Hellfire struggled to stand up from the ground, glancing at Leo with a cold look before using what little inner strength he had left to flee the estate.
Jason couldn’t help but express his concern. “Leo, letting Hellfire go is like releasing a tiger back into the wild.”
The Iron Sword Sect never forgot a grudge. Once Hellfire reported back to their leader and six elders about what happened today, they will undoubtedly seek revenge.
Leo understood Jason’s worries and released Hellfire for strategic reasons – so that there would be no lingering threats after obtaining the Spirit Jade Vein.
“Uncle Pater, let’s head to the mine at Grand Mountain now,” Leo said to Jason.
Jason nodded firmly. “Alright, I’ll make arrangements for us to leave.”
Jason knew very well that from this moment on, the Pater family had completely offended the Iron Sword Sect.
To survive, they had to stand firmly with Leo and face the Iron Sword Sect head-on.
“Leo, Jason, I will go with you!” Winston declared his position.
Leo shook his head and said, “Jayden and his son have been captured. The Mclean family might resort to desperate measures. It’s better for you to stay and guard the family to prevent any unforeseen circumstances.”
“Alright, I’ll listen to you. You and Jason go to Grand Mountain. Be careful on your way,” Winston nodded and said.
Ten minutes later, a rugged Hummer appeared in front of Leo and Jason. The two got into the car and set off for Grand Mountain.
After more than three hours, a range of towering mountains appeared in Leo’s sight.
The mountain range stretched for hundreds of miles, with towering peaks winding forward like a giant dragon.
The forest between the mountains was filled with tall and lush trees.
“Leo, this is the Grand Mountain Range. The vein is located in a place called Wolong Pool, right at the foot of the main peak of Grand Mountain,” Jason pointed to the mountain range in front of them and said.
Leo nodded, “Uncle Pater, let’s go straight to Wolong Pool.”
The rugged and treacherous mountain road was nothing for the mighty Hummer, resembling a wild beast.
Half an hour later, the Hummer arrived at a peak.
The peak stood tall, reaching into the clouds.
In the middle of the peak, there was a huge crack, as if an ancient god had split it with a giant axe, creating a passage.
The passage was about ten meters wide, enough for two carriages to pass side by side. Gazing through the passage, one could vaguely see a fragrant and vibrant environment, filled with spiritual energy.
“Leo, once you cross the crack, you will reach Wolong Pool. The Spirit Jade Vein is there. By now, the Iron Sword Sect should have sent people to mine it,” Jason said, pointing to the crack in the mountain peak after getting off the Hummer.
Leo nodded slightly. He could already sense the spiritual energy spreading from the crack.
It wasn’t difficult to understand why such a spiritually abundant place could give birth to the Spirit Jade Vein.
To infiltrate secretly, the Hummer couldn’t directly enter the passage. Jason instructed the driver to wait in place.
The two approached the crack on foot and saw five people not far ahead, who appeared to be guards from the Iron Sword Sect.
The leader was an old man wearing a white robe. His hair, eyebrows, beard, and even his complexion were all white.
The old man’s face was thin, as if it had been forcefully split by an axe. The whole face exuded a chilling aura that made people reluctant to approach.
The old man sat cross-legged on a stone, his eyes closed, and his long eyebrows gently swaying with the breeze.
Upon closer inspection, one would notice that a thin layer of frost had formed on the surface of the stone under the old man.
The other four were elite disciples of the Iron Sword Sect, carrying iron swords. They stood on either side of the entrance to the passage. From their aura alone, it was evident that all four had reached the mid-level Warrior General Realm.
When Jason saw the old man in the white robe, his body suddenly stiffened. His face turned grim, and a trace of fear appeared deep in his eyes.
Jason pointed at the white-robed old man with his finger and whispered, “Leo, the person sitting on the stone is Cold River, the second elder of the Iron Sword Sect. He’s at the mid-level Warrior Sect Realm. I was injured by him.”
Leo followed Jason’s finger and nodded.
“Leo, the second elder of the Iron Sword Sect and elite disciples are guarding here. What should we do next?” Jason asked.
Leo smiled faintly, “Let’s deal with this old guy who injured you first and vent your anger.”
After saying that, Leo took the lead and rushed towards the entrance of the cracked passage.
“Who dares to trespass here?!” Cold River suddenly opened his slightly closed eyes and shouted coldly.
The elite disciples on both sides of the entrance quickly drew their iron swords from their backs, pointing them at Leo and Jason.
“It’s you again!” Cold River’s gaze narrowed as he recognized Jason.
Facing Cold River’s icy gaze, Jason replied, “Indeed, it’s me!”
“You insignificant fool! Last time, I spared your life, and yet you dare to come seeking death on your own accord!” Cold River stood up from the stone.
Anger burned in Jason’s chest as he retorted, “Old man, today we’re here to take back the vein!”
“Just the two of you?” Cold River initially showed disdain but then revealed a hint of surprise in his eyes. “I didn’t expect that after being affected by my Yin Cold Inner Power, not only did you not die, but your cultivation also broke through to the mid-level Warrior Sect Realm.”
“However, you’ve just stepped into the mid-level Warrior Sect. If I want you dead, it’s still as easy as flipping my hand.”
“You old fool, I know I’m no match for you.” Jason took a step back, highlighting Leo.
Only then did Cold River focus his attention on Leo.
From Leo, Cold River couldn’t sense any fluctuations of internal energy.
“Tsk tsk, Jason, as the head of the Pater family, you actually invited a powerless kid as reinforcement. Are you trying to make me laugh?” Cold River sneered, his thin face full of mockery.
Leo disdainfully said, “Old man, you’re in for a big disaster today after encountering me.”
These words caused the sneer on Cold River’s face to disappear, replaced by a chilling gaze.
Although he looked down on Leo from the bottom of his heart, being insulted by someone was still unpleasant.
“Insolence! Dare to disrespect the second elder! Kill him!” The leader of the elite disciples shouted angrily, leading the other three elite disciples to attack Leo.
The closest elite disciple thrust his iron sword directly towards Leo’s abdomen. Leo waved his right hand, a mysterious force deflecting the iron sword, and then kicked it away.
The elite disciple was sent flying by Leo’s kick, spewing blood from his mouth and fainting upon landing.
Leo didn’t stop, his figure swayed, delivering a series of three kicks.
After three screams, the other three elite disciples also crashed to the ground, spitting blood and losing consciousness like the first elite disciple.
“Not bad for an outsider’s martial arts. I underestimated you earlier.” Leo easily dealt with the four elite disciples, surprising Cold River. “However, you dared to hurt my disciples from the Iron Sword Sect. Today, you won’t leave here alive!”
