“I cannot believe you watched two episodes without me!”
“Hey, you said you didn’t like Netflix.”
“But you got me addicted to it!”
“Well, that’s not my issue.” I meekly replied.
Alex glared at me. “Fine, I’ll change the password and not give it to you.”
I gasped and pointed my finger in warning. “You wouldn’t dare.”
Alex smirked. “Try me!”
“I knew it was a mistake introducing you to the Netflix series.”
Alex grabbed the remote and folded his hands. “Now I will watch the two episodes while you wait till I complete it.”
I groaned, falling back on the couch. “That’s not fair!”
“You watching it without me is not fair.” He snapped back, slapping my feet off the table.
I stuck out my tongue and mentally whined as the episode started. I opened my mouth but Alex beat me to it.
“If you give me even one spoiler, I swear I will smack you to Antarctica.”
My mouth snapped shut back and I huffed. “Fine. Rich boy.”
“I am starting to like that name now.” Alex replied.
I twisted my lips at him and sat there next to him sulking.
After ten minutes I was already bored and wanted to do something. I looked at Alex who was staring intently at the screen as Stranger things played.
I scooped closer to him, staring at his symmetrical face. I lost count of the seconds I kept staring.
“Myra? Why are you staring?”
I blinked and leaned back, clearing my throat. “So um about that um.” I scratched the back of my neck.
Alex raised his eyebrows. “About what?”
A small blush covered my face. “I think I have a deficiency.”
“Really? What happened?” his tone turned worried. “Are you sick?”
I shook my head. “Um Vitamin D deficiency.”
There was a long pause and I glanced at Alex through my eyelashes who sat there stunned at my words.
“Really Myra? Just so I can’t watch Netflix you’ll do that?”
I shook my head violently. “No no, I am serious.” I scratched the back of my neck nervously. “So what exactly are we waiting for?”
I saw his throat move as he swallowed and I would be lying if I didn’t find that hot. Oh dear, the dirty mind in me had taken over.
“Um.” He cleared his throat. He looked away and I crossed my arms.
“Do you not want to?”
Alex closed his eyes and sighed. “I want to.” He breathed out. “This is the longest I have gone without sex and it is killing me.”
“I gave you an ultimatum.” I reminded him.
Alex shuddered as if reminded of that day. “I remember.”
I crossed my arms and glared at him. “Well?”
“Now?” he squeaked out.
I grit my teeth and I could feel the air of frustration coming out of my nostrils. “You know what? We are never having sex. Ever.” I stood up from the couch, storming off into my room.
I could hear him shuffling and following me. So as soon as I entered the room I slammed the door shut behind me – with force. And locked it.
“Shit!” I heard Alex curse as he winced in pain.
“Myra!” he knocked on the door trying to open it. “Did you lock it? Dammit.”
I didn’t reply.
“Myra!” he sang in a ridiculous tone. “Open up baby.”
I snorted. “Look at the situation I am hearing that in.”
There was a pause and I heard Alex sigh. “I love you.”
I twisted my lips at the closed door.
“I do.” He replied as if he could see my skeptical expression. “And I really want to do it. Do you know how difficult it is to control myself when you walk around wearing those stupid Panda shorts? Seriously, did you buy them when you were 10? Why are they so short?”
I looked at the shorts I was wearing, the same Panda shorts and they were really old but because I loved them I didn’t want to throw them away. I could never throw away my clothes.
“And every time you roll your eyes, I just want to kiss you. Every time you complain about how little Lays they give in the packet, I want to kiss you. Every time you laugh at the lame memes, I want to kiss you. Every time you breathe, I want to kiss you. I don’t ever want to stop kissing you.”
I could feel my throat closing up and a blush rising up my neck. I stared at the closed door. “Really?” I squeaked out in a low happy voice.
“Really.” Alex answered from the other side of the door. “And I am afraid if we do it once, I might never want to stop. You would haunt my mind every time. Every meeting I go to, I would imagine you. Every time I take a bath I would miss you. Every time I am alone on the bed, I would need you. I am not doing it for my own sake, for my own sanity. You don’t know the effect you have on me Hacker Girl, it’s-” he breathed out. “It’s extraordinary.”
I couldn’t stop the smile that danced on my face and just refused to stop. My cheeks were heated and I could feel the heat too. I didn’t know how to respond to that.
What do you say to that? What do you say to such sweet things that make your heart rate increase and take you into ecstasy?
I heard Alex knock again. “Now um. This is very awkward because I just poured my heart out and all I can see is this ‘Go away bitch’ sign on your door.”
I quickly sprinted off the bed to open the door. I unlocked and stared at Alex who stood there awkwardly, both hands in his jeans pocket.
I grinned like a madwoman at him and he blinked at me. “I can see all your teeth. Are you okay?”
My grin widened and my cheeks started to hurt from smiling so much. “I am great!” I said as I threw my arms around him and pulled him for a hug.
He stumbled and held onto my waist so that he wouldn’t fall and take me with him. After a few seconds of shock, his arms wrapped around my torso and he lightly kissed my head. “What was that for?”
I rubbed my nose on his gray tee, feeling the toned chest beneath it. “I missed you.”
Alex chuckled softly. “You shut the door.”
I leaned my head back, looking up at me. “I love you.” I whispered.
He looked into my eyes and in those blue eyes I could see myself, I could see the love, I could see the promises and the future for us. I could see my entire world.
He smiled back, a curve that lit up my heart. “I love you too.” He kissed my forehead.
I pressed my lips together and played with the end of his tee. “I have an idea.”
Alex’s hands rubbed over my back making the hair on the back of my neck stand. “What’s that?”
“Well.” I breathed out. “Let’s live together.”
Alex took a step back.
I could feel his eyes digging holes into me as I looked at the floor. Why were there dots of ketchup on the floor? Dammit, Evan!
“Do what now?”
I sneaked a glance at his shocked face. “Live together.” I repeated.
“Where?”
I scowled at him. “You own over three apartments. What do you mean where?”
“You-” Alex licked his lips and ran his fingers through his hair. “You want to live in one of those?”
“No, I want to live in Buckingham Palace but that isn’t happening, is it?” I snapped at him.
Alex looked at me with cautious eyes. “Is this what you want? Us living together?”
I raised my eyebrows. “If it wasn’t would I be suggesting it?”
“Don’t get sarcastic.”
“Don’t get stupid.”
Alex heaved out a sigh. “Fine, what about Zivah?”
I shrugged. “Our apartment contract is up in a month, we will have to look for new places anyways. And she and Seb seem to be doing well. Of course, I’ll talk to her about this first but only if the person I want to stay with says yes.”
Alex smiled and shook his head in a loss. “Yes.”
I blinked with shock at him. “Really?”
He nodded. “Yes.” He smiled softly. “I would love to live with you. Plus that way I can keep a watch on you. Where you go and when you go.”
I didn’t even get offended at that. I was too happy. I clapped my hands in utter glee. “Yes! I am so happy.”
Alex rolled his eyes at my joyous jumping figure. “You do all the things I should be doing.”
I winked at me. “Then maybe you should propose for marriage before I do.”
I froze at my words.
He froze at my words.
I coughed out an awkward laugh. “Not that I am going to. I am not even thinking about it.” I almost slapped my mouth for saying those words.
Baby steps Myra, baby steps.
He just said yes to living together, what are you doing scaring him off like that?
Marriage? Gosh, you are only 23, you still have to earn enough to be financially independent before thinking in that direction.
Alex hadn’t said a word and that terrified me even more.
What if he was overthinking? What if he thought I was ready for marriage? What if he was doubting his previous decision? What if he wanted to break up?
“Well, I didn’t mean that. You don’t have to propose. I am not asking for a proposal. I am not forcing you to propose. I am not forcing you to marriage. I am just saying.” I scratched my head. “Please don’t break up. I was just kidding. I swear I-”
“Myra.”
I blinked, stopping the rant. “Yes?”
“I want to get married.”
My jaw dropped. My lips moved but words didn’t form. I finally managed to whisper out. “What?”
“I want to get married.” Alex echoed his words.
“Now!?” I yelped out in a high volume.
Alex flinched. “Are you crazy? No.”
I sighed in relief patting my erratic heart. “Thank God.”
Alex raised his eyebrows. “I am insulted.”
I rolled my eyes as I walked past him into the living room. “You know it wasn’t in that sense. Let’s see where this goes first and then we can think of marriage and all of that jazz.”
Alex sat next to me on the couch. “Sounds like a plan. So when are you moving in? Tomorrow?”
I stared at Alex incredulously. “Are you crazy? It will take me at least 15 days.”
He nodded. “Fine by me.” he smiled. “We are growing up.”
I chucked at his eager face. “Yes, we are.”
“So who tells it to Evan?” I asked.
“You obviously.” Alex said.
I scoffed. “No way. Apparently, you two are best friends now.”
“Fine.” His one hand formed a fist. “Rock, paper, Scissors.”
I rolled my eyes. “Fine.”
He was paper. I was rock.
“Dammit.” I swore. “Two of three?”
“I just said we are growing up, apparently not.” Alex grunted, fisting his hand again.
He was rock. I was scissors.
I threw my head back. “Whatever. Fine, I’ll tell Evan.”
“I have never done this.” He pointed at me and then at himself. “Live together, eat together.”
I sent a flat smile. “Yes, but sleep together done that many times.”
Alex’s smile dropped. “That was the old version of me.”
I rolled my eyes. “If you cheat on me, I will cut off your dick and feed you your own balls.”
Instinctively Alex’s hand reached towards his crotch in protection. “Ouch.”
“Hey, you cheated on me.”
“Hypothetical. And I won’t do that.” He promised. “Why would I when everything I want is here?”
I almost aww-ed at his words. “Cute.”
Alex scowled. “Don’t call me cute.”
I patted his knee. “Cute.” I rested my head on his shoulder.
“You didn’t let me finish the damn episode Collins.”
“Don’t be a bitch about it, Bianchi.”
“I am starting it now, don’t disturb.”
I looked at him. “If you play it, I’ll kiss you.”
Alex raised an eyebrow. “Is that a dare?”
I winked. “It’s a promise.”
He played the paused series.
I kissed him square and fair on the lips.
And before I knew it his lips started playing havoc on my skin and created a disaster in my dirty mind.
Oh, all the things I’d do to him. And let him do to me. Yum.
