Feeling the chieftain’s bad mood, the villagers stopped their noisy and crowded behavior. If they angered the chieftain, they would suffer the consequences.
In the courtyard, there were only a few green trees and some fitness equipment. Why did Fraser call everyone here? Was it for some kind of divination?
Fraser looked up at the sky, then down at the ground, then over at a tree. Leo couldn’t help but ask, “Have you decided what we’re divining?”
Fraser pointed to a small tree next to him that was over three meters tall and said, “Let’s divine how much these leaves weigh!”
Guessing how much a tree’s leaves weigh was an unheard-of method of divination. The first villager who heard about it spread this information out step by step until even those who were quiet began discussing it in low voices.
“I didn’t hear wrong, right? Guessing how much one tree’s leaves weigh? How do we even do that?” One villager exclaimed in surprise.
“The chieftain said so himself; I don’t understand either. Leaves grow on branches; even if you guess correctly, how can you calculate weight?” Another villager raised his own doubts.
“If you don’t understand it, just keep watching; since Chieftain chose this method of divination he must have his reasons.”
Leo also couldn’t figure out what Fraser was up to and asked, “How do we count how many leaves are on this tree? Does new growth count towards its weight?”
Fraser’s mouth curved into a sly smile as he walked to the tree and reached out, grabbing the trunk. A sound of rustling leaves filled the air, and amidst the trembling of the small tree, the leaves fell like rain, but not a single one landed on Fraser.
In just over ten seconds, the once lush and verdant tree became bare, with only branches remaining.
Fraser’s incredible ability spread like wildfire among the villagers, with each person passing it on to ten others, and so on. This attracted the attention of the onlookers, who stood on tiptoes and craned their necks to get a glimpse, resembling ducks caught by the neck.
Fraser pointed at the fallen leaves on the ground and said, “Let’s divine the weight of these leaves. Whoever guesses the weight closest to the actual weight wins. How about that?”
Upon hearing this divination method, Antonio, acting as the referee, couldn’t help but reveal a smirk. In his eyes, this method of divination was no different from blind guessing. It all came down to who guessed correctly.
The other onlookers shared Antonio’s thoughts. They couldn’t believe that the weight of so many leaves could be divined accurately. Most likely, it was just a guess.
Leo pondered for a moment and nodded, saying, “Alright, let’s divine the weight of these leaves on the ground!”
Fraser’s face turned serious, signaling the surrounding villagers to step back a bit. He then used his right hand to pinch his fingers and began to walk around the perimeter of the fallen leaves, muttering words under his breath.
Fraser’s murmurs were barely audible, too soft for ordinary people to make out.
However, Leo could hear them clearly and his heart skipped a beat. He thought to himself, “He’s actually using the Plum Blossom Divination method.”
After approximately three minutes, Fraser, who had been moving around, came to a stop and announced a number, “The leaves weigh 5 kilograms.
Upon hearing Fraser’s declaration, Bentley immediately arranged for someone to prepare a weighing scale. The onlookers in the village, intrigued by the situation, began speculating on the total weight of the leaves. Some guessed 4 kilograms, some 4. 5kilograms, while others ventured with 5. 5 or 6 kilograms, all of which were close to Fraser’s announced weight.
After employing the Plum Blossom Divination method, Fraser had great confidence in his declared weight. He eagerly awaited Leo’s announcement so that the leaves could be collected and weighed.
Naturally, all eyes turned to Leo, curious to see whether he would directly guess the weight or employ some other method.
“Do you have any chalk?” Leo inquired.
“Sir, I have some,” a child’s voice rang out. Then, a young child with an innocent face approached Leo and handed him a piece of chalk.
“Thank you, little friend,” Leo smiled as he accepted the chalk. He then walked over to the pile of leaves and randomly picked six of them.
Without hesitation, Leo squatted down in place and began writing on the ground with the chalk. He wrote down six numbers: 8. 5, 9, 9. 5, 10, 10. 5, and 11. Once he finished writing the numbers, he placed one leaf on top of each corresponding digit.
