It’s been a week since Lilliana’s death and they all have been preparing for her burial. The previous day was her wake keep and Sofia insisted they did all the burial rites quickly as she doesn’t think she can handle the long process mentally.
So now the burial will be taking place on the Friday of next week and preparations for the burial were still ongoing.
“You sure you’re good?”
She turned to look at her fiance who was sitting beside her on the couch as they watch a TV show. Smiling, she nods and puts her head on his shoulder.
“I am fine Max”
“If you want me to call Audriana so you can have more girl time I could do that” he suggested.
She chuckled and wrapped her arms around his torso.
“I am fine, really. Yeah, I wanted some alone time with my girl because she has been there for me in my dark days but, I have you now, and” she turned her head so she was looking at him.
“I can share my happy and sad moments with you. I will still share with her because she is my sister for life but you are my fiance and I want to share those with you too” she smiled and he reciprocate it.
“I am relieved. I too want to us share our happy and sad days with each other, we are going to be together forever and we should know that” he said to her and placed a kiss on her forehead.
“Ti amo Sofia” he whispered to her.
“Yo tambien te amo Max” she whispered back and lay her head on his chest as they continue watching the show.
‘Things will happen for good’ she assured herself.

“Hi, Emily” Audriana was working from home that day and was at the same time preparing the test questions she would give her students when she resumed the next Monday.
“Hi Audriana, how are you?” she spoke excitedly from the other side of the phone.
“I am good, Em, how are you too? How is the baby kicking?”
She sighed.
“I am fine, still on bed rest, and which of the babies are you talking about?” she asked teasingly.
“Oh please, you know the baby I am talking about. Caleb is your baby, I am talking of my niece or nephew” she answered with a laugh.
“Yeah, I know. He is kicking very well. I think he will as troublesome as his dad” she commented.
“Troublesome? Caleb is one of the most gentlemen I have ever come across” just then Dimitri came in and had a frown on his face as he looked at her.
He was wearing is usual work clothes only that his jacket was nowhere to be found.
She looked away and tried to ignore his presence and picked up her pen then began playing with it.
“Oh then, I guess I am the only one seeing that side of him” she giggled.
“Is he there with you?”
“Yes, he is making funny faces at me and even dancing for me. He is so adorable, he doesn’t want me to think too much about my condition” she said.
“Aww, such a good man. Caleb could brighten up your day no matter how sad you might feel” she said and her eyes reverts to Dimitri who started walking towards her.
When he was close to the bed he sat there then took off his shoes.
She raised an eyebrow at him but he just looked away and lay down on the bed in front of her with his hands behind his head.
She wondered what he is doing at home by this time in the afternoon if he didn’t forget something at home. He just came here to lay in front of her. Strange, what a strange man.
They hadn’t really talked much these past few days or even, at all. He will just go to work early as before and would come home when she is sleeping and if she isn’t he will go to his study to continue his work there.
“Audriana? Are you there?” she heard Emily say from the other line and shook her head forgetting the fact that she was on a call.
“Uh… yeah, yeah I am here” she whispered and looked away from Dimitri. “What were you saying before?” she asked missing out on most of the things Emily was saying.
“Really? You didn’t hear all that I was saying since?” she asked with a laugh.
“Sorry, I was a bit…”
“Distracted” Dimitri’s deep voice completed for her.
“Di–distracted” she cleared her throat and glared at him but when she did he wasn’t laying down anymore rather he was facing her while laying of his side with his hand supporting his head.
His hazel eyes looked at her intently and she felt warmness growing on her cheeks.
“Dimitri is there? He didn’t go to work today?” she asked.
“Uh, yes” Audriana replied.
“Well then, I don’t want to disturb your time with your hubby seeing as Caleb is trying to make me laugh so hard at the moment, baba stop” she giggled as she completed her sentence.
“No, you aren’t disturbing me. We could continue talking” she said to her but the phone was already disconnected.
“Oh man, now I will be bored” she muttered.
“You can’t be, I am here,” Dimitri said and she looked at him with a deep frown.
“What do you want? Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be at work? You don’t co-”
“I was feeling a bit tired of work and wanted to come back home so we can go somewhere to relax since you are working from home and we both have been working and working and working these past days.
“An outing to just relieve some stress and have a bit of fun, but…” he stood up and her eyes followed him.
“I guess I’m not wanted anyways” he finished and turned to leave but she immediately grabbed his arms and pulled him closer to her with a smile on her face.
“No, I want to go,” she said and he nods then released himself from her hold and tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
“Well then go get ready, something simple, okay?” he said walking away from her. “Not like your clothes aren’t already simple enough” he muttered as he left the room.
No matter how much they talk, he will still find a way of saying something to her but she was going to let this slide because he was thoughtful enough to want them to both relax after a while of working so much.
Dimitri Lorenzo that would not care if she was bored in this house when most of the time he leaves her in. He wants to take her on a date, even though he didn’t say so, she was going to count this as one of them.
Excitedly she closed her laptop and went to take a quick shower before settling on a high waist blue denim trouser with a gold halter neck, brown jacket, and pair of white sneakers.
She put her hair up in a messy bun and took a pair of sunglasses because of the sun. She just applied a bit of lip gloss and after thirty minutes of getting dressed, she was ready.
She hoped she didn’t take that much time and went down the stairs to meet with Dimitri.
He was sitting on the sofa while scrolling through his phone and looked up to see her dressed with a smile on her face.
He stood up and walked to the door while she followed him.
No compliments but it’s fine, she can deal with this in the meantime.
