“Elena, now if you’re done with teasing me then will you please help me decide what to wear tonight? I’m already running short of time” I said over the video call.
“Okay Okay sure”
“Will this be okay?” I asked pointing towards the grey top and black high waist jeans.
“Blaire, don’t be silly! That’s a normal day wear and this is your first date you wouldn’t want to dress up like that and feel as if it’s a normal day, would you?”
“You’re right. I’m really confused, I have nothing to wear” I sighed and sat on the edge of my bed.
“I think you should wear an evening dress?” Elena suggested.
I opened the other section of my closet which was full of gowns and dresses.
“Oh My God! That’s a lovely gown! I think you should wear that. That will be perfect for the occasion” Elena said referring to the lovely baby pink cold shoulder gown. This was one of my favourite gown. I had bought it for my birthday but couldn’t wear it and since then it is lying in this closet.
“This is one of my favourite gown. I have never worn it before but today I will. Thanks Elena for helping me out”
“You’re welcome honey. Now go and dress up or else you’ll be late. Enjoy the date. Wish you luck, bye”
It was 8 pm and I was ready to see Zane who was waiting for my arrival, outside my house. He was dressed in a black coloured blazer and his hair were set with a gel. I won’t stay back from saying that he looked handsome.
“Gorgeous” he complimented.
“Thanks” I replied.
“The wait was worth it” he winked. He opened the door of his car and I sat in. My hair were tied in an elegant bun and a strand of hair was purposely left lose. I wore a silver necklace around my neck.
“So where are we going?” I asked.
“I won’t spoil the surprise but you are going to love it, I assure that”
Great.
He stopped the car near a garden. No one loved coming here because it was always covered with dirt and garbage unlike today. This garden looked completely different today. It looked beautiful. It was beautifully decorated. It’s entire look was changed. Trees were lighted with silver and golden LED lights which was looking extremely beautiful in the dark. There was a pianist playing a piano and next to him stood two boys dressed in suit playing violins. The music was soothing. A table for two was arranged where a bottle of wine and two glasses were placed upside down.
“This.. This is.. ” I was still in awe with the beauty of it.
“Beautiful. Right?” Zane finished the sentence for me and I nodded my agreement.
“This is really beautiful. I love it” I said still gazing at the beauty of the garden.
“You arranged everything, didn’t you?” I asked and he nodded.
“It’s beautiful. Thanks” No one had ever made me feel so special like this before. I thought we were going to some restaurant. Never had I thought that Zane would take so much efforts for me. He cleaned up the entire garden and also decorated it.
He pulled out a chair for me to sit and I thanked him. He then poured out the drink in the glass and offered me. We sat and talked for half an hour. He then stood up and came in my direction before gently extending his hand.
“May I?” he asked and I placed my hand in his and said “Sure.”
The music was soothing but dancing with him felt more heavenly. This date was perfect till now but still I was waiting for him to say those three magical words.
“Blaire I want to say something” finally, I thought.
“I’m listening” I said.
“I love you” he said. He finally confessed. Finally said those words that I wanted to hear but he doesn’t look happy while saying that. He had no expressions on his face.
“Zane, I love y…”
“Stop Blaire” he didn’t let me complete my sentence.
“You wouldn’t want to say it now. I wouldn’t want you to say it now because there’s something for you to know”
“What?”
“The Truth” he answered.
“Not now Zane. It isn’t important”
“Yes it is. It is very much important for you to know before you say that to me” by his face, it was clear that he wasn’t kidding. He looked very much serious.
“Okay, then tell me”
“Not here. I want you to come with me”
“But where? And why not here?” I asked but he kept silent. He removed a black coloured cloth from his pocket and blindfolded me.
“What are you doing?” I asked bewildered by his actions.
“Just trust me” he said and made me sit in his car.
“Zane for how long will you drive and for how long do I have to wear this cloth on my eyes? I’m not comfortable with it”
“Where are we going? Will you tell anything?”
“You will soon come to know” he replied.
“At least tell me how far is the destination?”
“Almost there”
He stopped the car after five minutes and helped me get out of the car. We walked a little before halting somewhere.
“You can remove that cloth from your eyes now”
“Finally” I said and took it off.
I was shocked, bewildered and scared at the same time by the view in front of me when I got rid of the blindfold. We were standing in a cemetery and in front of me was a grave with a name carved on it. And the name was – ZANE GIEZMANN.
I felt land slipping beneath my feet when I saw that. What the hell is this? Zane’s grave? How’s this even possible? I was puzzled but also scared. This means that…
“Yes Blaire. This means that I’m not one of you. I’m dead” the words left me stunned and petrified. I turned to look at him and was terrified when I saw that scary look on his face that once looked angelic. His blue eyes turned completely red in colour and all I could see on his face were his red eyes and two big fangs. My mind told me to run but my feet couldn’t move. I felt like I was glued to the ground.
“I’M A VAMPIRE.”
