Following the receptionist to the door of the chairman’s office, Logan felt a mix of emotions, after all, this used to be his office.
After the receptionist knocked on the door and received a response from inside, Leo and the others were guided in, and then she exited the room.
Behind the large boss’s desk in the office sat a man who looked somewhat sleazy and overweight.
This person was Logan’s business partner, Stanley.
Upon seeing the four individuals enter, Stanley glanced at Leo briefly before his gaze quickly settled on Sophia.
Sophia’s beauty and demeanor made Stanley subconsciously swallow his saliva.
“Stanley, you heartless scum, do you still remember me?” The moment Logan saw Stanley, the anger in his chest ignited.
“Logan! It’s you!” Stanley finally noticed Logan’s presence, and immediately shouted, “Security!”
Leo flicked his right hand towards Stanley.
Stanley’s eyes rolled back, and he collapsed to the ground with a thud.
This scene left Logan and Reuben stunned, as they couldn’t understand what had happened to Stanley.
“Leo, what… what happened to him?” After snapping out of his daze, Logan couldn’t help but inquire.
“In a while, you will know,” Leo replied.
Leo moved behind the boss’s desk, squatted beside Stanley’s head, and took out a silver needle, proceeding to insert it into several acupuncture points on Stanley’s head.
After about ten minutes, Leo withdrew the needle and lightly tapped Stanley’s forehead.
Stanley slowly opened his eyes.
Upon closer inspection, one could notice that the gleam in Stanley’s eyes at that moment was drastically different from before.
Stanley rose slowly from the ground, looking confused.
“Who are you?” Leo asked Stanley.
Stanley replied in a daze, “My name is Stanley.”
“From now on, you must obey one person completely,” Leo continued.
“Obey who?” Stanley inquired.
Leo pointed at Logan and said, “Obey him. His name is Logan, and from now on, he is your master.”
“Alright, from now on, I will obey him. He is my master,” Stanley looked at Logan, expressionless.
If Stanley’s fall earlier had left Logan puzzled, his current demeanor, along with his words, completely changed Logan’s perception of Stanley.
“Logan, from now on, Stanley will obey your every command. Even if you order him to die, he will not even frown. You can now try to command him,” Leo said to Logan.
Shocked and hopeful, Logan looked at Stanley and ordered, “Stanley, kneel before me!”
Without any hesitation, Stanley knelt in front of Logan, obedient like a dog.
“This…” Logan was once again shocked, “Leo, what did you do to Stanley, how could he…”
“What I did to him, you don’t need to know. Now, through controlling Stanley, you can gradually take back the company in your name,” Leo explained.
“Also, Reuben is reliable, you can entrust him with responsibilities. This is all I can do for you, the rest is up to you.”
“Leo, I… I really don’t know how to thank you,” Logan looked at Leo with excitement and gratitude.
Leo waved his hand, “We’ve been classmates for four years, brothers who lived in bunk beds, there’s no need to thank me. I hope you can achieve your aspirations.”
After that, Leo took Sophia’s hand, “Sophia, let’s go.”
Sophia nodded and followed Leo out.
In the following days, Leo and Sophia toured the various major attractions in Seattlemere.
First was the landmark of Seattlemere, Starpyre Spire.
Located in the heart of Seattlemere, Starpyre Spire was designed and built for the 1962 Seattlemere World Expo.
Standing at 605 feet tall, Starpyre Spire had an observation deck and a revolving restaurant at 520 feet above ground. Visitors could ride an elevator to the top at a speed of 16 kilometers per hour, where they could enjoy views of Mount Rainier during the day, witness the sunset over the bay in the evening, and revel in the city’s starry night under the cover of darkness.
The Sky City revolving restaurant on the top floor served a variety of dishes daily, allowing guests to enjoy both the scenery and the food. As long as you dined at the restaurant, the entrance fee to Starpyre Spire would be waived.
The restaurant had a minimum consumption requirement, $25 for lunch and $30 for dinner. Offered dishes included the “Sky City” burger and chicken Caesar salad.
Next was Washinghold University, the oldest university on the West Coast with a rich history.
Founded in 1861, Washinghold University had no walls or gates on its campus. A statue of George Washington holding a heavy sword stood at the equivalent of the main entrance.
The campus featured numerous Gothic-style buildings that harmonized with a modern art museum. The central square was paved with red bricks and adorned with totem poles symbolizing Native American traditional culture. Walking through felt like savoring a feast of architectural art.
The renowned Suseiro Library was a typical Gothic structure with many arches embedded with sculptures of figures and intricate floral patterns on the door frames and windows. The stained glass in the reading room on the second floor emitted a light blue glow under the setting sun, adding vibrant colors to this solemn and dignified building.
It was said that this was the original inspiration for Hogwarts Hall in the movie “Harry Potter.”
Then came Pacers Market, situated between Pacers Path and Forgefall Lane in Seattlemere.
Established in 1907, Pacers Market was the oldest agricultural market in Riceland’s history, attracting numerous artisans and street performers with its array of local fresh produce and seafood.
Here, one could enjoy the lively “fish tossing show” and stroll along the old streets while savoring a cup of coffee from the first Starbucks store.
The first Starbucks store, located at 1912 Pacers Market, was the worldwide pioneer Starbucks establishment, founded in 1971. It was a must-visit place for anyone who loved Starbucks coffee, offering a taste of the original Starbucks flavor.
Since Starbucks originally sold coffee beans, the store was designed like a warehouse and lacked seating. Nonetheless, many people still came here to stand and taste the coffee, trying to capture the initial taste of Starbucks coffee.
Lastly, the Chihuahua Glass Art Garden and the Seattlemere Pier District.
Located at 305 Harrison Street in Seattlemere, the Chihuahua Glass Art Garden displayed glass artworks, drawings, and architectural structures primarily by Dale Chinchilla.
Dale Chinchilla was a renowned glass artist from Riceland known worldwide for his unique style. The gallery in the garden showcased media displays of the artwork from various angles, leaving all visitors in awe of the glass art here.
