Chapter 1047 Headache

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

“Rubbish, can Mr. Fox’s doctor be as mediocre as those quacks?” Giovanny said with displeasure.
Actually, he said this to save face for Noel. He didn’t really trust Leo either.
He had lived for so many years and had only sought out traditional medicine for cupping and massage. He had never seen a traditional doctor himself.
“I won’t let him treat you. What if something goes wrong? How will I live the rest of my life?” Ally pouted, pretending to care.
“Mrs. Guzman, don’t worry. I guarantee with my life that Mr. Guzman will not have any accidents,” Leo and Aydin said confidently.
“You guarantee it with your life? Your life is worth how much?” Ally sneered coldly at Leo.
Leo’s face suddenly looked ugly, Giovanny’s wife was too harsh on him.
“What nonsense are you talking about? Go away!” Giovanny glared fiercely at Ally.
“Mrs. Guzman, if Mr. Bloomer guarantees it but you still feel unsure about it, then let me guarantee it too – in Langstel we will make sure that nothing happens to Mr. Guzman.” Noel spoke up confidently
Knowing Noel’s status made Ally shut her mouth and pout without saying anything else.
“Alright, it’s not a big problem. I’ll be fine,” Giovanny quickly pulled his arm out of Ally’s embrace and placed his hand in front of Leo. “Mr. Bloomer, I’ll trouble you then.”
Leo nodded and reached out to feel his pulse.
Although Ally was annoying, Giovanny seemed like a decent person.
After examining his pulse, Leo discovered that it wasn’t a severe condition. It was just a blockage in the meridians, which could be easily treated with acupuncture.
Leo took out a silver needle and prepared to administer the acupuncture to Giovanny when Ally once again intervened, saying, “Such a long needle, if it pierces the head, it could be fatal!”
“Don’t worry, Mrs. Guzman. There won’t be any problems. Didn’t I assure you of that?” Noel, who was growing annoyed with Ally, spoke up.
“You go inside. If I don’t call for you, don’t come out!” Giovanny shouted sternly at Ally.
Although he hadn’t had much exposure to traditional medicine, he had some understanding of acupuncture and wasn’t particularly afraid. He signaled for Leo to continue.
After a few needles, Giovanny’s headache noticeably diminished. After a moment, the pain completely disappeared.
“Mr. Bloomer, your medical skills are truly remarkable. I’ve been in pain for so many days, but with just a few needles, the pain is gone. It’s truly amazing!” Giovanny exclaimed excitedly.
“How about that, Mr. Guzman? I didn’t deceive you, did I?” Noel chimed in with a smile.
Leo’s simple acupuncture treatment held significant meaning for Langstel. If he could win Giovanny’s favor, Langstel would undoubtedly receive priority consideration for investments.
“Mr. Bloomer, my headache has been relieved now. Why don’t we go and play a few rounds together?” Giovanny warmly invited.
“Mr. Guzman, I’ll pass. I have some matters to attend to at my clinic,” Leo declined. He didn’t know how to play golf and wasn’t particularly interested in it.
“Mr. Bloomer, since Mr. Guzman has invited you, let’s go together,” Noel said, giving Leo a meaningful look while speaking.
“Alright then.” Leo nodded in agreement, wanting to help to the end.
The four of them then set off for the golf course inside the hotel.
Once on the course, Giovanny and Noel chatted while taking two swings.
“Mr. Bloomer, how about a swing?” Giovanny, seeing Leo just standing by, handed him a golf club.
“Mr. Guzman, I don’t know how to play. You can play with Mr. Fox,” Leo smiled and waved his hand.
Ally changed into a casual skirt and walked over. Seeing Leo’s awkwardness, she couldn’t help but mutter, “Such a country bumpkin.”
Although Leo had cured Giovanny’s headache, she didn’t appreciate it.
“When playing golf, your posture must be correct,” Giovanny said, adjusting his stance. He glanced into the distance, then bent down, swung his arms, and hit the ball cleanly.
Due to his intense swing, his necklace pendant jumped out.
When Leo saw the pendant around his neck, his expression changed slightly, and he couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Guzman, where did you get that pendant?”
Giovanny wore a unique pendant, deep red in color, with intricate patterns-a piece of blood jade.
The jade pendant was carved into the shape of Guanyin, with a kind expression, smiling lips, forming a stark contrast with the deep red nature of the blood jade itself.
Upon hearing Leo’s question, Giovanny realized that his pendant had slipped out and quickly stuffed it back into his clothes.
“It was a gift from a master,” Giovanny replied with a smile.
As he spoke, he instinctively patted his collar. To him, the jade Guanyin was a treasure, so he always kept it close to him.
Leo acknowledged with a nod and didn’t ask further.
After finishing golf, Noel invited Giovanny and Ally to attend the welcome banquet in the evening, and Leo was invited as well.
“Mr. Fox, I won’t go,” Leo said. At this point, besides his cultivation, he had no interest in other matters.
“Come along, Mr. Bloomer.” Giovanny seemed to have developed a good impression of Leo by now and sincerely invited him.
“Honey, he doesn’t want to go, so don’t force him. The people attending the banquet are all influential figures. If he, an insignificant person, goes, it would be so embarrassing,” Ally said sarcastically.
In Ally’s mind, Leo belonged to the lower class, so she believed he didn’t deserve to dine at the same table as her.
“Shut up!” Giovanny shouted angrily at Ally.
Although Giovanny had scolded Ally several times today, it was evident that he cared deeply for this charming woman.
While he yelled at her, he couldn’t bear to curse or even hit her.
“Mr. Bloomer, don’t pay attention to her. I just heard from Mr. Fox that you have considerable knowledge in antique calligraphy and painting. I’d like to learn a thing or two from you. Do me a favor and join us tonight,” Giovanny said.
Most wealthy businessmen enjoyed collecting antiques, and Giovanny was no exception.
In fact, many businessmen liked antiques, calligraphy, and paintings, including foreign artworks and famous paintings, not because they genuinely liked them, but to appear more elegant and refined, masking the strong scent of money.
Giovanny had quite a collection of calligraphy, paintings, and antiques at home, but he could only provide a rough description of them.
Upon learning of Leo’s expertise in this field, he wanted to learn from him so that he could show off at various social gatherings and symposiums.
“Mr. Guzman, you’ve found the right person. The medicinal patch that caused a stir in the Langstel antique circle was discovered by Mr. Bloomer,” Noel exclaimed with delight, continuing the conversation.
After leaving the golfing area, Noel discreetly pulled Leo aside and said, “Mr. Bloomer, it’s all up to you this time. If you can secure this investment for Langstel, you’ll be the number one hero for Langstel.”
