Kakumei’s face was as pale as paper, and his body trembled like a sieve, clearly having sustained serious injuries.
“Jōji, go and kill those three old men!” Kazuhiko commanded.
Jōji, standing far from Kazuhiko, bowed and said “Hi”, then extended his right hand, and a katana appeared in his grasp.
Holding the katana, Jōji walked expressionlessly towards where Kakumei and the others were.
Halfway there, Jōji’s expression suddenly changed dramatically, and he quickly positioned his katana in front of his chest to block.
A powerful force struck in front of him, and despite using the katana to block, the massive impact sent him flying backwards.
After landing, he rolled awkwardly several times before stabilizing his stance.
“Who are you?” Kazuhiko asked coldly in a slightly imperfect Mheffada dialect, looking at the two figures who had suddenly appeared.
Thomas couldn’t hold back any longer, cursing loudly, “We are your ancestors, here to take your dog’s life!”
Kazuhiko’s mustache trembled with rage as he roared, “Jōji, kill them!”
Jōji’s figure flashed as he rushed towards Leo and Thomas.
“Leo, leave this guy to me. I’ll make him regret coming to Deepmere City!” Thomas’s eyes blazed with fighting spirit.
Leo leaped back, “The people of Orientia are too cunning, be careful yourself.”
Thomas pushed both hands forward, and after a terrifyingly loud noise, the night sky seemed to tear open, unleashing a torrent of water with overwhelming force.
The target was the approaching Jōji.
Jōji paused, then stabbed his katana into the ground and rapidly cast dozens of seals into it with his hands moving faster than the eye could see.
The katana on the ground flashed with a silvery light, turning into a mercury curtain wall that faced the onrushing waves.
In an instant, the towering waves crashed against the huge mercury curtain wall.
A strange crashing sound rang out, and amid a gust of wind, mercury mixed with water droplets fell like beansized raindrops.
Mercury, being highly toxic, was hazardous to anyone it touched.
Leo quickly moved out of the range of the “mercury rain”.
Thomas remained unmoved, with a green light shield shaped like an umbrella appearing above his head, completely isolating the mercury rain.
As for Jōji, the mercury rain split into two above his head, avoiding him completely.
Looking back, the mercury curtain wall and the waves were still at a standoff.
The mercury curtain wall tried to envelop the waves, but the large and violent waves pushed and shoved with surprising force, dispersing the curtain wall as soon as it gathered.
Eventually, the mercury curtain wall and the waves merged and collided, followed by a fierce storm, and then both disappeared.
“Are you an Esper?” Jōji pulled up the katana from the ground and suddenly asked.
Thomas did not look pleased, “What does it matter whether I am or not?”
“Whether you are or not, tonight you will die by my sword.” Jōji smiled wickedly, and the katana in his hand suddenly disappeared.
Immediately, Jōji clasped his hands together, rapidly forming a spell gesture while chanting a spell.
Suddenly, a suffocating sensation arose.
In the sky above, points of silver light appeared as if stars had suddenly multiplied.
A sharp whistling sound followed, as each silver point turned out to be a katana.
Countless points of silver light in the sky formed a massive katana formation, pressing down towards Thomas on the ground.
If it were to hit solidly, it would undoubtedly shatter bones into dust!
“Bring it on!” Despite the imposing momentum of the aerial katana formation, Thomas’s face showed no fear.
Thomas roared and punched upwards into the sky.
A powerful, terrifying green aurora burst forth from Thomas’s right fist.
After a series of explosive noises, a substantial green super-sized fist emerged, sweeping with all its might against the descending katana formation.
This scene caused Kazuhiko, standing at a distance, to be slightly startled.
Initially, he thought his top disciple would easily win, but it seemed that victory was not going to come easily.
Looking up at the moon in the sky, there wasn’t much time left.
Kazuhiko wanted to step in himself to deal with the bearded man, but he was somewhat wary of the young man watching from the dark side because he could not ascertain his cultivation level.
Although Kazuhiko was somewhat arrogant, having lived to his age, he was more cautious by nature.
With a thunderous roar, the giant green fist clashed with the descending blade.
There was no substantial impact between the two, with about half a meter of space between them.
Within this gap, there were flashes of electricity. From the ground, it looked as if thousands of electric snakes were wandering in the night sky, a truly spectacular scene.
The standoff between the blade formation and the giant hand didn’t last long. Gradually, the giant hand began to slide downward.
Thomas maintained his posture of striking upwards with all his might, sweating profusely on his forehead.
A cold smile flashed across Jōji’s face as he took out a jade slip from his body and crushed it.
Countless blades in the night sky converged towards the center, eventually forming a huge sword that clashed squarely with the green giant hand.
Unlike the use of Talismans by Atraria geomancy masters, the geomancy masters of Orientia use something called “Fu Jian”, commonly known as jade slips, which are small rectangular jade plaques.
Atraria Talismans are drawn with a wolf-hair brush and cinnabar on talisman paper, while jade slips are imitations of Talismans used by Orientia geomancy masters, engraved with special instruments on jade plaques. In simple terms, they are imitations of Atraria Talismans.
Although it is an imitation, after thousands of years of research and improvement by Orientia geomancy masters, the effectiveness of these jade slips is not inferior to Talismans.
But I digress. The collision between the swords and the giant hand produced a tremendous explosion.
However, due to the existence of the barrier, the explosion was contained within the construction site and did not spread out.
Tonight, Kazuhiko didn’t want to attract the attention of Deepmere City authorities or even the higher-ups in Atraria, or it would be troublesome.
After the explosion, dust flew within the entire barrier, as if a sandstorm had appeared in the desert, making it impossible to see the situation of the two combatants inside the barrier.
