She turned and stretched before gradually opening her eyes to meet an empty bedroom again like she has been seeing for the past two days.
Since she lashed out on Dimitri, he had busied himself with work and would avoid anything that would make them talk aside the usual greetings each time they cross each other way.
When she told him to rest since he was still healing, he would reply that he had tons of work piled up for him and he needed to attend to them.
Although he still took the medications, she isn’t sure he takes the right amount of sleep he needs to take for him to heal faster and properly since he is always in his study.
Now they are back to square one.
The no talking or contact aside greetings when we see each other is now reigning.
She let out a sigh and lay in bed for a while before deciding to check the time as it was a bit dark outside.
She switched on her phone by pressing the power button and the screen came on showing her bestie holding her belly and smiling at the camera. She smiled and checked the time.
Six thirty-four am, it says.
“Six thirty-four am” she muttered and lay back down. “What a lovely morning, six thirty-four am”
Then it rang. She sprang up from laying down to a sitting position and held her head because of how dizzy she felt due to her sudden act.
“Oh my, that was…” she shook her head and waited for some time then stood up from the bed and checked the time again. “Six thirty-nine,” she said and quickly rushed to the bathroom to freshen up.
Thank GOD she already packed her bags the previous night.
“I could still meet up”

“Okay, does lover boy know you are leaving today?” Sofia asked as she walked out of the taxi and picked up her bags with the help of the driver.
“Thank you” she tipped him and he bowed down in appreciation before taking his leave. “Yes, I guess,” she said to her friend and walked inside the airport to wait for the next flight since she missed her initial flight.
“Audri, really? I know you guys aren’t real but can’t you both try to be civil with each other at least?”
“Well, we tried that and it didn’t work as you can see” she raised her voice a bit and looked around to see some people glance at her due to her outburst and had to stop walking to calm down.
She put her face in her palm and let out a sigh.
“I am sorry Sof, I shouldn’t have talked to you in such a manner, I am sorry” she apologized and heard a sigh on the other side of the phone.
“No, it’s fine. I understand, but you guys should just try. Being friends will not kill you” she chuckled a bit “I will tell Aiden and Caleb to talk to him so he minds how he speaks to you or he will have to answer to me”
Audriana laughed and continued to the waiting area and sat down when she found an empty seat.
“Okay, I will put a call through to him, and whether he answers or not I am leaving, I will call you before I board the plane.
“Sure bestie, please take care okay? And bring me candies and food, especially meat” she whispered the last part. “Max is limiting my intake of meat, dude is controlling,” she said.
“You know I can hear you?” she heard a male voice say in the background and laughed.
She knew that was something Sofia would do, she has been in that position countless times.
“Say hi to Max for me and take care of you and my little nephew,” she said.
“Oh come on, why are you and Max thinking this is a boy? I stan a baby girl and oh babe, Audri says hi”
“Hey Audri, have a nice trip” she heard Max say and heard kissing sounds and rolled her eyes.
“Thank you and seriously? you would have disconnected the line before making me third-wheel. Bye, take care”
“Sure we will and call the man, have fun baby girl” she smiled and heard a ‘come here’ before the line was disconnected.
“Kids, she muttered and heard a lady’s voice say from the speakers announcing to them to start making their way to where they would board the plane.
She stood up and scrolled to Dimitri’s contact and pressed the dial button and placed it to her ears.
It rang for some time before she disconnected it.
“I don’t know why I bothered in the first place.” she dialed her friend’s line but it wasn’t going through so she sent a text message instead and went ahead to board the plane.

His phone has been ringing since morning and it all came from a number he didn’t recognize. He picked at first and heard nothing aside from the breathing of someone on the other line.
‘Strange’ was his thoughts. So he didn’t bother checking after the number called about three more times and continued working.
Then his mind drifted to someone that has been sort of distracting him these past days. He had already started getting comfortable with her sweet treatment towards him and went to the extreme of faking being in pain so she pays more attention to him.
And she did so. He wasn’t sure if the treatments were because she felt guilty he was injured or she was just letting her caring side take over her mean side to him.
‘I guess she is only mean to me’ he thought to himself and smiled as he remembered the time they spent together before and after he got discharged.
… “Treat me like you would treat the man you care about” …
The words he said to her came across his mind and he grimaced at how needy he sounded saying such rather than asking for such.
“Really Dimitri?” he asked aloud and leaned back on his chair and closed his eyes.
Her brown eyes were what he saw hovering over him with that kind smile she possesses. A smile that can bring any man to his knees just for her. A smile that could brighten anyone’s day.
“Tan hermosa, hermosa” he whispered and raised his hand to touch her beautiful face but all that daze was interrupted by the ringing of his phone.
He jolt up and looked around to see he was still in his office with no trace of his wife anywhere. He sighed and groaned that he was interrupted from that awesome daze.
She was to fly to L. A, today and he left early so he doesn’t have to see her leave and give her something to cry about as she goes.
He really wanted to call to tell her to have a safe trip but his egoistic self disagreed. She was supposed to call him instead not him calling her.
Looking at the time, he decided to round off and close for the day, he called his assistant to email him the remaining work and picked up his phone to see numerous missed calls and one caught his eyes.
“She called? When?” he unlocked his phone and checked the time she called to see that it was recently.
It was her call that woke him up.
“Damn” he muttered and told himself to call her when he gets home.
Hopefully, he remembers or better still she calls back.

Tan hermosa, hermosa – So beautiful, gorgeous.
