Leo released his hand from hers and said, “Let’s go, come with me.”
Leo took a few steps towards the door, but the woman didn’t follow.
“What’s wrong?” Leo turned his head and asked.
“I… I can’t walk, my legs are weak…” The woman’s face turned pale, filled with fear, and her body trembled uncontrollably.
The scene of Leo killing Bear and Morris just now, along with the horrifying corpses on the ground, frightened her. As an ordinary person, anyone who saw such a scene would likely have weak legs.
Leo turned around and walked up to the woman, saying, “Give me your hand.”
The woman hesitated, not fully trusting Leo.
Leo forcefully grabbed her hand, and then infused a trace of Spiritual Power into her body, dispelling her fear.
Feeling the strong grip of Leo’s hand and the warmth spreading through her body, the white-dressed woman’s fear quickly dissipated, and her strength gradually returned.
“Let’s go.” Leo held the woman’s hand and walked towards the door.
Just then, someone kicked open the door from the outside.
Over thirty men with machetes rushed in.
Seeing so many fierce-looking men charging in, the white-dressed woman’s face tightened, and she instinctively held Leo’s left hand tightly.
For Leo, these over thirty men with knives were like thirty ants.
Leo casually waved his right hand.
A powerful wave of energy struck the over thirty men with knives, and after a series of screams, the sound of knives falling to the ground and bodies crashing against walls and floors filled the air.
All over thirty men suffered internal injuries, and all they could do was lie on the ground, wailing in pain.
This scene once again refreshed the white-dressed woman’s understanding of Leo. Her beautiful eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Leo, her face filled with astonishment.
Leo no longer paid attention to the trash on the ground. He pulled the white-dressed woman and left the room.
When they were leaving the construction materials factory, they encountered many of Bear’s men again. Their fate was no different from those knife-wielding men in Bear’s room; it was miserable.
Leo stopped on the road outside the construction materials factory, then released his grip on the white-dressed woman’s hand.
It was already late at night, there were no pedestrians on the road, and hardly any vehicles could be seen.
The white-dressed woman looked up at the night sky, feeling a sense of relief, as if she had survived a disaster.
Originally, she thought that even if she didn’t die tonight, she would undoubtedly be at the mercy of those scum.
Her gaze fell on Leo, and the white-dressed woman expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you for saving me.”
“No need to thank me. My name is Leo. What’s your name?” Leo once again examined this woman, who, although dressed plainly, was quite charming.
“My name is Kelly.”
“How did you get involved with those people and get captured by them?” Leo asked.
Kelly’s gaze dimmed, and her face immediately became sorrowful.
Leo, seeing her expression, immediately consoled her, saying, “If you don’t want to say, then don’t. Where do you live? I’ll take you home.”
“It’s not that I don’t want to say…” Kelly bit her lip and proceeded to tell him about her unfortunate family life.
When Kelly was seven or eight years old, her parents divorced, and she lived with her mother. After graduating from college, she worked in Starsea City, barely getting by with her mother.
Three days ago, her alcoholic and gambling-addicted father came to her asking for money. To prevent her father from causing trouble and tormenting her mother at home, Kelly gave him ten thousand dollar.
After receiving the money, Kelly’s father went to the casino to gamble and lost everything. Drunk and broke, he was planning to go to Kelly’s house to borrow more money but was killed by a reckless dump truck on the way.
Kelly’s father died with a mountain of gambling debts, and the people from the casino targeted Kelly, using the excuse of a daughter paying off her father’s debt. They kidnapped her when she finished work.
After listening to Kelly’s story, Leo sighed deeply.
“Where do you live?”
“My mother owns a noodle shop on Celebrate Prosperity Street, and we live there together,” Kelly replied.
Leo took out his phone, opened the navigation, and searched for the location.
Celebrate Prosperity Street was quite far from their current location. Leo and Kelly were already on the outskirts of the city.
“Let’s go, I’ll take you home.”
Kelly nodded.
It was late at night, and coupled with the remote location, it was unlikely to find a taxi. If Kelly were to walk home alone, she wouldn’t dare to. With Leo by her side, she didn’t feel afraid at all.
“Have you ever seen the night view of the city from above?” Leo asked with a smile.
Kelly paused for a moment and shook her head, not quite understanding why Leo suddenly asked that.
Just then, Kelly noticed something seemed to be descending from the night sky ahead.
“Look, what’s that?” Kelly said.
Before Kelly could finish speaking, the Thunder Wing Beast appeared in front of her, startling her.
“Don’t be afraid, it’s my tame flying beast. It’s very well-behaved,” Leo reassured her, taking Kelly’s hand again and helping her onto the back of the Thunder Wing Beast. With a flap of its wings, the Thunder Wing Beast took off and soared into the night sky, accompanied by Kelly’s screams of surprise.
After a while, Kelly dared to open her eyes.
Sitting behind Leo, Kelly held onto his waist tightly, curiously and cautiously peering down below.
Starsea City was renowned for its never-ending beauty. From above, the entire city was immersed in a sea of neon lights, truly magnificent.
“Wow, Starsea at night is so beautiful!” Kelly couldn’t help but exclaim, “Am I dreaming?”
Kelly suddenly had a feeling that everything that had happened tonight was taking place in a dream.
After seven or eight minutes, the Thunder Wing Beast began to slow down and descend, landing in an empty corner of Celebrate Prosperity Street.
When Kelly got off the back of the Thunder Wing Beast, her excited mood finally calmed down a bit.
Walking forward for a while, Kelly pointed ahead and said, “That’s my family’s noodle house over there.”
Leo followed Kelly’s pointing direction and saw the noodle house named “Excellent Taste Noodle House,” which was still lit up.
Kelly’s mother must be waiting for her to come back.
Leo stopped and said, “Alright, I’ll take you here. Now, go home.”
Kelly stopped walking and looked at Leo with watery eyes, wanting to say something but not knowing what to say at the moment.
In the end, driven by the modesty of a young girl, Kelly sincerely thanked Leo and hesitantly walked towards her family’s noodle house.
After taking a few steps, Kelly suddenly heard Leo’s voice from behind, “Wait.”
Kelly quickly turned around, a hint of joy appearing on her pretty face. Her eyes, as clear as water, looked at Leo with anticipation.
Leo approached and took out a Purple Thunder Spirit Crocodile Armor from a spatial storage talisman, handing it to Kelly.
“What is this…?” Kelly asked.
“This is an armor I crafted. It can protect you and ensure your safety. It’s a gift for you,” Leo said, feeling sympathy for Kelly’s background and experiences.
