“What do you want? Go already”
“About that man” he started.
“Oh, you mean the thoughtful young man who saved me and was so caring enough to come to check on me, and oh” she gave a dramatic pause then gestured to the sunflowers “He brought me flowers” she inhaled them then gave a satisfying sigh.
“My favorite at that”
“Thought they were lilies” he muttered and she heard but decided to let it go.
How could he have known that? She didn’t tell him, then remembered her bestie and friends are related to him. They could have hinted at him.
“So, Caleb and Aiden aren’t enough company for you so you decided to add up more to the party right? If you feel so lonely why don’t you hang out with Sofia like you do or Aiden and Caleb” he said angrily and she glared hard at him?
“At least Aiden will be more than happy to keep you company,” he said with clenched teeth.
She let out a gasp and placed her palm on her chest with her eyes wide open. What did she just hear? Was he talking to her in that manner? Like that? What does he mean by lonely? She isn’t lonely… What was his problem this time around?
“I definitely can’t stop you from seeing him so I don’t seem like the controlling one,” he raised his hands like putting the words in a single quote. “But just note this, you need to stay faithful, we are married, and don’t forget that. I can’t deal with any stupid sca-” he was cut short by the landing of Audriana’s soft palm on his cheeks.
His head turned to the side and wondered how she got up that fast from the bed and walked to him. His palm touched his cheeks and flinched at the sting her palm caused. She looked so delicate but wild on the inside, her palm is soft but the stinging of his cheek tells him never to judge a book by its cover.
He looked back to Audriana whose chest kept heaving up and down so fast, he thought she would have a heart attack. Her face was red with anger and what she thought of at the moment was…
“You know there is a big difference between being confident and being a narcissist and guess what? you fall for the latter” she watched his mood go down when she said it.
“At least you can recognize me for something but I hate the words you use on me” his eyes went o her pink lips before going back to looking into her “I would watch my words if I were you” he took his hands from holding his stinging cheeks to put them in his pocket then moved a step closer to her.
She wanted to move back because he was intimidating her but instead, she stood her ground still looking deep into those hazel eyes of his.
“Dont do something stupid and make me clean your mess, I have warned you, I hate cheaters” he looked at her lips then back to her eyes. “And don’t think that kiss meant something to me, I have kissed lots of women, and you aren’t the best I have kissed. Dont let it get to your head Love” he tapped her cheeks and leaned in to kiss them.
“Get out,” she said then pushed him away from her.
He looked at her but he made no attempt of leaving. She cleaned the cheek he placed the kiss on then pointed to the door.
“Leave,” she said again and he flinched at how cold and harsh she sounded.
He might have pushed a button seeing that she was on the verge of crying but her glare was trying to keep them in.
“Lo-”
“I am going to hit you in the nuts next if you don’t take your leave now,” she said, still pointing at the door.
Knowing how much he loved himself he decided to leave since his… was at risk and can’t spare any more pain she would cause him, the slap was enough and he looked at her from head to toe before walking out of her hospital room and closing the door behind him.
When he left she put her face in her palm and sat on the floor letting the tears pour. She needed a cry, a good one and she wanted that alone. So she stood up and went to lock the door so she could continue to cry in the comfort of her hospital room.

“Really? He just left?” Sofia asked putting more chips in the bowl they were eating from as they watched reruns of their favorite TV show. “I thought he wanted some alone time with you when you guys started getting mushy”
Audriana just shrugged and drank all her Fanta.
“I need more” she dumped the can in the trash can Sofia brought closer to the bed.
Sofia took some from the table beside her and passed it to her friend.
“Thank you”
“Welcome girl” she took a sip from her sprite and put it down on the table before turning to her friend.
“Audriana Loveth Kingsley Lorenzo”
Audriana paused as she was about to put some chips in her mouth.
“Oops! Did I do something wrong?” she turned to her friend with wide-opened eyes.
“Tell me the truth,” she began.
“Okay… about what?”
“Do you like Dimitri?”
Then she released the breath of air she kept in and laughed nervously feeling her palm sweat and put the chips in her mouth so it doesn’t get wet.
“What? So that’s what you wanted to ask me that you call me by my full name” she put more chips in her mouth “You scared me there” she turned her attention back to the TV.
Sofia took the remote and turned off the TV
“Hey! I was going to see what happened to Tyler, come on” she frowned at Sofia.
“Tell me Audri, do you like him?”
Audriana let out a sigh and looked down then brought her eyes back to look at her friend and shrugged.
“I don’t know, he is cute… handsome… bad attitude… I don’t know, not a good mix I must say” she continued her eating.
“I understand his behavior isn’t something to write home about but it’s okay to… you know feel. We are humans and we feel, especially when we leave with that same gorgeous person every time,” she said and Audriana turned to look at her again.
“Oh GOD, I called him gorgeous” Sofia muttered and shuddered. “Don’t tell him that, I really don’t want him having the upper hand”
“Sure”
“I remember when I used to have a crush on Aiden and you on Caleb”
“Oh shut up,” Audriana pushed her a bit and they both laughed. “Like come on, who could blame us? Those guys are hotties” they both fanned themselves and giggled some more.
“Yeah, but now I think Aiden has taken a liken to you”
“How sure are you about it Sof? He flirts with you almost every time”
“Aiden flirts with anything that breathes so…”
“Oh yeah, but I am married now and he would find the right girl just as Caleb found Emily and you found yours.”
“Max isn’t a girl”
“He is your partner,” she said and Sofia rolled her eyes at her
“And before you say anything or ask about our relationship, we are good. That’s what you need to know”
“Sof, I don’t want you to do what I am doing. I don’t want you to be heartbroken. Your mum’s health issues have been enough heartache for you and you don’t need another thing to add to it at this time.”
“Thank you so much Audri, I don’t know where I could see someone like you ever.” They both hugged each other.
“Well, you can’t find any weirdo” they both giggled and pulled away from the hug.
“So, you like Dimitri now”
“Oh no, I thought I had already diverted this topic already” Audriana muttered and used her fingers to massage her forehead.
“Well, so far I am your bestie…” she pointed in between them “We are going to have this discussion”

“I really don’t want to ask this but you are my bestie,” she adjust so she was facing Audriana “So tell me how it feels?”
Audriana just rolled her eyes and closed her eyes trying her best to force sleep hoping it would drive her bestie out of the room.
