I looked up to Mr Gold. I wanted to say no, i don’t wanted to go anywhere. I wasn’t ready to face things. I felt a kind of knot in my heart that made me so uneasy. But I couldn’t get myself to say so because his face seemed gloomy.
At the end I let it be since I need to go to office someday. So why not today? I thought to myself.
I eat the breakfast in silence after that. Mr Gold , young master Roberts and Liam were talking about their project and all. And the conversation wasn’t very interesting at all.
When we were done with the breakfast, Mr. Gold said he wanted us to go to office in a car. Mr. Roberts refused directly “Are you nuts, I need to go my separate way after the office you know”
“Where are you going? Aren’t you coming back here? “Mr. Gold asked.
“No, I still need to visit Roberts family. They must be furious I’m fooling around instead of coming home. ” he replied.
“Ok then, you go ahead. Are you going to Roberts group first or Roberts family? “Mr. Gold asked.
“Why don’t you come to visit old master Robert with me? It’s been long since you’ve visited him. ” Mr. Roberts said to Me. Gold. He went silent for q while beforr nodding.
“It’s been a quite a while “Mr. Gold said ” I’ll get off the office sooner today. Call me before you go back to Robert family ”
Samuel Roberts nodded “Let’s see you after few hours. I’ll be get going now” Mr. Roberts said as he got in his car and left the purple gold villa.
Our driver pulled up car just than and we all got seated on the car. We stayed in our seat as usual as we went to the office.
Today I didn’t get off before the office and I entered the Golden’s gate in the white Mercedes. Of course it was attracting lot of attention as usual. They started whispering something in each others ears when I got off the car. I felt akward as every eyes were on me. I lowered my head and walked behind Mr. Gold and Liam to the office.
As soon as I entered the door, a hand squeezed my wrist and pulled me aside. I looked up to meet Anyee’s big eyes squinted at me. ” What happened? “I asked her afraid of that I had made some mistakes.
“Where the hell were you? You didn’t even have your cell phone active nor you came online. Where have you been all this while. I have been worried sick. I have called you dozens of times in these few days.” Anyee said as if she was about to eat me alive.
“Ohh, I’m sorry for that. I broke my phone and I don’t have any phone right now ” I smiled sheepishly at her. She looked at me with guilt “Oh I’m sorry. I was so angry with you that I forgot about other possibilities. Why don’t you tell me Anyee had moved out? “she screamed at me.
“I’m sorry, I forgot to tell you. I was….”
“Riley, you can talk to her later. I guess you can’t have private discussion at the office hours ” Mr Gold snapped at us.
I looked at Anyee and she seemed scared of mr gold. “Good morning Mr. Gold. I’m sorry for keeping her talking to me. I’ll go now” she said quickly “Hey I’ll catch up with you later. Let’s meet after the working hour ” Anyww suggested.
I barely nodded when I saw Anyee fleeing away from us. I could tell that she was so scared of the encounter With Mr Gold. Not to forget she used to have a huge crush on him.
“Let’s go Mr Gold” I turned to Mr gold and he rolled his eyes at me. I smiled at him weakly Simce that was the only thing I could do at the moment.
He walked into the elevator and so did Liam. I follow behind them. They moved so fast with their long legs that I have to run to keep up the pace with them.
When I finally entered the elevator with then they were looking at me as if I have dpne something wrong. I looked at the reflection in the mirror just to confirm I was OK.
After a while, the elevator door got closed and it begin to go up. The seconds passed by as it was going up and the atmosphere in the elevator was tensed up. No one was speaking Thwre. It was as if they had also stopped their breathe.
I was standing right behind Mr. Gold and I was feeling the cold aura coming out of him. It was really weird, Mr. Gold was someone else when he was home and another person at out of the home. Now he was back to his usual cold self.
Thankfully in a while the elevator stopped and the door opened with a slide. Mr. Gold set up the foot out first and then Liam and I shadowed behind him…
When we reach the vice president’s office, I saw Bella was in her office writting somethingon a note. She didn’t saw us going or esle she might have come to us to greet Mr gold.
We walked past the employees and all of them get off their seat as they bowed in front of him.
When we reached the room, I went to Mr gold’s table and make the table tidy before he came to sit on it. I make the important files on the top. Liam came started guiding me with the files.
When we were doing the work there I heard a angry growl from behind ” I took you to office so that you would overcome your fear. Not that you can flirt with others in front of me ” he said. I looked at him in confusion, what was he talking about?
When did I flirt and who did I flirt with? It was just a common talk. He was just helping me…. Besides… Why does it matter to him ?
I was thinking about all these when he grabbed my hand and take me to the lounge. He take me inside and make me sit on the bed there. “You stay here, you don’t need to work ” he said.
“No, I’m fine. I can work… Besides I don’t want to stay here without doing anything ” I said to him.
He keep staring at me for a while before saying “I and Liam are going to a meeting. I don’t want you to go there” he said.
“Can’t I go with you? I don’t want to stay here alone ” I said with a pleading tone.
He seemed unsatisfied with my request as he started frowning “I’ll have a long meeting today. You’ll feel bored” he said at the end.
“I will take some books with me there or maybe some files. I can keep doing work like that”” I smiled at him. His eyes before a bit gentle as he reached out his hand in my head and stroked my hair.
“You like this? ” I asked him as I got up.
“Like what? ” he asked back.
“You like to mess up my hair? ” I asked again.
He looked at me and smiled as he walked out of the room. I as usual tailed behind him. Liam was dealing with some of the papers there alone. I wanted to help him so I walked up to him. But after few steps I felt something was holding me behind. I tried to force myself forward when I realised i was stucked at something.
I looked back and saw Mr gold was holding a hem of my shirt. I looked at his eyes and they were joint together. What…. I raised my eyebrows towards him and he looked back at the sofa.
I knew what he meant. He want me to go and sit back at the sofa. I shook my head and went to the sofa. It was so out of Mr Gold’s daily reaction he was asking me to stay away from Liam.
I was on the sofa while he went up to Liam. “Is everything ready? ” he asked.
“Yes, everything is well prepared for the meeting. I hope we will get the deal done. ” Liam smiled at Mr. Gold.
“I need some story books before the meeting” He asked.
“Now? ” Liam asked confused. To his answer Mr. Gold said “Is that a problem? ”
Liam quickly shook his head ” no no, not at all. What kind of story so you prefer? ” Liam asked him.
