Leo hesitated for a moment but decided to control the fireball to continue forward, illuminating the way.
Since the compass needle didn’t fluctuate drastically, it indicated that the energy field was still stable.
Soon, a massive stone wall appeared in front of Leo, abruptly blocking the tomb passage.
Leo smiled and put away the compass.
For Leo, who possessed the art of teleportation, the stone wall blocking the way was completely ineffective. In the blink of an eye, Leo appeared on the other side of the wall.
Behind the wall, it was still pitch black, so Leo had to use another talisman to conjure a fireball and provide illumination for himself.
Restricting his Divine Awareness, Leo controlled the fireball to float ahead. He formed a hand seal with his right hand, and the fireball instantly transformed into a burly figure made of fire.
The fire figure took the lead and walked forward with large strides.
Leo maintained a certain distance from the fire figure and followed it. If there were any traps or mechanisms, they would most likely target the fire figure first, preventing him from being caught off guard.
Leo had mixed feelings about the fact that he had encountered no troubles along the way. It didn’t necessarily mean things were going well.
Soon, they reached the end of the tomb passage, and following the fire figure, Leo entered a burial chamber.
By the light of the fire, Leo could see many objects piled up in the corners of the chamber, clearly funerary items.
A scent of decaying wood entered Leo’s nose as he approached the corner and looked at the wooden objects that had already rotted into sawdust, as well as various burial items covered in dust.
These burial items were probably neatly arranged on wooden shelves at the beginning, but with the passage of time, everything faded and lost its original luster.
Leo had no interest in archaeology and had no intention of studying these burial items hidden in the dust.
Inside the chamber, there was a stone door leading to a storage chamber for the funerary items. What interested Leo more were the two stone lions placed on either side of the stone door, each taller than a person.
Stone lions were often used to ward off evil spirits in ancient times. Wealthy families would usually place two stone lions outside their main gates.
Even in modern times, stone lions could still be seen outside some prestigious mansions.
For observant people, they would notice that the two stone lions placed on the left and right sides of the gate were not the same.
The left side must have a male lion, majestic and powerful, with a ball under its large paw, representing authority.
The right side must have a female lion, with its paw stepping on a cub, symbolizing prosperity and the continuation of a family line.
What caught Leo’s interest were the eyes of the two stone lions, or rather, the lack thereof. The eye sockets were hollow, giving a somewhat eerie feeling.
Normally, this should never happen because it would not only negate the symbolic meaning of the stone lions but also invite negative energy, disrupting the entire tomb’s geomancy pattern.
When something abnormal occurs, there must be something unusual. Leo could only proceed cautiously and control the fire figure to move towards the stone door.
When the fire figure approached the stone door, a powerful energy fluctuation emanated from the two stone lions, and two green beams of light simultaneously shot out from their eyes.
The four green beams of light struck the fire figure like lasers, and before the fire figure could react, it extinguished instantly.
The burial chamber fell into darkness once again.
Leo silently celebrated in his heart that he hadn’t approached the stone door recklessly.
The first mechanism had appeared, slightly easing Leo’s tense nerves.
As long as there were mechanisms, it meant he was getting closer to the main burial chamber. Known dangers were not frightening. He could directly break through these two stone lions.
There were two things that piqued Leo’s curiosity. First, he wondered who the owner of this ancient tomb was. Second, he pondered the intentions of the geomancy master who had set up such an elaborate illusionary tomb.
The answers to everything might only be revealed by entering the main burial chamber.
Leo extended his right hand, and with a slight movement of his mind, the Divine Dragon Sword appeared in his hand.
Leo swung his right hand twice, causing two visible sword beams to appear within the dark tomb. Then, with two clinking sounds followed by two booming sounds, the two stone lions on the left and right sides of the stone door were cut diagonally and collapsed to the ground.
As the stone lions were destroyed, the sound of shattering echoed within the chamber, and web-like cracks appeared on the stone door.
The cracks spread and quickly turned the stone door into a pile of rubble.
After the stone door was destroyed, a dim and eerie color illuminated the burial chamber.
To Leo’s surprise, there was another door behind the stone door, and the dim and eerie color emanated from that door.
Leo cautiously approached, and as he got closer, he could see it more clearly.
The material of the door was not stone, nor was it metal like copper or iron.
When Leo tried to probe it with his Divine Awareness, he found that it couldn’t penetrate through!
Once his Divine Awareness touched the mysterious door, strange ripples of color would appear on its surface.
Leo retracted his Divine Awareness and instead used his Spiritual Power to press against it directly.
This time, the ripples on the surface of the mysterious door disappeared, gradually revealing a pattern.
The moment Leo saw this pattern, he was greatly shocked and exclaimed, “The Eight Formation Diagram!”
Before his voice even fell, a surging force instantly struck Leo.
Caught off guard, Leo felt as if he had been hit in the chest by a sledgehammer and was sent flying, landing five or six meters away.
If he hadn’t been vigilant and protected by his Spiritual Power, several of his ribs might have been broken.
Leo endured the pain in his chest and took some time to stand up from the ground.
After Leo was knocked away, the pattern of the Eight Formation Diagram on the mysterious door slowly faded and disappeared. The entire burial chamber returned to its deathly silence.
The Eight Formation Diagram was a formation that utilized a pile of rocks to form a stone array, divided into the eight gates of life, injury, rest, blockage, view, death, shock, and open, with ever-changing variations, capable of withstanding a hundred thousand elite soldiers.
Leo was familiar with the famous Eight Formation Diagram.
The “Eight Formation Diagram” incorporated the arrangement of the Eight Trigrams from Taoism, incorporating astronomy and geography. Its main purpose was for military formations, and it possessed immense power and incredible mystique.
In the formation, the left side represented the Azure Dragon, the right side represented the White Tiger, the front represented the Vermilion Bird, the back represented the Black Tortoise, and the commanding general occupied the central position.
The Eight Formation Diagram was further integrated into the overall formation, with a total of 64 formations, combined with 24 auxiliary formations.
Within the overall formation, there were 32 formations for yin and yang, with 24 yang formations and 24 yin formations.
The 24 auxiliary formations, after the 60 formations, encompassed all aspects of marching, formation, battle, deception, reinforcement, and logistics, all handled by the auxiliary troops.
