I felt embarrassed as they both looked at me.
Liam pressed the bell and in a while a waiter came to take order from us. We gave them out order and soon or was arrived. We eat our lunch there. I was hungry so I eat so fast that I choked there. Mr Gold passed me a glass of water.
I gulped down the water and then looked at him. He had a concern look on his face. I look another side and Liam was smiling at us. I quickly lowered my head awkwardly.
After that I eat slowly being so certain that I chew properly and won’t choke this time. While I was eating Mr gold put a piece of meat in my plate. I looked at him confused but he wasn’t looking at me.
I ate the meat and my food quick. When we all were done eating, I got up of the sofa to leave the room. But after few steps I realised they were still seated in the sofa.
I turned back and looked at them “Who asked you to go out? ” Me Gold said.
I was confused, why was he staying still even after the meeting and the lunch?
“Isn’t til done now? ” I asked.
“Did I say so?” he said coldly.
I walked back up to him and sat next to him. In a while a waiter came in and clean up the table. They both were occupied with their phone but I was starting to feel bored. Why won’t these people head home after the work was done?
In a while, there was a knock in the door.. They both looked up of their mobile phone. I don’t know who was coming in so I also looked up.
“Good morning Mr Gold” the woman stay froze at her place as she saw me. A big gasp escape my mouth as I saw Mrs Wilson in the room. What on earth was she doing?
The door got pushed open again and Sarah and our lawyer came in. What are they here for? A question popped in my head.
“Good morning Mrs Wilson. Please have a seat ” Liam said to my mom.
I was still on shock to see her here. I don’t know what kind of emotion was it, But I felt weird feelings inside me as I saw her and Sarah here.
Mom was still standing there, Sarah came up to her and put her hand on mom’s shoulder. Mom’s face regained the faded color, and she smiled at my direction or rather Mr. Gold’s direction.
“Hello Mr Gold” Sarah greeted sweetly to Mr Gold.
I looked at Mr Gold and he nodded. I don’t know but I felt like Mr gold was not very happy with them.
“Please have a seat Mrs Wilson and young miss of Wilson family. ” Liam said.
They both came and sat in front of me on the sofa and the lawyer followed closely behind.
“Thank you for your time Mr. Gold” Mom said.
They had some documents with them in their hands. They put it down on the table.
Mom glared at me with disgusted look for a few seconds. But before I could say something she moved her eyes to Mr Gold with a beautiful smile on her face.
“We just wanted to know the detailed description of the needed things. I hope you had already prepared those” she said.
“Of course, we have here” Liam said pushing a paper in front of them.
“Why is your lawyer here when you are here to take the information from us? ” Mr Gold was glaring at the lawyer.
“Oh, don’t worry about him. He is with me because I prefer to take him around with me. ” Mrs Wilson said.
“You can call it a day, you got what you asked for” Liam said.
Mrs Wilson frowned a bit at his words and then looked at Mr Gold with a pleasing eyes.
“Mr Good now that we are business partners can I request you for something? ” Mom said.
“Go ahead”
“Oh, now that you are doing the business with us together there is one more favor I want to ask you for. ” mom said “Since my daughter is so qualified and talented, I wanted to ask you if my daughter can work under you and learn something. That will be a great help. She is the one who will look after Wilson family business in the near future. So.. Can you take her under your wings and teach her some business skills.”
I was in shock of what my said. What was she thinking of? Sarah can learn business on her own, she don’t need anyone to teach her… And what was she taking Me Good for?
I looked at Mr Gold to know what his answer would be. He seems to wondering the answer himself. He had his one hand on his chin slowly squeezing his thin chin and his another hand was tapping on his leg.
He nodded after a while and then he said “Ask her to come to my company after two months, there will be some new staff appointed at that time.”
Mom’s hand turned into a fist as she heard his answer. But I was quite satisfied with the answer. At least I don’t have to see her all the time at the office.
“Mr Gold… Leave my mom. She’s just worried about me. Please don’t take it to heart. By the way we wanted to invite you to the anniversary party of my mom and dad at 12th of this month. Please take the card.” she handed a card to Mr Gold.
Liam extend his instead and took the card from her instead. Sarah’s face froze for a while before she smiled at Liam.
“Of course Mr Gold will consider about that. He is very busy this month but since you are already working together, he will take out time and consider about your invitation. ” Liam said with a professional smile.
“Thank you for so much. I’ll be waiting for you at the party. And I hope we will be seeing each other since we work together now. ” My mom said.
Mr gold nodded at my mom and Liam got up of his seat “Mr Gold still needs to meet someone else now. Since the work is done, I think we should part our ways now. ” Liam said
“Of cause, of course. He is such a busy man after all. We will keep seeing each other ” Mom said.
“Mom let’s go now. ” Sarah put her hands around my mom.
“Ohh sure. Look at my daughter Mr Gold. she is so sweet and determined just like you. ” she added “we will meet soon ”
Mr Gold was looking at her without blinking Jesus eyes. He had cold face and it was hard to guess what he was thinking of..
“Thank you for your time today. Good day Mr Gold” Sarah bowed to Mr Gold and dragged mom away. The lawyer also Gabe a quick bow and ran after them out of the room.
I felt a bit relieved as soon as they got out. It was a good thing they didn’t act as they know me even she was my mom and the other one was my sister. Right? I felt something inside me in pain.
I shook the thought away. I looked at Liam to ask who was the another client but he was drinking wine in a relax mood.
“Liam” I called out.
“Hmm… Do you need anything? Should I order something for you? ” he said.
Mr gold looked at me with the glass of wine in his hand. I shook my head in denial that I need anything to eat or drink.
“Oh, I was asking where is the next meeting? ” I asked.
“This was it, there are no more meetings today. I wanted to relax a bit so I made the schedule this way. And yeah if you can want you can also join with is or you can go back to home or office… As you like” Liam said.
I looked at him and then to Mr Gold. What is he saying? Is he out of his mind?
“Didn’t you said that you had to meet someone else, that was why you wanted Mrs Wilson to leave? ” I demanded explanation.
“Oh that. I said it casually, don’t worry. You can relax for today.” he said.
Relax? What did I do as an assistant till now? Isn’t it all relaxing that I don’t even have to work as much as I worked as financial officer back then?
I shook my head as I couldn’t say those words loud. I excused myself from them saying bathroom and get out of the room.
