“Uhmm… you smell cheap!” She said Covering her nose in disgust, how did you get into this school?” She scoffed
I was already getting angry and irritated by her action and annoying questions but I cooled it down.
I don’t want to be in trouble on my first day in school and I certainly don’t want to be in the school blacklist, I kept mute, not responding to her.
She scoffed. “Bitch! I’m talking to you!” She screamed angrily and pushed me.
I staggered back almost falling, crowds of students were gathering whispering and some were videoing what was happening.
I stared at them, “seriously? What is the video for? And why can’t everybody just go their way? Is the gathering necessary? I wanted to shout at them.
“You dare not keep quiet when iam talking to you, You filthy tramp!” She hissed.
I bit my cheek to keep my anger in check.
“You better be very careful here, and watch your back because I will make life miserable and hell for you here in empire high school”.
“What’s going on there? A teacher asked, coming towards our direction.
“Girls let’s go” she said and they left quickly pushing me out of their way.
I exhaled heavily.
‘What happened? Are you okay? I know those girls are bullies, did they hurt you?” the teacher asked.
“No ma” I replied with a smile.
I turned back, walking to the class because I had already lose my appetite that afternoon.
From that moment I know there will be trouble, more trouble for me in the school.
I went back to my class after discussing with the teacher, and met the girls inside Smilling mischievously at me.
I walked to my seat ignoring them, waiting for the next teacher to come In.
The next subject was chemistry. Everyone was already seated when the chemistry teacher walked in.
Few minutes later, he started dictating for us to write, there I was at the back frantically searching for my chemistry note.
“It was here before I went out”, I said to myself while busy searching for my missing note checking my books one after the other.
“Young lady! Why are you not writing?” The chemistry teacher rough voice called out.
“Sir…. I.. I… could not find my note inside my bag” I said stuttering, but I swear it was in my bag earlier.
“You…. you….. you…. couldn’t find your note inside your bag and you swear it was inside your bag?” The man mimicked my stuttering.
“So your bag now swallow books?”
Everybody in the class laughed.
I was pained, tears welled my eyes, who could have done this to me? I looked immediately at the saucy girl direction and I saw her laughing giving her friend a high five.
“Sir! She took my note” I pointed at her, my anger already boiling, my eyes red as the tears kept rushing down my face.
“What? Anita! Is that so?” The teacher asked waiting for her reply.
“What? No sir! I don’t know anything about her book”, she said faking surprise.
“She is new here, I don’t know her neither have I talk to her and iam sure I won’t, who knows maybe she didn’t buy book on her first day to school”
Everybody laughed, including her.
I was pained, my eyes were red, I badly wanted to go over to her seat and hit her pretty face hard.
“Get out of my class now” The teacher shouted, “You are a new student and you’re so careless and unserious to come to class without your complete note books”
“You don’t have any business here, stay outside till iam done with my teaching”
Tears came out of my eyes, “I don’t think I belong here” I said to myself walking out of the class.
