Chapter 17

Book:His Puppet Published:2024-5-1

It’s been just about a month since Anthony attacked his mother, the days have flown by so fast, Amelia and I just being trapped is this house. Anthony hardly leaves it either, he tries to sneak out when he thinks I’m asleep, I haven’t been able to sleep since his mother incident, I’ve been much too scared. He didn’t give me an explanation on what happened with his mother and told me just to forget I ever saw her, I don’t think the image of her laying on the floor will ever leave my head, it was horrifying.
The only thing that’s been keeping me together is Amelia, I know I can’t just give up cause that would mean I give up on her and break the promise I made to her mother that night. Anthony’s weird friends are always around the house, but spend most of their time in the basement, I’ve tried to see what was down there when the door was left open, but I heard Anthony walking over who closes the door.
I just making Amelia up a bottle when I hear John, Aidan and ink walk into the house being their loud selfs. They shout for Anthony who was upstairs before making their way into the kitchen where I was, I turn sending them a smile before getting back to what I was doing.
“Got any plans for today?” Aidan asks me politely, yeah I totally do, I’m staying in his house all day wondering whether I’m ever gonna get rescued, before I could answer, Anthony makes his way into the kitchen with Amelia.
“You’re early” he starts towards the guys as I turn with the finished bottle, taking Amelia off him “go wait in the basement until I’m ready” he orders them with a hard look, they nod quickly walking over to the basement door leaving just us three in the kitchen.
I begin to walk out the kitchen but Anthony takes my arm preventing me from doing so, I turn around sending him a questioning look he went to speak, but a smashing noise from the basement fills the house. He sighs releasing my arm walking towards the door shouting down the stairs at the guys, I see this as my opportunity to leave the kitchen and go to feed Amelia. A few minutes pass until I see Anthony lingering in the doorway of the sitting room staring at us, i pretend I don’t see him as the rest of the guys join him starting to talk.
“Why are you taking them to case the joint with you?” Ink asks, trying to be quiet but failing to do so, I once again make it seem like I didn’t hear anything and concentrating on Amelia.
“How suspect would it look with 4 guys walking round that place, if I take my girls we’ll just look like a family” Anthony explains in a duh tone, wait he said casing a joint, that means he’s planning on robbing whatever the heck he’s taking us too today.
Anthony sitting beside me on the sofa snaps me out it my thoughts, I send him a quick smile before directing my attention back to Amelia.
“Hey I just had a thought, why don’t we go out and do some house shopping?” He asks as though the idea just popped in his head, but I knew he was just discussing it with the guys, when I don’t speak he continues “I just thought, I’ve made all the decisions on the way this house looks, maybe we need to add your touch”he smiled pushing at the idea, i knew he wouldn’t let up and maybe this was my chance to be noticed for someone to call the police.
“Yeah okay sounds fun” I smile briefly towards him before looking away, he smiles placing a kiss on my head before walking away back over to the guys.
“I still can’t believe you’ve got a wife and a child Anthony” John was the first to speak which causes me to look up at the wall, I’m not his wife and this is not our child, the only people that know that is us, wait and ink.
“Seriously dude if you need the talk I will give it to you” Aidan jokes referring back to when I first met them which feels like years ago, I hear them walk back into the basement leaving me and Amelia still in the sitting room.
“I’m gonna get us out of here soon, maybe today will be our chance” I whisper to Amelia who looks up from her bottle sending me a little laugh, that’s the first time I’ve heard her laugh she pulls her bottle out laughing more putting a smile on my face.
A few hours later we were in the carpark of whatever the heck Anthony is taking us too, I hadn’t been out the house in a few weeks and it was now in the middle of winter which meant it was freezing. Once we pull up I get out the car making sure Amelia had her little coat on as Anthony pulls one of those slings things out, immediately when I saw it memories from the night we were taken fill my head as Amelia’s mum was carrying her in one of those. The one Anthony had just looked like a bit of material and by the looks of it I’m gonna need his help to put it on, it doesn’t take us as long as I thought Anthony weirdly knowing exactly how it went. I’m certain he’s had experience with little children he seems to know so much about all this stuff, I would say that he probably helped his sister with her kids but he told me he’d never met them until I met them.
Once we were ready we start making our way into the very posh looking shop, Anthony held on tightly to my hand, probably ensuring that I don’t try to run off anywhere. Once we enter the shop he immediately changes and starts to look around the shop, I just trail on beside him wondering where the furniture was located as this was all fancy artifices and not furniture. He hadn’t spoken to me yet and I was slowly growing alarmed at what was going around his head, as we get to the middle we’re stopped by one of the workers, who smiles over at us asking if we need any help.
“No, we’re just looking” Anthony smiles trying to walk off, but has to stop when the worker speaks again asking another question “once again we’re fine, I’ve been here a few times but if we need any help I’m sure I’ll come to you for the help, okay” he smiles, slightly annoyed at the woman who finally lets us walk away quite fast.
We stop at the end of the shop in the final aisle, right at the end was the door to the back, probably where they keep all the stock that hasn’t been put out yet. He stops picking up a random vase as a worker walks out the doors, Anthony tells me to wait there while he walks over to the worker holding up the vase.
They start a deep discussion about the vase while I just stand there, I’m there for a few seconds before realisation hits and the window for escaping opens.
