“Let’s go now ” Liam said and I nodded in response. He been to walk out and I followed behind him step by step.
When we walked a few steps away from the meeting room, I spotted Mr. Gold right there a few steps away from us. I was about to smile but then I realized he wasn’t alone. He was talking to someone. The girl was a beautiful young lady probably of my age. She was wearing a white sleeveless shirt and brown skirt with that. Her tender legs were coming out of the skirt and she looked so beautiful as she smiled.
They were standing so close to each other that I started to feel uncomfortable inside. The girl hold Me Gold’s arm and dragged him to the elevator. I felt my ears being hotter as if there was was fire or something in my chest.
“What happened, let’s go.” Liam said and I tried to be act normal. They were at the elevator waiting for us and I felt more and more uncomfortable as I walked towards them. Especially because the girl was looking at us while holding Mr. Golds hand. I was constantly consoling myself to be calm and not to act impulsive.
“Hii Liam, how are you? ” The girl said happily as we reach in front of them.
“I’m fine young miss.. What are you doing here? ” he said and then the girl’s face fall a bit. She frowned and looked at Liam. Liam’s face color started to fade away and he quickly remended his words “I mean if you had told me, I would have came to pick you up” Liam scratched his head.
Young miss? Who was she and why was he calling her young miss? She must be someone with big and novel background. I thought to myself and somehow my stomach fall to Ita pit.
“Who is she? ” the girl pointed at me.
“She’s my personal assistant. Her name is Riley Wilson ” Mr. Gold said.
I looked at her and she was scanning me top to bottom.. Maybe she was trying to know me better. I nodded at her and reached out my hand to her “Hi.. My name is Riley, Riley Wils….”
“Cut it off” she shook her hands in front of me “I’m not interested in you at all. I’m just wondering how come this man who always stays ten foot away from girl want to hire you. And he have Liam by him all the time. ” she said to me.. I tried to smile but I couldn’t. I know i was no use for Mr. Gold but I can’t do anything on it. It was his idea to make me under him for one month, I don’t even know what was his profit on this.
“You are not even beautiful.” the girl said as she leaned to Mr Gold “Willis why don’t you tell her that I’m more beautiful than her”
Mr. Gold looked at her with the same gentle eye which he used to have when no one was around. I felt something in my heart started to pain. Jeez I don’t remember having a heart problem before. I lowered my head and stand behind them as the elevator moved up slowly.
He pricked the girls head softly and scolded her in a bit spoiling voice “How many times did I asked you to not to call me by first name? ”
The girl hold her head and rubbed it for a while as she looked at Mr. Gold with a puppy eyes. She then hugged him saying “I will call you whatever I want. And you can’t say anything to me for that. ”
“You are so stubborn. You’ll always do what you want Huh? ” Mr. Gold said in a doting tone.
To be honest, I wasn’t liking this at all. I felt as if I had something stucked in my throat.
When the elevator door opened, the girl walked with Mr. Gold hand in hand.
“Are you jealous? ” Liam asked me as he squinted his eyes at me.
“What no… Why would I? ” I said to him. Hey come-on we have nothing like that in between us, how can I be jealous? Can I….???
“Then why are you clutching your hand so hard? ” he asked me.
“Huh? ” I asked him back confused with his words.
“Your hand” Liam said. I looked at my hand and I saw blood coming out of my hand. I gasped looking at my own hand. I really didn’t realize that, I was digging nail in my own flesh and more to it, I didn’t feel pain at all. ”
“Here you go” he handed me a hanky and he walked towards the office. I looked at the hanky and my hand, I smiled at my own stupidity before wrapped the hanky around my hand.
I looked ahead of me and they were all gone. I thought it will be a bit akward to go to the office like this. So I went to the kitchen and made four cups of coffee and walked into the office with it.
When i reached in, Liam and Mr. Gold were discussing over something while the girl whom Liam addressed as young miss was on the couch. I felt annoyed at the sight of her.
I took the tray of coffee to the table and put one one glass in front of Liam and Mr Gold. Liam said thank you to me while Mr. Gold onlu nodded at me.
I went to the tea table and put the tray on the table before I pick a cup and handed it to the girl.
“Coffee, young miss” I copied Liam’s words.
“Huh, how dare you to say young miss? I don’t even know you properly. And who asked for coffee? ” she shouted at me and I felt embarrassed. I put down the coffee and bowed to her “Sorry, miss….”
“Keep your sorry to yourself. I’m hungry already, go and get me some snacks” she said in a bossy tone.
I felt bad as she was continuously insulting me. It was OK to order me to do things but there was a difference and she wasn’t even my boss. I was tolerating her because Mr. Gold treated her really dotingly, so she must be someone special to him. Arhh, thinking of that can made my heart sour already.
“Don’t you hear me? I want some some snacks. Are you deaf or something? ” she said as she waved her hands up and down in front of me.
“Umm… Yeah sure. I’ll go get you something to eat” I nodded to her and walked out. As I reached the door Mr Gold called out for me “Riley come here. ” he said.
I stopped and turned to look at him and then to the girl. It was akward, the girl seems to not like it. She looked at Mr Gold and said “I asked her to bring me some food. Can’t she do your work after a while? ” she asked.
That was the same question I needed to ask so I didn’t asked and just waited for the answer to come. Mr. Gold looked at me and said “Liam will go and get food , you came here”
“Me? ” Liam pointed at his nose and asked.
“Is there another Liam here? ” Mr. Gold asked him. She vividly shook his head “I’ll be right back ” he said as he got up..
“But Willis I want her to go and get me food not Liam ” the girl still said.
Mr. Gold looked at the girl and console her “Liam know what you likes or what you don’t. Keep your calm. Your food will be in front of you in a while ” Mr Gold then turned to me “Don’t you hear? I asked you to come here”
I nodded at him and went up to him. Liam went out of the oddice and the young miss was silent. I went to the front chair of Mr Gold and sat there.
He got up from his chair and come sit beside me. He than grabbed my hand where I had wrapped the hanky and untie it. “Whose is this? ” he asked me. .
“Liam” I replied him.
He got up from his seat and went to open one of his drawer. He took out a first aid kit from it and came to my side.
“It’s OK. It’s nothing ” I tried to said to him but I stopped talking when I saw his frowning face.
He take my hand and keep it in the table and took our some cotton and disinfect from the box. He hold my hand and applied the disinfectant in my hand. My hand felt like burning.
