Charles looked at her strangely as she passed him up. He then looked down the hall to see if he can see who she might have been with or where she came from. Amelia quickly entered her room and closed the door behind her. As she entered King Erich sat in her room.
“Oh my, my grace what are you doing here? You startled me” She said.
He stood up and walked towards her.
“I was just checking in on you, that storm was terrifying.” King Erich replied.
“Where were you?” He added.
She grabbed at her cloak and said “Oh I was just roaming the halls, I did that a lot in Landford when I could not sleep.”
He smiled and nodded his head.
“You were gone for a while and without protection, my dear girl, that could be very dangerous.” King Erich stated.
“I was not too far my Lord, did not even leave this corridor, as a matter of fact, I bumped into Charles, who could not sleep also,” Amelia said.
King Erich looked at her suspiciously.
“I am safe, my grace. No need for concern.” She added.
In Willshire, King Paul was planning his reign. With his worries about Willshire’s future, he had become angry, bitter and very greedy. His anger towards Amelia was intense since he felt she betrayed him with the release of Thomas. He had received notice that Amelia was still alive and in Schillingburg Castle, which angered him more, especially after speaking with Sir Guillaume and him acted like Amelia did not exist.
“Logan, is it definitely Amelia is at Schilingburg Castle?” King Paul asked.
“Yes, my liege, a trusted informant said she lives there, he came face to face with her,” Logan answered.
“Then why would Sir Guillaume act like he did not know of her.” King Paul pondered.
“Perhaps he is protecting her, my Lord. He is a Knight.” Logan replied.
“Perhaps” King Paul whispered as he looked out the window.
“You know Logan, that is not acceptable! Amelia’s betrayal and now Sir Guillaume’s disloyalty, I will offer a bounty on both their heads, Lady Amelia and Sir Guillaume for treason.” King Paul said.
Logan paced uneasy to this news.
“If you do that, you will create an all out war, everyone will be out to get them, my Lord” Logan answered.
“Sounds like a personal problem for them.” King Paul said as he laughed.
“My Lord, she is still your sister. You should show compassion for her” Logan stated.
“Compassion? Really? She betrayed her kingdom, MY kingdom. She committed the ultimate crime, she released the murderer of her brother, who we shall not forget was King at the time. So I say as sister, she is dead to me. She is a now a fugitive of Willshire and the sentence for that is death. No matter who you are!” He said as he wrote out the order.
“Oh and do not send Schillingburg or Landford notice about it, I would like their capture to be a surprise to all especially the two fool headed Kings who have hidden her from her real destiny.” King Paul ended.
The word went out in Willshire that afternoon.
King Paul affirmed that if Lady Amelia of Landford and Knight Sir Guillaume were caught within Willshire/St. Vangaltier city limits they are to be brought to Willshire Castle alive so King Paul can put them both to death. The gold amount offered was more than anyone could imagine. So now every bandit was out to get them, any which way they could.
