Chapter 933 Tree God Mountain

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

After the unexpected deaths of his mother and sister, Aadam’s father went insane, leaving Aadam on the brink of collapse. He gave up his business to care for his father day and night, afraid that he would lose him too.
Upon hearing Stan’s story, Leo’s first reaction was that there was a problem with the geomancy at the Dickson family burial site which led to Aadam’s mother and sister’s deaths. The Dickson family geomancy masters were probably just amateurs, resulting in their tragedy.
It took nearly three hours by car to reach Spirit Wells Village. Upon arriving at the Dickson family estate, Leo met Stan’s cousin Aadam and his insane father.
At first sight of Leo, disappointment was written all over Aadam’s face; after all, it was because of that damn geomancy master that their once happy home had turned into what it is now. And yet here stood this young man who Stan claimed had great geomancy skills – how could this be possible?
Seeing Aadam’s disbelief, Stan felt embarrassed and pounded his chest, trying to convince him. Under a series of assurances and strong recommendations, Aadam began to have some doubts about Leo’s abilities.
With the consecutive tragedies weighing on Aadam’s mood, Leo tried to console him with understanding. He said, “Mr. Dickson, given the circumstances, please accept my condolences. I believe there might be an issue with the geomancy of your grandfather’s burial site. Can you take me there to have a look?”
Aadam composed himself, nodding in agreement.
Since the car couldn’t reach the mountain, Aadam rode his tricycle from home, taking the two of them towards the mountain.
Although the White Iris Mountain wasn’t very tall, it stood out among the surrounding small peaks. The mountain path was indeed difficult to traverse, and without the tricycle, it would have taken considerable effort to climb up.
Aadam’s grandfather was buried near the mountaintop. Judging from the terrain of the burial site alone, it was indeed better than some of the surrounding graves.
Arriving at their destination and standing at the peak of White Iris Mountain, they had a clear view of the surrounding topography. While it wasn’t a remarkable geomantic treasure land, it was still a good place to bury the deceased.
Aadam kowtowed three times at his grandfather’s grave, his face filled with sorrow as he stood up.
“That geomancy master claimed that the White Iris Mountain holds a spiritual aura and has good geomancy. It’s all just nonsense!” Aadam muttered to himself, unsure if he was addressing his deceased grandfather, Leo, or Stan.
Leo approached Aadam’s grandfather’s grave, observing with his eyes while extending his spiritual awareness, beginning his geomantic divination.
When the divination was complete, a strange expression appeared on Leo’s face.
The results of the divination showed that everything was in order, and the placement of Aadam’s grandfather’s grave was indeed the best location.
Even after surveying the entire White Iris Mountain, he didn’t discover anything special.
This didn’t make sense. If everything was fine, then how did Aadam’s mother and sister suddenly die, and both of them were females?
It seemed that without employing some means, the hidden truth would not reveal itself.
At such times, the role of geomantic tools became apparent.
Geomantic divination was like solving a case or unraveling a mystery. Often, the details determined success or failure.
Leo took out a compass he had purchased before and held it in his right hand while forming a hand seal with his left hand. Simultaneously, he slowly infused the Spiritual Power from within himself into the compass.
As the Spiritual Power entered, the needle of the compass began to rotate.
It wasn’t rotating quickly, but it didn’t stop either.
In theory, by using Spiritual Power to enhance the compass’s sensitivity to the surrounding energy fields, the needle should have quickly stopped rotating, indicating the positions of the eight trigrams and nine palaces, providing a basis for evaluating the geomantic quality of the area.
But why did the needle keep spinning without stopping?
Could it be that there was… a secondary energy field here?
What was a secondary energy field?
A secondary energy field meant that within the current energy field formed by the White Iris Mountain, there was another hidden energy field.
As the saying goes, “There cannot be two tigers on one mountain.” Generally, it was impossible for one place to contain two energy fields.
The appearance of a secondary energy field meant that there was a hidden and profoundly concealed geomantic formation here.
No wonder that mediocre geomancy master couldn’t discern it.
Although Leo had already seen some clues, he still couldn’t see through what hidden geomantic formation was present in this place.
In theory, burying a deceased person in a certain location at home, regardless of whether the geomancy of that place is good or bad, would generally take several years, or even decades, to have an impact on the fortune of the family members.
In the case of the Dickson family, such extreme events occurring just seven days after the burial of the grandfather was clearly not in line with common sense.
Leo put the compass back into his backpack and started wandering around the mountaintop. Although Stan and Aadam were confused, neither of them disturbed him.
After wandering for quite some time, Leo suddenly asked, “Mr. Dickson, did grass used to grow on the White Iris Mountain?”
“Grass?” Aadam paused for a moment, trying to recall. After a while, he shook his head and said, “Since I can remember, I’ve never seen any grass growing on the White Iris Mountain. According to the elders, the mountain is protected by the Tree God, so no grass can grow.”
“Tree God?” This term made Leo furrow his brow. “Have you noticed that even though there are trees on White Iris Mountain, they are all very short, none of them taller than one meter.”
Leo’s remark caught Stan’s attention, and he also noticed the peculiarity of the place. Looking around, he realized that the trees on the mountain were indeed very low in height.
This was completely unscientific. Most of these trees were holly and pine trees, mixed with some camphor trees. Moreover, it was evident that these trees were not recently planted. According to logic, after a few years, these trees should have reached a height of four to five meters. How could they be so short?
“Mr. Bloomer, now that you mention it, I suddenly feel that this place is really strange. Aadam, you were born and raised in the Village. These trees…” Stan looked at Aadam with confusion.
Aadam shook his head. “I’m not sure either, but people in the village never cut down trees on the mountain. It is said that if you cut down a tree on White Iris Mountain, someone in your family will definitely have bad luck.”
“That’s strange,” Stan scratched his head. “Mr. Bloomer, look, there are many graves on the mountain. Why did only my cousin’s family have an incident?”
Leo didn’t hear Stan’s question. He had already started calculating in his mind.
If we consider this White Iris Mountain as the center of the Bagua, with Aadam’s grandfather’s grave in the middle, with the Wound Gate open… could it be…
His heart trembled, and Leo was astonished, his mouth agape. Then, he seemed to go crazy, walking around Aadam’s grandfather’s grave.
He would take three steps and then pause, continuing this pattern until he completed a full circle. Suddenly, Leo jumped down the hill behind the grave.
Amidst Stan and Aadam’s exclamations, Leo quickly climbed back up, his face showing a smile of puzzle-solving success.
