Chapter 1097 Reversal

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

The first number card selected belonged to Leo, with the betting numbers 2, 4, and 5. The next one was Finnegan’s red card, with the numbers 3, 2, and 6. Finally, Brice’s yellow card was chosen, with the numbers 9, 3, and 2.
The top three positions in the race were 9, 3, and 2, exactly as Brice had selected!
It was evident that Brice emerged victorious. Finnegan gave him a thumbs-up and praised, “Mr. Hampton, you have a good eye. I’ve lost all my bets, and now it’s up to you and Mr. Bloomer to perform.”
In this round, Brice recouped three million in chips, along with profits.
He glanced at the 12 million chips in front of Leo and goaded him, “In the second round, dare you bet three million?!”
“Why wouldn’t I dare?” Leo retorted.
The second round began ten minutes later, and nine different racehorses appeared on the screen. Leo and Brice once again scrutinized the screen to select their preferred horses.
Five minutes later, they placed their chosen number cards into the betting box.
In the second race, number 9 took the lead initially, but after two minutes, it was overtaken by number 3, followed by number 2 surpassing number 3.
This time, Leo had chosen numbers 2, 4, and 9.
Ten minutes later, the race results were announced: 3, 4, and 9.
The dealer retrieved the number cards, and unfortunately for Leo, Brice’s selection was spot on with 3, 4, and 9.
After announcing the results, the dealer transferred six million chips to Brice’s side.
Brice arrogantly glanced at Leo and took out a bank card, handing it to the dealer Nia, saying, “Miss, please exchange three million in chips for me.”
Seeing the remaining nine million chips in front of him, Leo knew exactly what this guy had in mind.
“Mr. Bloomer, do you dare to take a big risk? One round to determine the winner or loser, nine million!” Brice, who had won two rounds, appeared rather confident.
Leo waved his hand, downed the red wine in his glass, and a wicked smile appeared on his lips. He boldly declared, “Why wouldn’t I dare? Nine million it is!”
Saying that, he pushed all the chips in front of him onto the gambling table.
After the dealer Nia brought the chips, Brice also pushed his own chips forward.
In his heart, Brice sneered. Young people were just young people, unable to withstand stimulation. A novice gambler wanting to bet on horses with him was too naive!
As a wealthy man, Brice didn’t indulge in vices like eating, drinking, prostitution, or gambling. However, he had a particular interest in horses and had extensive knowledge and understanding of various types of horses.
Finnegan was well aware of this. They were not only business partners but also had a good relationship privately, which led to the suggestion of horse betting earlier.
Seeing Leo readily agreeing to Brice’s one-round bet, Finnegan sighed inwardly.
In his view, the outcome was already certain. Regardless of Leo’s previous lucky streak, he would ultimately be completely defeated by Brice.
Just as Brice had started selecting horses, Leo suddenly stood up and asked the dealer, “Excuse me, where is the restroom?”
The dealer opened the door to the private room and smiled, “Sir, please inform the staff when you go out, and they will guide you.”
Brice remained focused on selecting horses, while Coral turned her head and watched Leo leave the private room. Her eyes held a pensive look, and a playful expression appeared on her face.
After entering the restroom, Leo took out a Talisman from his pocket. He softly chanted an incantation, evoking Spiritual Power, and then applied it directly to his forehead.
In an instant, Leo disappeared from the restroom.
Using his teleportation ability, he arrived at the racecourse and discreetly tampered with three of the horses that were about to depart for the track.
Four minutes later, Leo returned to the VIP room.
“Mr. Bloomer, there’s one minute left. Please place your bet,” the beautiful dealer politely reminded.
Leo took his number card, selected the numbers, and placed it into the betting box.
After placing his bet, Leo turned his head and winked at Coral.
Coral naturally understood that Leo had done something while he was outside. She wore a smile on her face and calmly awaited the unfolding events.
Soon, the third round of the race began.
Leo’s top three selections were 3, 5, and 6, while Brice bet on 8, 5, and 4.
Both of them favored horse number 5, and when comparing horse numbers 6 and 8, even someone unfamiliar with horses could tell that 8 was definitely stronger than 6.
Not to mention other factors, the difference in physique was quite significant.
Horse number 8 was plump and well-built, while horse number 6 was slightly thin. Shortly after the first lap began, horse number 8 pulled ahead of horse number 6 by a considerable distance.
Horse number 5 took the lead, with horse number 3 following closely behind.
Brice found it strange that Leo seemed so content, even ordering a glass of red wine from the dealer, giving off an air of having the victory in his hands.
Playing mysterious, Brice secretly evaluated in his mind.
In the third round of the race, Brice was still full of confidence. Although horse number 5 was currently in first place, it would undoubtedly be overtaken by horse number 8 in the second lap.
In horse betting, luck played only a small part, and the outcome depended largely on the gambler’s judgment and understanding of horses.
Brice had already considered Leo a sure win in his mind.
Sure enough, in the second lap, horse number 8 had overtaken horse number 5.
The current rankings were horse number 8 in first place, horse number 5 in second place, horse number 4 in third place, and horse number 3 falling farther behind horse number 8, ranking eighth.
If nothing unexpected happened, the final rankings were likely to be 8, 5, and 4.
At that moment, Leo’s left hand under the table began to move, quietly forming a hand seal and pressing it slightly against the ground.
As the second lap neared its end, the situation changed once again. Horse number 5, in second place, overtook horse number 8 and claimed the first position. The seemingly slender horse number 3 started to exert its power and surpassed horse number 7, 2, 1, and 6, securing the fourth position.
This abnormal change made Brice’s eyelid twitch, and Finnegan stared at the TV screen without blinking, doubting if his eyes were playing tricks on him.
By the third lap, horse number 3 once again accelerated, overtaking horse number 4. Not only that, it seemed to go wild as if it had taken some kind of drug.
Saliva flew from its mouth as it rapidly approached horse number 5, as if in the eyes of horse number 3, horse number 5 was a “sturdy” mare.
Not only was horse number 3 behaving unusually, but horse number 6 also started to act differently, surpassing horse number 4 and 8 consecutively, entering the top three.
As the horses crossed the finish line, the results were announced: horse number 3 in first place, followed by horse number 5 and horse number 6.
Even after the dealer announced the results, Brice still stared at the screen dumbfounded, refusing to believe the final outcome.
