Damien’s POV
As she was standing in front, only few inches of gaps between us, I couldn’t help it but admire her. When she noticed the gap between us, a gasped left her.
She had a head down. I really wanted to see her face. I hold her chin and lifted her head up. She flinched slightly and had her eyes closed.
Our breathing was in sync. Her breathe tickled my face and so did mine. Having to see her face so close, I could see her feature clearer. The wrinkle in between her eyebrows when she is tensed. Her rose pink lips and her thick eyelashes.
Suddenly I sensed something in her face. Fear. There was clear evidence of fear in her face. Towards me. Immediately I let go of her and walked past her to the washroom.
My girl was afraid of me. I should be the person who chase away all her fears. Not the opposite way. But why is she afraid of me?
That is when I remembered what I said to her on the first day. “I will be your worst nightmare!” How stupid of me. How could I say that to her. What was I thinking?
I quickly opened the door to talk to her. But as I opened the door she quickly start walking. I tried to talk to her but soon we reached the living room.
Just then My dad and Mr knight came down. My father stated that its time we go back. Before we left, I looked at Amelia with determination of making her mine.
She will be mine and I will make sure of that.
Once I reached my house, I tried to come up with a plan to make her mine. I need to marry Olivia for the company. But I also need Amelia. There has to be a way.
How do I make her mine? I realised I cannot live without her. I have fallen for her. I tried to deny but I can’t anymore. She has to become mine.
Its like I can’t breathe without her. What has she done to me. Why am I feeling this way? I have never felt this way before. Not for any girl.
I would do anything for my company. Nothing is more important to me than my company but now all I can think is about her.
Am I in love with her? But how is that possible? I am the most ruthless businessman there is. I love the way people fear me. But when I saw fear in her face, I felt something in me shatter.
All of this thinking start to give me a headache. I poured myself a drink. After taking some sips, I realised something. Something that my father said.
“When you were born it was already decided that you marry one of his daughter.” this is what he said.
I had to marry one of his daughter. Not Olivia. This means I can marry Amelia and not Olivia. That’s a brilliant idea. I was so happy. I was actually smiling. And I never smile. Ever. After Amelia came into my life there has been so may emotions that I am feeling that I have never felt before.
This is going to be the first thing I do tomorrow. I am going to tell about this to my dad.
The next morning I called in my father telling him I need to discuss something important and he had asked me to meet him in his office.
I drove down to his office and went up to his room. When I entered, I saw him signing some of the files. As soon as I came he kept them away.
“Come on in son. What is it that you wanted to talk about?” he enquired.
“I am not marrying Olivia-” and before I can continue he spoke. “Son, I have told you that this decision is made. You have to marry Mr knight daughter for the company to become No. 1” he said with a sigh.
“I have yet to finish my sentence. I said I didn’t want to marry Olivia. I would like to Amelia instead.” I said with a finality in my voice.
“What? How is that possible?” he asked with confusion. “Why not? You said I had to marry one of his daughter. It doesn’t have to be Olivia.” I said with a smirk.
“But she is a young girl. And still in high school!” he exclaimed. I just rolled my eyes. ” I know that. She still can study after the wedding.” I said back.
“I don’t know son.” he said with a sigh. “Look father, is either I marry Amelia or the wedding is cancelled.” I said with no room for argument.
“Fine. I will ask Tristen about it and try to convince him.” he said. I mentally smiled. I nodded and turn to leave.
“Son, why do you insist on marrying Amelia?” my father asked. I had no idea on how to answer that. What do I tell him?
“Tell me son. Why Amelia?” he persisted. I am very sure he is trying to get the truth out of me which I am not gonna give him.
“That’s none of your business.” I said sharply. He just laughed. “Oh come on son. Of course its my business. Now tell me. Why do you persist on marrying Amelia?” he kept on going.
“Its nothing.” I said sighing. He laughed again. “Liar. You thought I never notice the way you were looking at Mia? Come on. I was once a Romeo too. That is the exact way I saw your mum when I was in love with her.”
“What! I am not in love with anyone. I am the most ruthless businessman. I don’t do love!!” I exclaimed. He just shake his head and laughed.
“Son. You can be the most ruthless businessman. But that doesn’t mean you cannot fall in love. Don’t take too much time to realise it. Its ok to fall in love.” he said finish. I dwelled on what he say. What he said is true.
I have made my heart a stone for so long. Now that Amelia came into my life, she has started to melt my heart without her realising. I am just worried on whether she deserve a cruel person like me. I just hope I made the right decision.
“Just speak to Mr knight about it.” I said as I sighed and start to walk away.. “You know I am right.” my father shouted and laughed. I just shook my head.
My father told me we will be going over to the Knight’s house to speak to them about it. I just hope Amelia agrees to it.
After I go back to my office, I can’t help it but think about what’s going to happen.
Either way, I will get what I want.
