“What is going on here?” a voice said from behind them.
Dimitri tensed the more upon hearing the familiar voice before she took her arms that were around his torso and got off her hold then turned around to see Aiden who was frowning deeply and looking from him to her.
“Why did you leave? What is going on?” he asked again, taking a step towards them.
Dimitri didn’t say a word, rather he just kept looking at his friend like he was going to send him a message but it seemed like it wasn’t getting through to him.
“Did you leave there just to be here with her?” he asked and the look on Dimitri’s turned to a glare.
“Don’t insult me by telling me that. You of all people know me very well and you are aware of what and what I am capable of” said Dimitri.
“No doubt about it bro but what about her” he nods to Daniella who was just watching and listening to what the both of them were saying.
“What about me? You know about me and Dimitri and how close we are so don’t ask that,” she said then turned to Dimitri with a smile. Placing her hand on his shoulder, she drew with the tip of her finger till it reaches his wrist then back again.
“I am sure you missed me a lot” she whispered.
Dimitri didn’t answer and neither did she look her way. His focus was just on his best friend who stood there looking at him also.
“Does she know?” he asked.
Daniella looked at Aiden when he asked the question.
“I doubt she knows except” she looked at Dimitri again and this time he was looking at her but not like he would do when they were together. “Dimitri has told her”
“I need to leave,” Dimitri said turning in the way he was going but was stopped by the grip of Daniella’s palms around his bicep.
He looked at his arm then at her then at his arm again before shrugging her hold but she didn’t release him and tightened her hold instead.
“We need to talk Dimitri,” she said and he stopped.
His body began to shake and his heart rate went faster than usual. He frowned but didn’t turn to face her. His legs felt like jellies but he tried his best to keep himself put.
“We…” hearing how shaken he sounded, he cleared his throat and continued. “We have nothing to say,” he said a bit quickly not trusting his voice to sound okay and make a move to walk away but was stopped by the next thing that came out of her mouth.
“Dont you want closure?”
And that was it. He thought he had at least and to some extent gotten over that but no, it was still there and he couldn’t bring himself to forget. Flashes of the past went through his mind and he heard the voices that would sometimes haunt him when he was alone and thinking.
His body was now shaking and his legs felt more jelly than before and weren’t sure if he would be able to hold himself any longer. He couldn’t tell if it showed he was visibly shaking or not but he wanted to get out of there.
With the little strength he could gather, he took his arm from her hold and immediately placed one of his palms on the wall for support, and then lean the side of his body on the wall so he doesn’t fall to the ground.
“Dimitri, are you oka-”
“Llevarla lejos” he said shakily and still trying to put his weight on the wall so his legs don’t give up on him.
“? A qué te refieres con llevarme lejos? no me voy de aqui” she spat already getting angry.
“Let’s leave now, Dimitri doesn’t want you around him” Aiden began walking towards her and she pointed at him and gave him a scared but crazy look and she moved to the other side.
“Don’t come near me” she warned.
“Let’s do this the easy way darling, you do not want to get on my nerves” Aiden spoke coldly and walked really fast to her.
She turned to flee but didn’t have the luxury to do so as Aiden had already grabbed her wrist and brought her closer to himself.
“I told you we should be civil with each other, don’t fight it lets g-” she interrupted him by slapping his face with her free hand.
He closed his eyes and counted to three in his head and opened them and this time it held anger and coldness.
“I guess you love it hard and that is what I would be,” he said and held her arm tightly then turned to his friend who was already sitting on the floor and had his head leaning back on the floor with his eyes closed.
“Should I call Audriana?” he asked looking concerned.
“No, just leave” he replied still not opening his eyes.
With that, Aiden placed his lips closer to Daniella’s ear and whispered.
“I will be escorting you out of the party and I don’t want a crazy woman on our way or I will handle you like a crazy woman, are we clear darling?” he whispered and she glared at him trying to release her arm from his tight grip.
“Good, now lead the way” he released her arm and waited for her to move forward.
Instead of moving forward she turned and wanted to walk in the direction she came in but Aiden stood in her way.
“Nah doll, not there move forward” he took her wrist and began walking, dragging her with him.
“You stupid Aiden Cameron,” she spat angrily and tried to get his grip off her wrist but he didn’t budge and continued walking.
“Dimitri are you there?” a feminine voice said and Aiden hastened his steps and turned a corner then walked out of the door with the exasperating woman by his side.
“I hope she didn’t hear your squeaky voices” Aiden muttered and moved down the small stairs then walked her to the front of the mansion when they had left the building.
