands all over her.

He took deep breaths and chased all his thoughts and impulse away. He did not want to scare her off, as she seemed to want to duck back on her shell unexpectedly. He closed his eyes and tried to meditate to ease his restlessness as he continued to take deep breaths.

Little did he know, Rosaline was doing the same in the lady’s room.

As soon as Rosaline shut the door of the washroom, she leaned on it and placed her hand on her heart which was beating wildly.

It took all her self-control to stop the moan threatening from her lips earlier. Only God knew how she managed to control herself and try to maintain some semblance of calm when he was so close.

Rosaline had never felt like this before. She had been on a few dates over the years, but all of them ended the same way. She simply did not feel anything and took the first exit rather than entangle others heedlessly.

But William was an exception. From the first time she saw him, he had a way to bring out her emotions or read them accurately. She was annoyed by his smirk. She got excitingly scared when he flirted with her. He could read her like no others, and he expressed his feelings rather straightforwardly, which flustered her like never before.

Her breath hitched every time he got close. His musky scent enveloped her every being. When he had held her by the waist and leaned dangerously close in the bar last time, she had an explicable sense of comfort, as she could shelter in his arms. And that terrified her.

When he had taken her to the waterfall that day, she could tell he was trying to cheer her up. His comforting her without saying anything touched the deepest parts of her heart.

When he looked at her with eyes full of passion, she felt naked, not her body in an uncomfortable way, but also her soul felt bare.

When he leaned in earlier, she did not even think of avoiding him. His hot breath and smell of wine had her intoxicated and a part of her wanted him to touch her and kiss her to ease the itch she felt all the way down to her toes.

But she was scared. He was a stranger and full of troubles. Falling for him was not rational.

She had a feeling that if she really fell for him, she would fall deep and won’t be able to extricate herself. She had to protect herself from heartbreak. She calmed down and went back after finishing her business.
