“Lexy honey!” She called swaying her hips to get his attention.
“Here comes the witch!” I rolled my eyes, as I gulp down my juice.
Anita walked over to our table and sat on Lexy leg blocking his view from seeing me, I looked away chewing my snack slowly.
She leaned closer to his ear, whispering something to him silently, they both laughed as his hands curled around her waist.
Delvin looked at me, sensing my change of mood.
That moment I lost my appetite.
I stood up and left the table.

The next day, I decided to follow her to Mr Raphael residence to assist her with the duties.
Mom called me to help her with the dish, sitting outside the varenda before I was called, i left the Novel I was reading and walked to the kitchen, after everything was done and set, we went back home and that was when I realized I forgot my book.
“Mom!….” I called her, standing up from the bed. “… I forgot the book I was reading at Mr Raphael place, I need to go and get it, the english teacher gave us some assignment in it, and iam not done with the book” I told her while at the same time putting on my slippers.
“Okay, Don’t stay long” mum yawned, turning to the other side of the bed.
I quickly walked towards Mr Raphael residence, I opened the gate and entered, i was relieved when I saw my book lying exactly where I left it.
As I was about picking the book up, I heard the front door opened and I looked up,
My jaw almost dropped to the floor when i saw him.
my eyes refused to blink, as I thought I had seen a ghost.
I had to pinch myself to wake up from the dream, a very bad dream.
There he was on blue round neck shirt and black trouser standing tall with both hands in his back pocket looking yummy but surprised, dark eyes fixed on my shaking self.
“What’s Lexy doing here?” I stood stilled, shocked and speechless.
“Does he know iam a maid here? Does he know Mr&Mrs Raphael?”
My head suddenly became heavy as fear gripped me, fear of being caught as a maid daughter.
He broke the silence, “Kelsi? What are you doing here?” He asked, his eyes traveled from my face to my hand which was visibly shaking the book I was holding.
“Uhm… say something! Say something!” I begged my brain.
“Oh Hello Lexy, I uhm…… I came on a visit it’s getting late already, I need to get going” I laughed nervously.
“I need to be on my way, see you in school on Monday” I tried walking away if possible run very fast.
He was still surprised, but nodded.
“But…. But what are you doing here?” I mentally slapped myself for asking that question instead of running home.
” Well, I live here, you said you came to visit, why didn’t you come in?” he said nonchalantly walking towards me.
” You what?” I asked to be sure that I wasn’t having a hearing defect
“Yeah I live here, this is my dad house” he replied walking closer.
The book I held almost fell off when he drew nearer and we were standing one feet apart.

That moment I knew I was done for!
“Is anything the problem?” He asked concerned, when he saw me shaking.
“No Not atall…..” I replied, clearing my throat, as bead of sweat formed on my forehead.
Damn! This hormones!
“….. iam just surprised, you know”
“Where have you been?” I asked him, because I know for the past months I have not seen him in the house, well not until recently when I found out he is the newest boy in my school and the son of the man sponsoring my education.
He smiled, ” well, I was having my holiday in America, although I wanted to school there but my dad disagreed,
He already registered in the school even without my notice, but I took time before coming back”
“Oh!” I said nodding, I tried looking anywhere else apart from his intense gaze digging holes on my forehead.
“Do you know my parents? How come they never told me about you and your family?” He broke the awkward silence.
“Yes! ….. No! …… I mean yeah yeah, well not that much, my dad knows your parents but he is not around at the moment, he travelled out of the country” I cringed when i realized I have lied to him.
