“Pay your respects to the boss!” A man behind Ninja shouted at Leo.
Ninja raised his palm, signaling him to be quiet.
“I know you’re skilled,” Ninja’s face showed a strange smile, “Kid, tell me, who are you really?”
Leo was taken aback and thought to himself, “Could he have figured out my identity? No! That’s impossible!”
Leo looked up and calmly replied, “What do you mean by this? Do you suspect me?”
Seeing Leo’s calm expression, Ninja was unimpressed. “Sonpa’s distant cousin, a murderer who escaped from Atraria to the Kingdom of Siam. That’s quite an interesting identity.”
Leo stood up with a displeased look. “Since you can’t keep your word, then I’ll take my leave!”
After speaking, Leo walked towards the door.
A bodyguard immediately appeared in front of him, blocking his way.
“This place is not somewhere you can come and go as you please,” Ninja still had a smile on his face, as if he wasn’t angry at all.
“What do you want?” Leo was annoyed.
As soon as Leo finished speaking, a dark pistol was pointed at his head, held by the bodyguard who blocked his path.
“You have quite the temper!” Ninja took out a revolver from behind, “How about we play an exciting game?”
After saying that, Ninja flicked the cylinder of the revolver, ejecting the magazine, and looked at Leo with an inquiring gaze, waiting for his answer.
Looking at the gun in Ninja’s hand, Leo understood something. “Tell me, how do you want to play?”
Leo didn’t even consider the gun in the bodyguard’s hand.
If he wanted to leave here, no one could stop him.
But he couldn’t reveal his remarkable abilities in front of these people right now, as it would alert them.
“This game is actually quite simple.” Ninja took out three bullets and loaded them one by one into the chamber. “But it’s also thrilling!”
Ninja loaded the bullets into the revolver and flicked the cylinder, chambering a round.
“This revolver can hold six bullets. I loaded three.”
“Let’s make a bet. If I don’t fire the first shot, then you win. You can join Shalien Company, and we’ll be on the same side.”
“But if the first shot takes your life, then it’s unfortunate. That’s fate! Do you believe in destiny?”
Ninja seemed to find this very interesting and looked at Leo with amusement after finishing speaking.
“Is this interesting?” Leo looked at the revolver in Ninja’s hand with some disdain.
“To be honest, this kind of thing can be seen as either interesting or boring. Because I’m also gambling with myself!”
Ninja’s eyes sparkled like a hawk: “You’re someone I can’t figure out easily. Usually, when I can’t figure someone out, I consider them dangerous.”
Ninja raised the gun in his hand and aimed it at Leo’s head.
Unconsciously, Leo clenched his fist and released his Divine Awareness, targeting the gun in Ninja’s hand.
Before Leo could think too much, Ninja suddenly pulled the trigger.
But all they heard was a click. Leo’s heart skipped a beat; the gun didn’t fire.
“Hehe, you’re lucky,” Ninja’s eyes flashed with a hint of cunning.
Leo was shocked and knew something had changed. He quickly threw himself to the left side and fell to the ground.
“Bang!”
The sound of a gunshot rang out, and where Leo had been standing just moments ago, there was now a bullet hole.
“What do you mean by this!?” Leo got up from the ground angrily.
“To become my bodyguard in Shalien Company, luck and reaction are essential. Congratulations, you passed the test,” Ninja had a satisfied expression on his face. He walked up and patted Leo’s shoulder heavily.
“Take him to register and get him some suitable clothes.”
“Yes, boss!”
To Leo’s surprise, he learned what he wanted to know later that evening.
On Saturday morning, Shalien Company would be shipping a batch of goods from Bangkora Port, with Ninja personally leading the operation.
Although Leo had successfully infiltrated Shalien Company, Ninja still didn’t fully trust him and kept him in the underground fighting arena.
But Leo wouldn’t listen to him.
Saturday morning by the seaside.
The air carried a faint salty smell. The sky was cloudless, and seagulls soared freely in the sky as if welcoming the rising sun.
On a luxurious cargo ship named “The Niel.”
On the deck, three men stood silently, watching the rising sun in the distance while contemplating their own thoughts.
One of them was Ninja, and the other slightly overweight man was the one who had bet against Ninja in a boxing match that day.
The overweight man was called Kimson and served as a liaison between an organization in Atraria and Riceland.
The third man was a Caucasian with a taller and more muscular build than both Ninja and Kimson. His arms were strong, his chest protruded, and his eyes revealed a touch of arrogance.
As the sun rose higher, the port was bathed in golden light from the morning sun. The surrounding shimmering sea reflected this beautiful scene.
Ninja smiled and said, “Kimson, Mr. Sweeney, you two are leaving. I must admit I’m reluctant.”
“What you’re reluctant to part with is probably money,” Kimson said with a smirk.
Upon hearing Kimson’s words, Ninja became slightly displeased and pretended to be angry. “What nonsense is Kimson talking about? Loyalty comes first for me!”
“A long delay may cause trouble,” Sweeney said four words in perfect Mheffada dialect.
Ninja just smiled and changed the subject. “The cargo is ready. Since you both don’t wish to stay longer, I won’t force you. Have a safe journey.”
After speaking, Ninja prepared to disembark.
Kimson and Sweeney exchanged glances and shared a knowing smile.
Originally, The Niel was surrounded by other ships. But just as Ninja was about to disembark, he suddenly noticed that all the ships around The Niel were sailing away towards the distance.
For a moment, The Niel was left alone in a vast expanse of water.
“What’s going on!?” Sweeney couldn’t help but ask Kimson beside him.
Kimson looked at the strange scene around them. His face that had been slightly flushed gradually turned dark as he looked at Ninja who was preparing to disembark. “Boss, what exactly is happening?”
Even though Ninja was confused himself now, he maintained a calm expression on his face and reassured them. “No need to worry. It seems like a mistake made by the port administrator. There won’t be any accidents. Let me go down and check.”
Although Ninja said this, he had a bad feeling inside.
After waiting for about ten minutes, Kimson became angry because Ninja hadn’t returned after going down.
“Sweeney, something doesn’t seem right. This doesn’t look like a normal port transfer. They would have informed us if it were. It seems like something has gone wrong. What should we do?” Kimson started to worry.
