VICTOR’S P. O. V.
We have been in this discussion for an hour, it feels like forever. I mean how many times can we express to these idiots that they need to train more wolves. Alpha Benson and Alpha Shawn are so stuck in the old ways that they were trained in that they fail to see what is right in front of them. With only half of the packs trained fully we are leaving too much to chance. We don’t even really know how many wolves the rogues have, but we do know it is enough that they have been attacking all four territories and haven’t lost one wolf.
“I don’t see why all the wolves need to be trained. Our warriors are well trained and can defend our territory without a problem. I think you are making a bigger deal out of this than necessary.” Alpha Benson says in a way that makes me think that he thinks he’s better than us.
“Look, high and mighty Benson, if you are still so strong then why haven’t you stopped any of the rogues that have invaded your territory.” I counter him. “You think you are going to stop them when they have been scouting us for months, do you not think that they know all about our training and our limits? They are fully aware of how many warriors that we have and how many are trained enough to even defend properly. Do you think that they are scared? How scared do you think they are when they are still scouting? They intend to invade, they haven’t seen anything that scares them.”
“How do you even know that they are going to invade?” Alpha Shawn asks.
Peter fields this one. “How do you not? The systematic attacks, the invasions of all of the territories. They plan to attack. I would stake my life on it. I for one, plan on having as many warriors as possible when it does happen and I am praying that I have enough in time. We haven’t even been able to get enough scouts to do our own reconnaissance. We don’t know what they have going on. We don’t know shit. We are about to have our asses handed to us and we are sitting here debating on if we should be prepared or not. I for one, am done. Victor and I have formed an Alliance. If you two are too stupid to know that you need to fight then you are on your own. We are not going to defend you too.” Peter got up and started heading towards the door.
“Wait,” Benson stops Peter. “Fine, I will train my warriors with yours. You better be right Peter. I would hate to cause a panic among my wolves if there wasn’t a need.”
“I think your wolves would thank you. I don’t think we need to keep losing wolves because the rogues are still out of control. They need to be eradicated. They have killed too many of our wolves.” Peter answers, crossing his arms. “My Beta can tell you a story if you doubt that we are losing wolves that we need.”
“I too will train, if only to keep our alliance intact. I would hate for it to fall apart because of training.” Alpha Shawn shrugged like it isn’t a big deal.
“Well, at least you can see that your wolves need to train.” I smirked back at him. I like to make things a little light. Even though I really think that all their warriors are lacking. “Send your warriors that you can spare to the college for training. Start with all those over thirteen. We need wolves to defend the college as well in case something goes wrong. The college is where we will all send our women who can’t fight and children. The teen wolves will be trained to defend the college and the rest will be placed around the territories so that we can fend off the rogues.”
“Who put you in charge?” Shawn groaned.
“Are you challenging what I say?”
“No, I just think that we should work together to make these decisions.”
“Anything you don’t agree with we can discuss.”
Benson spoke up. “What about the wolves too old to fight? Should we send those to the college as well?”
Peter. “I think that we should, along with whatever former Alphas that are still around. They may still be able to fight but we need some skill defending the college as well. Also in case something happens to us we can have leaders for our packs. Shawn you will need to designate a wolf that can take over in case something happens to you. We do not intend to take on any new packs with this we are forming an alliance not eradicating individual packs.”
“How many can we spare to scout the rogues?” I ask. We need to know what we are up against. “I have three scouts that are ready to go.”
“I have five.” Peter.
“I have four.” Shawn.
“I haven’t trained scouts. I have some highly trained warriors, but I didn’t find a need to have any that would scout out others.” Benson states. Weak Alpha.
“That gives us twelve scouts. We will send them out tomorrow in shifts. We need to know what the enemy is doing and possibly numbers.” I shake my head at Benson. He is the least prepared of all of us. I guess he never figured that he would actually have to do anything as an Alpha. “We already contacted the Elders about using the college as training grounds and Peter and I have been setting up the grounds with whatever we need to get the job done. How many trainers do you have?”
“We have six.” Peter.
“I have ten.” Shawn.
“I have four.” Benson.
“I have six as well. So that means we can outline the groups that our troops will go into and start the set up. We do have another trainer that will be starting late. But she will be training the teens. Till she is ready will be having the teens train with one of us each day. We will trade off.” I am so done with this meeting. I want to get back to the hospital.
“Why can’t the other trainer start with the rest of us?” Benson asks. He’s trying to find a weakness.
“Because she was stabbed with a hunters knife and will be in the hospital for a short time.” Peter answers. “She is recovering quickly but she still has a few more days in the hospital.”
“How did this happen? Were there hunters in your territory?” Shawn asks.
“No, one of our wolves went psycho and attacked her with it. He was dealt with.” Peter answered. I am a bit grateful even though it was not his wolf, he said our wolves. He is turning into a great partner to have.
“Let’s get a list together of all the wolves that need training and their level so that we can assign them to the correct trainer. How about we come back here this evening at say eight then we can assign them to the correct trainers.” I started to gather together what papers Peter and I brought and went to head out. “See you all later.”
I can’t wait to get back to the hospital, and let’s just say that it isn’t for the jello.
