Krista’s pov
Cheney has been cold to me for the past two days. I can only bear it silently, worrying about Romeo’s health, and I can’t eat well and sleep well.
The next morning, Cheney left the house on business. As soon as he left his front foot, Jacob broke into the Jade Court with several people.
The servant went upstairs and invited me down.
Jacob walked up to me with a mocking smile on his face, his voice full of contempt. “Mrs. Fischer, I have come to invite you to the front yard on the orders of my father. Please come with us.”
I looked at Jacob coldly, and his smile why did it give me a bad feeling?
When I came to the hall of the Plum Court, Grandpa was the only one in it.
I wonder, at this time where’s grandma?
I move onward despite my discomfort. “You’re looking for me, Grandpa.”
“Don’t call me Grandpa.” He shouted with a cold face.
“Do you have any orders, Father?”
He threw the paternity test results in front of him on the coffee table. “Cheney said that the child you gave birth to was his and that a paternity test was unnecessary. He believed you, but what about you? Is this how you show your appreciation for his trust in you?”
I’m not sure what the old man is talking about.
I bent and took the appraisal results off the table.
Are the paternity test results of Cheney and Romeo are invalid?
This… how is this possible? My heart is like a bolt from the blue.
I looked at Baldwin. “It’s impossible.”
“The evidence is in front of us, and you dare to say it is impossible? Krista, you are a really cunning woman. Fortunately, I insisted and gave them an appraisal. Otherwise, we Cheney don’t know what kind of fools you will make.”
“Father, this is impossible. There is something wrong with your appraisal result.”
“Nonsense,” he yelled. “This is an examination I personally arranged. How dare you deny that your private life is disorderly and you still dare to stand up to me now? Why, do you want me to believe you and not the evidence?”
I shook my head. “This is impossible. You can’t believe what kind of person I am, but I have never done anything sorry for Cheney. I won’t take the blame for this.”
“Don’t you dare deny it.”
I’m also in a hurry. “Why should I admit something I haven’t done myself?
“Okay, I’ll keep my mouth shut. Listen to me. Our Fischer family temple is small and can’t accommodate you as a big Buddha. No matter how Cheney opposes it this time, your marriage must be separated.”
I raised my chin. “I can divorce Cheney. Anyway, I never thought I could stay with you the Fischer family, but there are some things I have to make clear. I Krista, I don’t owe Cheney, never.”
Say that finish, I turned and walked out.
Upon returning to the Jade Court, I immediately packed my papers and necessary supplies into a simple bag.
I can’t keep this Fischer family.
Even if Cheney wants me to stay here, he won’t.
When Cheney comes back, I have to make things clear to him.
After I collected my things, I went to the balcony and sat down. I called Cheney, but he didn’t answer.
Less than half an hour later, Cheney came back.
He didn’t look well when he entered the room.
When I saw him come in, I got up and walked up to him. “Cheney, you saw the appraisal results of the old man.”
He pulled me to my suitcase as soon as he grabbed my wrist. “What are your plans? Is it possible to escape? What are you going to do this time if you don’t want children? ‘Abscond from the crime scene’?”
My brows have frost stains on them. “Is it possible to abstain from sin because of a fear of sin? You also believe I lied to you and that Romeo is my child from another man?”
Cheney’s pov
I looked at the stubbornness in her eyes. Just now I went to the Jade Court, and my grandfather showed me the appraisal results. At first, I was also shocked.
Romeo, that kid is a bit like me when I was a kid.
I firmly believe that Romeo is indeed my child.
Besides, I think from the bottom of my heart that Krista will not cheat me.
I always feel that there is something wrong with this.
I was bent on solving the problem, but when I came back, I saw her luggage.
When encountering problems, she doesn’t want to solve them, but just wants to escape.
Oh, what a Krista.
In her eyes, I will always be the easiest one to give up, right?
She had a stubborn expression on her face as she gazed at me. She said, after she had laughed again, “Romeo is really not your child. I am a woman with a simple virtue. I see one and sleep with another. There isn’t a single man I dislike. Even I have no idea who Romeo’s wild man is…”
I kissed her and threw her into bed. “Isn’t it a simple virtue, like being slept by men? Then I’ll make you feel better.”
Saying that, I ripped off my coat and bent down to suppress her.
Her voice was filled with despair. “Why… why do you want to hurt me like this?”
I stopped moving.
“Why humiliate me in this way.” She closed her eyes.
“What I hate most is betrayal. How can I turn myself into the kind of person I hate the most? I’ve only slept with you in my life, but why, why didn’t my parent-child relationship with Romeo stand up according to the appraisal results given to me by Grandpa?”
“Cheney, have you thought about whether I lied to you or whether Grandpa really wanted to kick me out of the Fischer’s mansion? ”
I lay on her body with my head gently resting beside her face.
I can clearly see her face with closed eyes, full of despair.
She muttered angrily, “I’m willing to take any punishment for anything I did wrong, but I didn’t do anything wrong. It’s too much for me. I don’t ask your family to be kind to me. I only hope you haven’t done me any pain. You should do an in-person paternity test with Romeo. You should not rely on others’ hands; instead, you should go yourself.”
I stared at her for a long time, and finally, I rolled over and got off her, got out of bed and walked in the direction of the door.
I walked to the door and turned to look at her. “If you leave quietly, I will take it as if you gave up Romeo. From then on, you will never see him again, forever.”
