Hey everyone, you’ve now met Adam who plays a very important part in this whole story. Adam kept his word and went to look up the case, to say he was shocked was a huge understatement, wanna see how it went down?
Adam was just washing the dishes from dinner while Nicole put the children to bed, he wasn’t around much so he liked to help as much as he could when he was. He just finished the last plate when he remembers what I asked him to do, he puts the plate on the draining board walking over to his laptop which was in the living room. He opens it pulling google open, as I said it was an active case, he liked to check the web to see what news articles there were before reading the police document. He wrote in the search bar the start of the name but it was the first option, he clicks it and realises it was a case of two missing people one being Freya Edwards. He clicks on the first article and nearly falls off his seat from shock and surprise, the Freya person he met today was the person who was missing. He scowls down the page starting to read, when a younger photo of Amelia pops up, he decides to read a section of the news article under that photo, which read.
“Freya Edwards and Amelia, were kidnapped at gun point while in a corner shop by a man called Anthony Richards, the police aren’t releasing many details of the case, but it may have some correlation to the death of Mr Richards wife and daughter a year ago.”
He was about to read more but the sounds of footsteps walking down the stairs causes him to quickly close the laptop, Nicole walks in standing in the doorway staring at him weirdly.
“Just work, I’ll come to bed soon” he smiles, with his hand on the laptop not wanting to seem suspicious, she just nods walking back upstairs mumbling a “sure you will” before disappearing up the stairs.
Once he saw she had fully left he reopens the laptop beginning to read the article once more, he couldn’t believe that he was sat in the house and didn’t know a thing. Right at the end of the article was a number for the lead officer called Jacob, he types the number in his phone while getting up closing the living to door, so Nicole wouldn’t hear.
“Hello, this is the line for the Freya Edwards case, can I have your name please” the woman on the other end says after after a few rings.
“Yes hello, I’m Adam Foster a private investigator, I need to talk to the lead officer Jacob urgently” he explains quickly, the woman asks him what information he knew, he knew the next sentence would blow her mind “information! I just had tea with her!” He exclaims.
That was the first step to us being able to get home, don’t get me wrong it didn’t just happen in a few days and it definitely wasn’t easy. Adam managed to finesse his way in to talking with Jacob the next morning, and as always Blake was with him and was about to hear the whole call. Let’s check it out.
Blake just walked into Jacobs office which he does every morning, Blake is here from 6am to 2am everyday. Whenever Jacob went home Blake knew he was still getting information on the case, Jacob informs him every morning what he knew. It was like any normal day, Blake was sat in the chair while Jacob held different pieces of paper talking.
Jacob was explaining they had visited over half of the house in the area Ink thought they might be, when an officer walks through the door.
“Caller on line 4, he claims he had tea with Anthony and Freya yesterday in Anthony’s house and knows where to find them” he quickly explains before leaving, Jacobs picks up his phone putting it on speaker going to line four.
“Hello, this is officer Dufner” he says, once he was connected to the line, Blake sits up straight hoping this call would lead him to find me.
“Hello I’m Adam Foster a private investigator, like I told the woman on the phone last night, I had tea yesterday in Anthony’s house with him and Freya” the guy on the phone says, sounding like he was in a car, before quickly continuing “he’s my wife’s brother, I’ve been working so I didn’t get to meet him before so I went around yesterday with my wife to meet him, his wife and daughter” he goes onto explain, while Jacob starts to take down notes in a notepad.
“At first I didn’t know who she was, as I’ve been working a case and I tend to stay away from the news until I’m finished, I was heading to the bathroom and Freya was making tea when she stops me and asks if I can look something up for her” he continues as Blake smiles little, she’s so smart he thought a few times listening to the call “well I finished dinner and decided to look, I rang as soon as I realised she was missing” he finishes, while Jacob nods finishing writing down notes, he was about to speak but Adam speaks up again.
“I’m heading there now, I’ll make an excuse that we left something there yesterday that I need to collect. Somehow I’ll manage to get Freya and Amelia out while giving you the location” he explains, but Jacob knew he had to stop him just knowing what Anthony was like from previous crimes.
“That’s not a good idea Mr Foster, Anthony Richards is highly dangerous and needs to be approached with extreme caution-” Jacobs tries to explain, but Adam hangs the phone up “how the fuck does that help? He didn’t tell us anything that could help us locate them, he’s just gonna kill himself” Jacobs says towards Blake, but mainly himself trying to call him back, but it kept going to voicemail.
“Johnson, in here now!” he shouts loudly, an officer runs in opening the door while Jacob tries the phone again “I need you to find me the location of his phone before it goes offline, if he’s not careful he’s gonna be another number on Anthony’s body count” he shouts, still trying the phone, the officer nods running out the office telling other officers as to do stuff.
Blake felt so confident at the start of the call but now, it was anyone’s guess how this was gonna go.
I don’t wanna give anything away, but you can probably tell what Anthony would do if he found out Adam was helping the police, Adam did show up that day and the police only could track his phone just before he hung up, which was still a mile and a half from where we were. I’m don’t wanna give anything away so I’ll stop here, let’s move on shall we?
