Dimitri walked down the stairs more like leaped down the stairs and head for the kitchen. He stepped into the kitchen and saw a blond man with his back to him.
Confused, he paused ‘Wait, I didn’t bring anyone last night, did I? And if I did, I couldn’t be a man, right?’ he asked himself.
The blond man obviously feeling a presence behind him turns and flashes him a smile but he instead got a scowl from Dimitri as he made his way further into the kitchen and took a seat on one of the stools.
“The king is awake,” Aiden said, still wearing a smirk.
“What are you doing here?” Dimitri asked, rubbing his eyes off any sleep.
“Don’t you remember? I brought you home after you got your nut smashed last night” Aiden let out a little chuckle and brought two cups of coffee and placed it on the counter.
Dimitri took one and took a sip of the wonderful goodness. He let out a sigh, it seemed to have calmed him.
“Where is Caleb?” He adjusted on the seat.
“He left with Emily quite early last night” he took a loud annoying sip from his coffee just to annoy Dimitri and he got the reaction he wanted to see, a frown on his face.
“He said she was not feeling too good,” Aiden shrugged.
“Okay, I hope she is fine” Dimitri took a gulp from the coffee when he was sure it wasn’t hot anymore.
“Yeah she would be” Aiden went to take another cup of coffee “So how’s your…”
“My what?” Dimitri still had a frown on his face.
“You know, little you that got smashed” he came back to the counter and put another cup full of coffee on the counter table.
“I am not little,” Dimitri said quite annoyed “And I am fine, I guess” he rubbed his face and ran his hands through dark hair then back to his face. “That hurts, I wouldn’t lie”
Aiden had a little grimace on his face, obviously feeling what his friend felt yesterday.
“It still hurts as bad as yesterday?” he asked
Dimitri thought for a while “Nope, but I can feel a bit crampy there”
“Sorry, I know I shouldn’t have laughed but, I was seriously expecting a slap” he let out a little laugh “Not what she did” Aiden paused in thought “Seems she’s gone wild” he took a sip from his coffee.
“She is wild. Well not that kind of wild, but you understand the kind of wild I am talking about” he said “I wouldn’t lie she did look great yesterday” he muttered after a while.
You look needy
He remembered what he had told her last night, he didn’t mean to have said that he was just vexed at the fact that she had a great effect on him and he doesn’t want that kind of effect, not at this moment.
With a sigh, he muttered “I really need to get laid”
“Wait, did I catch what you just said?” Aiden had a frown on his face.
“Well you heard right, I need to –”
“I heard you, look Aiden came around the counter to stand in front of his friend “you are not going to cheat on Audriana”
“Who said I am cheating, all this is a facade, it isn’t real. She won’t give me what I want, the best I can do is get what I want from those who won’t hesitate to please me.”
“Are you kidding me? You are going to be doing the one thing that made you this messed up… do you think it’s worth it?” Aiden asked looking all serious “And mind you we are talking about Audriana here”
“So? What’s so special about her? What’s with you guys and knowing her or being overprotective of her? Were you really a couple? Not like it bothers me” Dimitri could see a smirk form on his friend’s face.
“So much for not liking a girl”
“I don’t –”
“I didn’t say anything, a girl can be any girl, right?” Dimitri just rolled his eyes at him and stood up from his seat.
“I need more sleep and you should be out of here by the time I wake up” he made his way out of the kitchen.
“I saw her,” Aiden said.
Just as he left and turned to the right he halted in his steps, came back to the kitchen with a frown on his face, and took a look at his friend.
“What?”
***
“Really? That must hurt so much” Sofia let out a laugh.
She and Audriana were in her living room eating fruit and yogurt
“I do feel bad though,” Audriana said while playing with the watermelon on her plate.
She ran her hands through her hair before putting it in a messy bun.
“You shouldn’t, I guess he deserves it… he thinks everyone is fawning over him and he could kiss and sleep with anyone he chooses to, the way he likes and no one could question him. I am just not too comfortable with the fact that you are marrying him. Honestly, I am not.” Sofia put a spoonful of yogurt in her mouth.
“I am not pleased either, but I can’t let Bernard Tech just go away like that… aside from the fact that Dad and I worked hard for the company to grow to this stage it is in, what of the people working for us?” Audriana sighed.
“It can’t get that bad, right? He is human at least” she shrugged.
“Yeah Audri, you are right” Sofia nods
They were silent for a while, munching the variety of nicely chopped fruits in front of them and the yogurt.
“But I can promise one thing, if he hurts you I will kill him” Audriana’s eyes opened slightly wide “Well not literally” she adds.
“I will be fine, okay. I am so glad for Emily and Caleb, their engagement party will be in a week or two if I am not mistaken?” Audriana asked.
“Yeah, I guessed it was because he knocked her up”
“Sofia” Audriana hit her arm with her spoon.
“Ouch!, you lady, what the hell is your problem?” she asked, rubbing the spot Audriana hit her.
“They seem to be in love, he couldn’t just have married her just because of that”
“Yeah whatever Mary” Sofia muttered the last part to herself.
“Sorry, were you talking to me?” Audriana asked and Sofia stuck her tongue out at her. “Very mature”
“Just eat”
“Wait a minute, who was that guy I saw you with yesterday? You said his name was…”
“Max!” Sofia completed for her and brushed some fallen strands from her eyes behind her ear.
“Max… who is he?” she inquired.
“Just a friend,” Sofia answered uninterestedly. She kept eating and looked up to her friend when she heard no comment from her friend.
One of Audriana’s brows was raised up questioningly and her hands were folded under her bust.
“Just a friend?” she spoke when Sofia made no attempt of saying anything.
“Yes, he is just a friend”
“Just a friend I know nothing about? I am still shocked at the fact that you and Dimitri are cousins”
“Yeah, me too. I was pitying the lady he was going to marry when I heard he was getting married. Turns out it was my bestie” Sofia rolled her eyes
“I hope you found bits of your sense while rolling your eyes, but seriously who is he? Someone special?” Audriana wiggled her brows
“Mmm.” was what she let out.
“So he is actually someone special? Hmm… when did you meet him?” she asked and turned to look at her friend.
“Some weeks ago” Sofia replied with a hint of blush on her cheeks.
“Aww, she’s blushing. You must really like him, tell me about him”
Sofia began telling her and Audriana teased her when the need arises.
A few minutes later
“So…” Audriana said as she got up from sitting on the floor “if you need me, I would be in my room trying to fix some bugs”
“When are you not fixing bugs” Sofia muttered
“Sorry?” Audriana looked at her friend.
“Nothing, bye”
Audriana just shakes her head and carried her laptop bag then went to the kitchen to drop off the dishes she used before heading to her room.
