She was talking to Anyee and Rick. I don’t know what they were talking about but they all looked at me while I went to my car. I looked back at them and I saw Riley quickly turning her head otherwise while Anyee and Rick bowed a bit at me.
I gave them a small nod before I got into my car. But I didn’t want to go like this. I mean I want to take her with me. I know I can’t take her home from the Company’s compound or in front of her friends. So I asked my driver to move the car a bit far from them and park it aside to wait for her.
The driver did as he was told to and parked the car at the end of turning. I can see Riley still there on the compound from the rearview mirror. They keep talking about something for some more time. Maybe they were catching up with each other.
It was more than ten minutes I was waiting for her in that turning when she finally said goodbye to them and came out of the gate.
She was raising her hand to stop tcab for a while. But as the cab were not stopping, she started to come by walking. I was happy that she was walking down the street because if she don’t come ahead and wait for some cab, my wait will go to vein.
I took out my phone and dialed her number. I just need to tell her to come ahead. Or she’ll be worried that she have to move to home. So it’s better that I say I’m waiting for her. Right?
Beep beep beep beep
The call was ringing and I was looking at her from the rearview mirror. She opened her bag after few ring of the phone and took out her phone in her hand.
“Hello ” she answered the phone.
“Come over. I’m….”
But when I was saying those sentence, I saw her hopping in a car that just pulled up in front of her.
“Hello, what were you saying? I didn’t hear anything….” she said through the phone.
I cut the phone and throw it at a corner. The cab come in a speed and went past our Mercedes with a loud horn.
I wasn’t mad at her or the cab driver. I was angry at my luck, at my stupidity and at myself. If I had called her a while ago or I have talked to her in the office, she would have been here with me now.
“Go home. ” I asked the driver to drive the car. I took a deep breath looking outside and smiled at my own stupidity.
‘So what if she isn’t going back in my car? I live next to her and I can talk to her anytime I want. I can see her again. Don’t worry Willis, you’ll see her in a while. ” Ray said .
I glared at him with fire in my eyes “I’m not the one who is so possessive over her. It’s you.” I shouted at him.
He scoffed at me. “Don’t blame me everytime. You should see yourself in the mirror sometimes. ”
“Whatever” I rolled my eyes at him.
The driver was driving the car as fast as wind. He might have guess what was going on and he catch up with the cab and even left it behind.
So when we reach the community compound, the cab hasn’t arrived yet. I smiled with satisfaction. I got off the car and waited for Riley to come.
After a few more minutes the cab entered and Riley came down the cab. She paid for it and move towards the elevator. I quickly followed her.
When the elevator door was about to closed, I stopped it with my leg and entered. I could see her face blushed and she got nervous.
I didn’t looked at her even though all I want to do was to keep looking at her.
“I’m going to cook food today.” I said to her not looking at her face. But I was looking at the walls of lift and I can saw her shocked face on the wall.
“What? ” she asked again. But the elevator door opened and there was two girls from our floor standing outside the elevator. I have seen them around here. I walked out of the elevator and so did she.
“Hii…. I’m Moley. I live over there. I guess you are our neighbor . Right? ” one of them said extending her hand in front of me. She looked probably twenty or so.
I looked at Riley and she was looking at me. I feel kind of jealousy from her. And It was cute. She tried to hide it from her face but she didn’t know that I can even feel what she was feeling.
I wanted to make her more jealous. I don’t know why I wanted that but I wanted it. So I exchanged handshake with her. I looked at Riley, she wasn’t far away but she was pretending that she wasn’t looking at us.
“Yeah, I’m Willis and I moved in a while ago and I’ve seen you guys here. ” I smiled at her.
“And she is Rebecca. My friend and roommate.” Moley introduced and Rebecca extend her hand towards me. I also shook hands with her and looked at Riley from the corner of my eye and she was looking at her hands with pained expression. Shit, I pulled back my hand went up to her.
“You OK? ” I asked in a panic voice. In all that jealousy thing, I forget she’ll feel a burn when I touch other girls.
“Yeah, seems like I can’t cook today. Hope you can make it empty stomach till tomorrow. ” she said in bot so happy tone.
“I….”
“Why don’t you come with us? We are going to have dinner out now. If you want to come, we’ll love your company. ” the other one said.
“Yeah, we were bored anyway. It’ll be good to have a handsome company like you. ” the another said with a wink.
“I’m sorry, I need to cook for my wife too. Look she had got pain in her hand. ” I said looking at hand of Riley.
The girls looked at me with disappointment and asked “Are you guys couple? ”
I nodded in agreement and looked down to see Riley’s expression and she was looking at me too. As soon as our eyes met she scoffed and pulled her hand back from mine.
“Who told you that we are couple? ” she said and then went inside her room.
I looked at the girls and they were smiling awkwardly at us.
“Your girlfriend seems to be angry ” Rebecca said smiling.
“See you around. ” I said and then went to my room.
I went to the washroom and took a quick shower. My mate should have a perfect chef. I said as I look myself in the mirror. I set blow my hair and smiled at myself.
I quickly got dressed in some track suit and went to her door and pressed the doorbell.
Ting ding…
There was no any response.
Ting ding…
I pressed the button once more. And no response again.
Ting ding ting ding…..
I was annoyed and started to ring the bell non stop. Even though I heard some noise inside, I didn’t stopped ringing the bell.
I finally stopped when my beautiful mate opened the door with a pissed expression.
“Why did you take so much time?” I questioned as I walked inside past her.
“Why are you here? Didn’t I told you that I can’t make food today? My hand hurts. ” she said with her face pouting like a bun.
“Yeah I know, but I guess you also need to have dinner. ” I said with a smile. I know that her hand burn was not that bad and she had powers inside her which will heal her till now. But if she want to pretend, let her do it.
“What do you mean? ” she asked with her eyes full of confusion.
“I’m your chef today. ” I said as I pushed her head back with a finger.
She looked at me with her mouth open and then after a while she closed it and crossed her hand in front of her chest. “Don’t joke around. ” she speak looking away.
“Why would I joke? I’m here to cook dinner for us. ” I said with a smile.
She looked at me making her eyes small as if she was trying to read me with her eyes focusing my eyes.
I nodded at her more.
