He seems to hesitated for a moment but eventually he agreed and got out of the room to get me medicines and warm water. I was still on the bed lying lifelessly with my body as hot as lava. It was quite weird that I would recover any injury and wound but my fever wasn”t leaving me alone. I tossed and turned in the bed with my rapid breathe and dry throat.
In a while uncle Frank entered the room with a tray having a glass of water and medicine in it. He helped me seat up straight and shoved it at my back. When I was done sitting he handed me the war water and medicine in my hand. I drank the water and also gulped down my medicine with it. When I was done with it Uncle Frank helped me settling down the bed again.
After that he left the room with concerned eyes. It was sure hard to keep my eyes open for sure but it doesn”t mean I was asleep or something like that. I tossed and turned whole night only to found myself awake until midnight. But the worst part was that Mr. Gold never returned back as I was there.
I tried not to think about him but my ears were so anxious to hear his Mercedes pulling up in the parking lot downstairs. I don”t know if I never sat this late or I just didn”t realize but from the room I was in, I could clearly hear the movements outside the gate downstairs. It was as if I was waiting for Mr. Gold, phew… but then the medicine I took finally begin to show effects and I begin to drift into deep sleep.
The next day as I woke up, I wasn”t still good not even a bit. My whole body ached like hell as I tried to get off from the bed. However I dragged my body to the washroom somehow. As I finish my morning routine and come back in the room, Uncle Frank was there with some warm water in his hand. He smiled at e as soon as he saw e “How are you today Ms. Wilson?”
But my head was ringing with some question instead so I asked him instead of answering him “Is Mr. Gold home yet?”as I blurted out he stared at me speechless. But I could no longer of what he thought. I need to know about him first thing. After a moment of silence he shook his head “No he didn”t came back from yesterday. I guess he is busy with something” he said. I nodded at him. I don”t know why I had this urge but I wanted to see him.
“Are you hungry? Do you want to have something?”he asked me gently ” you haven”t eaten anything from yesterday. Tell me what do you want to have and I”ll prepare it for you” he suggested me in a loving tone as if he was talking to his own child. But I wasn”t a bit hungry for the moment.
I shook my head to him “I”m not hungry in any way, please don”t worry about me. get me the medicine you gave me yesterday andi”ll be fine uncle”
“But you haven”t eaten anything, how is the medicine going to take effect if you are going to keep your stomach empty?” he asked me. I shook my head “I”m not hungry uncle, please get e medicine” I lied back in the bed to get some rest from this brain wreaking pain. As I sleep, uncle Frank was defeated and he went out of the room after he take a long sigh.
He came back in some minutes and this time he had a bowl of soup in his tray and that tray literally had the strongest aroma that I felt nausea. It was nothing like fowl smell but t was just too much smell. He put it down beside me and started lecturing me “I don”t know If you think I”m being rude or something else but you haven”t eaten anything for so long. Even medicine isn”t taking effect on you. I”m not going to say it again, but you have to drink the soup”
He helped me up and gave the bowl of soup in my hand. I don”t have strength to argue some more with him. I took a sigh and drank the soup. After the soup I have my medicine and drifted back to sleep hoping I would get better once I was awake.
The next time when I woke up, it was still day and the sun was still up in the sky. My fever hasn”t reduced not even a bit but my body pain was gone. So I thought of getting out of the room to have some fresh air at least. As I reach the living room, only uncle Frank was there in the living room.”Is Mr. gold home?” I asked him, it was weird that his not coming home was bothering me when I was trying to stay away from him.
“No, he hasn”t” Uncle replied me but I felt unhappy with his answer. Not only unhappy, I kind of felt stressed of why he didn”t come back home? Something inside me wanted to go check for him. I tried to comfort myself with some excuses like he is busy with his work, he might got something emergency but my heart wasn”t ready to hear anything at all. It was shouting to go and check on him. I tried to shook my thoughts away but at the end, I went back to the room to take my coat and walked out to look for Mr. Gold.
“Where are you going Ms. Wilson, you are not fine to go out” Uncle Frank shouted from behind but I don”t listen to him. I went outside but I don”t have a car nor I know how to drive one. Plus I have to walk a long way to caught on public transportation and I was weak due to the stupid fever.
I don”t know if Uncle Frank was worried or what but he came out of the villa with a car. He stopped just beside me and honked twice before rolling down the window “Came and sit in the car, I”ll take you wherever you want” he said from the car.
“I can go…”I was about to deny when he cut me off “I”m not listening to you at all. Either you come back to villa and have some rest or let me drive you wherever you want to go”I don”t want to argue with him and I really need a ride at this time so I nodded and hopped inside his car. He slightly turned back to ask me “Where are we going by the way?””To the Golden company”
He nodded and started the engine and the car smoothly ran into the highway in a while. In some minutes, I was in the Golden Company.”You go inside first and do your work, I”ll wait for you in the car” uncle frank said so and I climb down the car and entered the office.
I felt like years as I went to the car to the elevator and even from elevators to the last end to Mr. Gold”s room. Gosh, why did he have to keep his office at the end of the floor? I was irritated as I walked towards his office.
Thankfully I don”t saw Bella or any other big shots before reaching the door.
I knocked in the door twice “May I came in sir?” I requested from outside and there was no response from inside not at all. I slightly opened the door and peeked inside but there was no one inside. Only empty chairs and tables were there. I shook my head at my stupidity and went inside. I sat on the where I used to work before as I looked around. It wasn”t lunch time where could this people go?
I got up and was about to go out when someone barged in into the office.”Good noon mam” he bowed to me and I nodded at him. I have seen him working in this floor before. I better ask with him “Where are Mr. Gold and Liam?” I asked him. he instantly replied me ” Oh, he is in the meeting room. Actually I came here for taking some documents for the meeting. I will go first” he said so as he grabbed some of the documents and rushed out of the office.
Meeting? What should I do ? should I wait for him or go back home? a lot of questions made my head a mess yet still I was thinking. however I decided to stay here and wait for them. I wasn”t going to have a peace of mind even though I go home by now so I better wait for him. I thought so and look atthe time and there was still a hour and half left to finish the meeting. So I shrink into the sofa and waited for them.
