On the following morning, around ten in the morning, Sonpa called Leo and arranged to meet him at Paragon Plaza in the city center.
Paragon Plaza was the central business district of Bangkora, and also the most bustling area in the city.
When Leo arrived at Paragon Plaza by car, Sonpa was already waiting there.
He saw Leo getting out of a taxi and quickly waved to him.
After the two met, Sonpa seemed somewhat excited and thrilled.
Leo got straight to the point, “How is the matter I asked you to handle going?”
“This matter can’t be rushed, let me take you somewhere first. As long as you perform well, getting into the gang will be a piece of cake,” Sonpa replied mysteriously.
While he wasn’t in a hurry, Leo didn’t have the same patience and impatiently said, “Don’t play tricks on me.”
“I absolutely won’t. Please trust me!” Sonpa assured, patting his chest.
Sonpa led Leo into Paradise Shopping Mall and then into a jewelry store.
Inside, a dark-skinned young man was sitting on a swivel chair, leisurely watching the people coming and going, his eyes shining with shrewdness.
Seeing Sonpa bringing someone in, he stood up immediately, revealing a set of white teeth, “Sonpa, long time no see. How have you been doing lately?”
“Barely enough to fill my stomach, unlike you, guarding a treasure trove, eating and drinking worry-free all day long,” Sonpa replied with a smile.
“Shall we switch then, let you experience this comfortable life too?” The young man raised his eyebrows and his face brightened with a sly smile.
“No need for that, I don’t want to snatch your job, right?” Sonpa said, then looked at Leo, “Paten, I brought a new person today.”
“Him!?” Paten swept Leo with a contemptuous look.
Leo noticed Paten’s disdainful gaze and furrowed his brows, instantly losing any fondness for this cheerful guy.
Actually, it wasn’t Paten’s fault. People like Leo who were brought here, he had seen countless of them, almost all of them were strong and robust like oxen, and even the slightly thinner ones had muscles bulging on their arms, exuding a sense of strength.
The guy next to Sonpa looked gentle and weak, but without a doubt, he was someone who walked in standing and came out lying down.
Sonpa didn’t pay attention to Paten’s gaze at all and nodded, “It’s him!”
Even though Leo didn’t know what Sonpa was up to, he stayed silent and watched.
Paten took back his disdainful gaze and waved to Sonpa, “Take him inside.”
Sonpa nodded and turned to Mheffada, “Mr. Bloomer, let’s go.”
Saying that, he led Leo towards the inner room of the jewelry store.
It was a restroom inside, but there was no odor, very clean.
On the left wall hung a portrait of a mixed-race beauty in lingerie, her eyes wide open with curiosity.
Sonpa walked up to the portrait, extended his right hand towards the right breast of the woman in the painting.
A slight clicking sound was heard, and the painting on the wall slowly moved upwards, revealing a secret door.
Seeing the hidden door in front of him, Leo wondered if this was the headquarters of Shalien Company?
But Leo immediately dismissed this idea because as soon as he entered, a deafening noise swept over him like a flood.
Screams, shouts, sounds of impact, various noises mixed together, the rock music DJ was constantly stimulating eardrums.
In front, in the middle of the crowd, two muscular men bared their arms, fighting each other.
This was the biggest underground boxing circle in Bangkora, hidden beneath the most bustling commercial district.
Here was where boxers fought for survival, and at the same time, rich people indulged, vented, went crazy, and burned money.
The boxers fought in illegal matches here, while wealthy individuals bet on them, using the boxers as their gambling tools.
Amidst the frenzied noise, Sonpa squinted his eyes, like a gambler getting a good hand, his eyes occasionally gleamed with excitement.
He pushed through the crowd with Leo in tow.
The crowd formed a circle, with the fighting ring in the middle.
At that moment, there were two people on the ring, one standing and one lying down.
The standing guy had blonde hair and blue eyes, raising his hands and yelling vulgarities in English.
This guy was tall, with well-developed muscles on his chest and arms.
He had his upper body exposed, the sweat almost soaking his body, shining in the dim light.
The other guy, a slightly weak-looking Taplesh man, was already down on the ground, his nose bleeding, and a few people came to carry him away quickly.
Despite the standing guy’s hysterics, no one dared to step up.
This only infuriated him further, and he kept shouting, “Who dares to come up, let me smash your head! Who dares to come up! Come on! Hahaha!”
The onlookers started chanting, “Jack! Jack! Jack!”
On an attic not far from the ring, a man sat on a rocking chair, his face pale yellow, with a slightly sinister look in his eyes, laughing, “Kimson, how’s Jack? Haha! Sorry, you’ve lost another 1 million again!”
Next to him, a slightly overweight balding man looked gloomy, “Wasn’t Taplesh Boxing supposed to be powerful? Damn, seems not that great, I’m done, I’m done!”
Kim, the balding man, stood up from his chair preparing to leave as he said.
The thin man pressed his hand down on Kim, “Kimson, stay calm. Taplesh Boxing is indeed a very powerful martial art in the world, it’s just that those few guys who fought Jack aren’t good enough. If they encounter a true Taplesh Boxing expert, Jack will be no match.”
“Then, wasn’t I unfairly defeated!” Kim sounded a bit unhappy.
“Hehe, Kimson, I didn’t know beforehand who was strong. Your win was just a matter of luck,” the thin man explained with a smile.
“Want to play another round? Maybe your luck will change,” the thin man tempted.
Kim glanced at the arrogant Jack on the ring outside, made up his mind, and said firmly, “Alright, I’ll bet with you again this time! The stake this time will be 2 million!”
“Haha, Kimson, you’re indeed straightforward!” the thin man laughed heartily.
In the crowd outside the ring, Sonpa squeezed to Leo’s side and whispered, “Mr. Bloomer, go up and defeat him. Once you’re famous here, you can easily get into Shalien Company.”
Hearing Sonpa’s words, Leo finally understood what Paten meant by “newcomer” earlier.
So, Sonpa brought him here to participate in illegal boxing!
Leo looked at him with disdain and said displeasedly, “Is illegal boxing your solution?”
“Don’t you want to enter Shalien Company? As long as you become famous here, why wouldn’t you get in!?” Sonpa said shamelessly.
