“Uhh… I don’t know… Tell me your time. I’ll try to manage.. ” I thought for a while and told him. I’ve to ask Mr. Gold for it.
“I’m taking a leave tomorrow. And I’m taking her to date on seven at night. So I need to be ready and all… I need you for about an hour. So, how about you came after the lunch break. If it is convenient for you” he calculated his time.
“Well, I’ll try to do that. I’ll ask for half day tomorrow. If he won’t agree, I’ll also take a leave. Don’t worry ” I said to him.
“Aww thank you so much Riley. You are so kind hearted” was he sucking me up? Well, he must be so happy after such a time he was finally going to purpose Anyee.
I was so excited that I wanted to Anyee right now and tell her about the news but I can’t just spoil their moment right?
“Of course I’ll do since I had already promised you”
“Riley, I’m so excited for tomorrow. I can’t wait for the morning to come” he said through the phone and his voice alone was so his words were no necessary to tell how excited he was for the day. I also felt happy for them.
“Well, all the best. I know she is going to accept you as her boyfriend so congratulations in advance. “I wished him “And don’t forget to call me to give the update. Or maybe Anyee will call me. Whoever calls me, it’s the same since you two will be a couple ”
“Of course, I’ll call you once the date is over” he said.
“Arhh, no need to rush, you can tell me the day afterwards. Have a quality time with her”
“Goodnight Riley, call me tomorrow and I’ll came to pick you up”
“Hmm… OK. Goodnight ”
I hung up the call but I was smiling like an idiotat mu phone screen. I was really happy for the two of them. Finally the long awaited day had came in Anyee’s life.
I put the phone aside and then j realised I wasn’t in the room where I was sleeping. This was nothing a study room where I was reading my book. I looked around and saw there was Mr. Gold sleeping on the sofa not far away.
I was relieved to see him here. It should be some other guest room since it was not the same we were sleeping the other night. Yuko might be in one of them.
I drink a glass of water from the side table. And then went back to sleep. It was safe to sleep like that when Mr. Gold was around. He made me feel home.
The very next day, Mr. Gold was still asleep when I woke up. Since I need to take leave today, I decided to make him happy. I know that to make a man happy the first thing to do was make his tummy happy. I went to the kitchen to make breakfast for him. Even though I was his cook in the contract, I haven’t cooked for him for a few days.
“Good morning child. Do you need anything? Why are you up so early? ” Uncle Frank was in the kitchen already when I reach there.
“No uncle, I was thinking of cooking something ” I shook my head as o enter the kitchen.
“Why would you work? I’m here for that cooking thing, so please tell me whatever you feel like eating and I’ll make that for you in a while ” he said sweetly.
“No uncle, it’s not like that. I want to make today’s breakfast. You please sit aside, I’ll prepare it” I pushed him at a side.
“But…”
“No but” I dragged him aside and made him sat on a chair “you just sit here and guide me through the cooking. I don’t even know where are the things or pots”
“OK, ask me for help if you need” he said.
I nooded and started to move around the kitchen. He was smiling at me all the time ” I never thought you’ll know how to cook ” he complimented.
“Oh uncle, why won’t I? I’ve been doing this since my childhood ” I smiled at him and he nodded.
In a while a variety of breakfast was ready. Uncle Frank helped me to set them up on the table.
After that he went upwards to wake them up while I was waiting for their arrival. In a while Liam and Mr. Gold came down the stairs.
“Good morning Mr. Gold, good morning secretary Liam” I bowed to them.
“Good morning Riley, you came earlier than us?” Liam asked me.
“Just a while ago” I smiled at him. Then I looked at Mr. Gold for his reaction but he was expressionless. He sat on his sit. I went ahead and serve him breakfast.
“Why are there so many items? ” he looked at me “Did you wake up so early to make all these? ” he asked me.
“I.. I…” I tried to speak but no words want to came out of my lips.
“Yes, Mr. Gold she made all the dishes today. She don’t even let me help her” Uncle Frank spoke as he come downstairs along with Yuko.
“You don’t have to do all that” Mr. Gold said.
“Isn’t it only fair that your personal assistant take care of your each and every need? ” Yuko spoke up as she again sit next to Mr. Gold.
“Good morning Willis” she came up to Mr. Gold and hugged him from behind. 8 felt the knot in my heart tighten up a little but however I tried hard to not to show this on my face.
“Good morning Liam ” she said as glance at me.
“Good morning young miss” I also nodded at her but she ignored me. Puff.. What an arrogant woman… I really wish if I could just ignore her.
“Riley, you sit down with them and I’ll serve them” Uncle Frank said to me.
“It’s okay uncle, I’ll be eating in a while ” I walked towards the kitchen after sayinh so. But before I could reach the door, a cold voice stopped me.
“Stop” he said. I slowly turned my head to him and he was looking at me straight.
“Come here ” he called out for me.
I took a sigh before I walked up to him. As I walked a bit near, he pointed at a chair “Sit there and have breakfast ” he ordered.
I look to the seat he pointed that was far from him, I really don’t want to sit there “I’ll be eating in a while…” I tried to deny him.
“You’ll be late for your office ” he interrupted me.
I nodded and sat next to Liam. I peeked at him once and saw a few underlines on his forehead which made me feel a lot better.
He was chatting with Yuko all the time they had breakfast. After taking a fee bites Yuko turned to me “Hey you” she handed something to me “You really cook well. This is your prize” she said.
I felt uncomfortable at that. Was she going to give me tips here ?
“I don’t need that. It was a part of my job” I said.
“No one ever refuses Yuko. ” she pouted “If you do so, I’ll ask my brother to fire you now” she said.
I didn’t look at her since I don’t want to accept that thing from her hand.
“Willis are you going to keep her still. Look she isn’t taking it” she said as if she was a victim “You have to fire her since she is insulting your sister ” she pouted.
I looked up in shock. What did she said? Sister? I gasped at the huge discovery. I wasn’t able to believe it… I looked at Liam… And saw him smiling at me. I took her prize from her hand.
I look at it and looked at it. It was a cute hand bracelet that she was wearing. I looked at her and thanked her.
She seemed happy since I accepted her gift. After that she started to eat again but I was confused all over now. Was she his sister?
After the breakfast everyone went back to their room to get ready for the office. Phew… I didn’t even get a chance to talk to Mr. Gold about the leave that I want… It was the reason I made breakfast.
When I get ready and went outside, Mr. Gold had gone with Yuko to drove her off to airport. Only I and Liam were in the car to office.
“Who is Yu… I mean young miss??? ” I asked him.
“She’s Mr. Gold’s cousin. But since he don’t have a sister. He treat her as sister. They grow up together. So they are quite close ” Liam said.
