“Wait! What?” Now the whispering coming from every corner was getting louder, some of the class mate were covering their mouth in shock, including Anita.
Anita threw her head backward and laughed out very loud clapping her hands,
“Daughter of a Maid? Are you serious Lexy?” She asked unbelievably.
I wanted the ground to open and swallow me that moment, why would Lexy do this to me? What ever happened to calling me and asking privately?
” Wow! I thought somebody parents is wealthy, not knowing she is the daughter of a lowlife maid”
Anita mocked with disgust evident in her voice as she walk round me.
Hot tears sting my eyes, ready to spill, I numb, looking at the floor embarrassed.
I couldn’t not say anything, I couldn’t defend myself or try to explain to him that moment it was unnecessary.
Lexy stood silently starring at me, waiting for me to talk.
Delvin walked in just right on time,” Kelsi let’s get out of here” he pulled my hand ready to drag me out of the classroom.
“She’s is not going anywhere….!” Lexy fired at him, his eye travelled from Delvin gaze to our interwined hands.
He returned his gaze to me, ” …. Not until iam done with her”
Slowly walking towards me, lexy raised my face with a finger, “No wonder I never had anything for you, how were you able to work in my dad house and I didn’t see you? now I feel disgusted kissing you, I never knew you were a pathetic liar” he hissed, his eyes came down to my lip.
He blinked and looked away.
“Are you not ashamed of yourself? You wanted to impress me with lies? I don’t make friends with liars and pretenders, you know what? Stay far away from me, Stay where you belong, I guess you already know where you came from, the trash!”
Hot tears spilled out of my eyes, i was shaking, I could feel delvin’s grip on my hand getting tighter and tighter as he stared at Lexy departing figure.
Delvin gave Lexy a long hard look and forcefully dragged me out of the place.
I could hear Anita Laughing with her crew, while some students were calling me daughter of Maid.
I cried like never before, not only did Lexy disgraced me in front of everyone he called me a trash, it hurts like hell.
His words pierced through my heart like a knife coated with coal and fire, tears never stopped flowing even though Delvin was consoling me.
I just couldn’t face him or anyone anylonger, I don’t know how to face the other students.
How will I be able to stand to this challenge? Pain flowed through me, I was sick to the stomach.
Why does he care anyway? Why is he interested in my affairs?
I cried harder, my body shook with the intensity of how hurt I was.
Why didn’t he call me and tell me that privately, instead of disgracing me infront of everyone.
I felt humiliated by him.
I knew by now, different rumours will be flying everywhere, my name will be soiled everywhere both in school and on their WhatsApp group chat.
I would be a Laughing stock from henceforth.
Now Anita has a upper hand in making my life a hell in the school.
