He went silent after that and as well as me. I know i cant come in front of her after her turning. But i have to find a way to make her safe.
“What about the meetings today? Is everything ready? ”
“Yes indeed, he was more than happy to see you.”
I nodded and went to the office. Riley wasn’t in the office when we walked in.
Liam went to his table and went busy with his works, I also need to finish my works.
In a while there was a knock in the door. “Come in” I said not looking up.
The door pushed open and someone came in high hills. I looked up thinking it was Bella but it was not Bella. It was Riley. She had two cup of coffee in her hands, she put one of them in my table and took another to Liam’s.
“Riley, I need your help with something.” Liam said.
Riley nodded and went up to him… He gave some papers to her and asked to look over something on it.
Riley came back to the sofa and sat with the stacks of papers. I think it was something related to financial thing because she was using a calculator. I was doing my work though but my eyes would go up to her from time to time.
She was very innocent. I remembered her face from last night, she was so scared of her dream that she began to hug me and cry. I felt my heart piercing when I saw her crying. When I hold her in my arms, the pictures of her when we first met came in my mind. She was crying back then just like now. I felt the need of protecting her. I wanted to protect her even of her bad dreams. But I was chained…
I shook those thoughts and focus back on the paper in front of me. It was so boring. I took a sip of coffee next to me.
We were busy with the paperwork until one in the afternoon. When we finished our work, it was almost lunch time. But we had our meeting fixed with someone else. So we headed to the meeting.
We reached to one of the restaurant in A city. It was quite a beautiful place filled with luxury. We went to one of my private room and waited for them to come.
While we were waiting Riley’s stomach growled once. I looked at her and she hold her stomach with red face. She was so embarrassed that she didn’t even looked up.
“I’ll call the waiter if you are hungry. ” Liam suggested.
“No, I’m fine. ” she said and her stomach growled once more. She become more red with embarrassment.
“I’ll go to washroom and come. ” she got up and ran out of the room.
Riley’s pov
When I came out of the room, I realised I don’t know this place at all and I don’t even know where this place was or where the washroom was. I walked in the long corridor by myself when I bumped into someone.
“I’m sorry, I.. ” I looked up to see Thomas White standing right in front of me. I felt my knees go weak at his sight. That scary night still had it’s impression on my head. I got up and tried to walk away to ignore him. But he was not going to leave me alone.
“Hey you! Stop there, I finally got you again.”he came in front of me and stand at my way. I tried to walk back but a creepy looking man was at the back of me with a devil smile on his face.
“Who is she? ” The creepy guy asked “She’s beautiful.”
“She is the daughter of Miranda Wilson. The one I told you about. ” he step a few steps ahead ” They are such a scam, they took my money and not even let me do my work. When I asked the money back, they even dare to blackmail me with my wife’s name. ”
He looked at me with hateful eyes. “Now that she’s finally found, I’ll make sure you pay for everything. I’ll make sure you suffer.” he said with a crazy laughter closely following behind.
He looked at me up and down “You did a great job back then. You are even beautiful now.” he said.
“Dad, Let’s go. We can’t afford to make him wait. ” the creepy man said looking up and down at me. I didn’t said anything to them.
“Are you a worker here? Hahaha you must be. A girl sold by own mom can’t have any other work than housekeeping. You must be a housekeeper in this hotel. Hahaha… I know i had a great day today, first I’m going to meet the most important man and then I got you ” he tried to grab my hand.
I pushed him away hard. He stumbled a few steps and took control of his body before he fall. He looked at me with furious eyes.
“You are doomed girl. You dare hit me, you just wait for the problem to came in your way. I’ll get back to you since I know you work here.” he said and went to the opposite side if the corridor.
I gathered up my courage and walked straight to the end of corridor. I was about to turn back when I saw a big sign of a girl on one of the door.
I took a deep breathe and walked inside. My stomach growled once again and I shook my head. This was going to make me embarrass in front of everyone today.
I turn on the tap and drank some water. I wanted to wash my face to get fresh but I had makeup on my face, so I couldn’t. Thankfully my stomach didn’t fight with me anymore after some drops of water. I took a deep breath and then fixed my dress before coming back to Mr Gold.
I opened the door and walked in. Mr Gold looked at me and smiled. Liam also gave me a quick glance at my direction. I saw there were two man at the opposite side of them. They must be the client, I thought.
I went to the sofa and sat next to Mr Gold and looked at the clients in front of me. My jaw dropped in the floor as I saw that jerk Thomas White and the creepy looking man in there. Are they the man we had our meeting with? Was all the morning make up and dress for this? I thought.
Even though he was a creep that I don’t want to met ever, it was better that he met here. I can at least pretend here and that might help me to keep him stay away. After all I was the personal assistant of the richest man of the A city.
I smiled at the thought and looked at that jerk to see his expression. His face wasn’t any better either. His eyes were furrowed.
“Well here is the design that we want to have for the house. Look at these and decide how much close can you come. We need a strong house as it is at the side I’d a lake. Discuss and make a plan how you want to carry over the work. Gave us a proper detail so that we can let you work there.” Liam said putting down some papers in the table.
“Of course, we’ll make the house as you wish. There is no need to worry about the quality. It will be a strong house for the water or for the air. ” Thomas White said. I can saw sweats were dropping off his head. I felt so good to see his some loose points.
“Well then, let’s cut it off today. We will expect you to meet you with the further detail sooner and hope you can make it quick. ” Liam said as he got up.
Thomas white and that creepy man also got up from their seats.
“Don’t worry, you won’t even know that day passes and I’ll be in front of you. Thank you for your time today. ” he bowed to Mr Gold. “Good day Mr. Gold. ”
The other one nodded and soon they were out of the room.
“It was so short meeting. ” Liam said as they got out.
“People like them aren’t qualified enough to have my time. ” Mr Gold said being full of himself.
“Yeah yeah, you and your attitude. ” Liam said.
“What did you said? ” Mr Gold looked at him with squinted eyes.
“Nothing let’s have something. Or else her stomach will start growling ” Liam said as he look at me.
