Chapter 886 Cemetery

“You take me to find that Ghost Mother!” Leo made a determined decision.
This frightened the old ghost who looked at Leo incredulously and hesitated before saying, “This…”
Leo knew what she was afraid of. He surged with Spiritual Power and pressed down on her, sternly saying, “If you don’t take me there, then you will be scattered here. If you take me to find that Ghost Mother, perhaps I can help you reincarnate again. You better think about it.”
“You are not even her opponent,” said the old ghost bluntly.
Leo sneered, “I don’t believe she is really Ghost Mother. If she really is Ghost Mother, then what will happen after being controlled by her? You know better than I do. Are you going to take me or not?”
The female ghost hesitated for a moment but finally made up her mind, “I hope it’s as you say. Follow me.”
“Mr. Booth, to solve Oakley’s problem, we must get rid of Ghost Mother. I’m going to find Ghost Mother now. Until this is resolved, Oakley should stay in this room and not go to his mother’s ward,” Leo explained.
Angus nodded quickly and said respectfully, “I will leave it to you, Dr. Bloomer.”
They left the hospital and hailed a taxi on the street. After Leo told the driver the destination, the driver looked at Leo strangely for a while.
The driver seemed hesitant to go, but when Leo offered a high fare, he gathered the courage to let Leo get in the car.
The destination was a cemetery.
Going to a cemetery at night, it was no wonder the driver doubted Leo’s motives.
During the drive to the cemetery, the usually talkative driver fell silent. He prayed in his heart that the silent person sitting in the passenger seat wouldn’t be a robber.
Driven by these worries, the driver sped up.
After driving for a while, he realized that his back had been feeling chilly. His car had never been this cold before. The driver turned on the air conditioning, but it had no effect.
Sometimes, the driver even suspected that there was a person sitting in the back seat, but when he looked in the rearview mirror, there was nothing there.
Looking at the person in the passenger seat, with his eyes half-closed, seemingly neither awake nor asleep, not saying a word throughout the journey, not responding to any of the driver’s questions.
No wonder the driver became more and more nervous. He had a ghost sitting behind him!
If he knew, he would probably slam the brakes and abandon the car on the spot.
Finally, they arrived at their destination, and Leo paid the fare as promised.
After receiving the money, the driver didn’t want to stay for a moment. He stepped on the gas pedal, made a sharp turn, and disappeared in a cloud of dust.
Avoiding the cemetery’s management office, Leo sneaked in.
The cemetery was even more eerie than the hospital morgue, a place where lonely souls and wild ghosts would usually choose to settle.
Under the cover of darkness, Leo walked towards the center of the cemetery, while gathering his Spiritual Power in his eyes, observing his surroundings.
Along the way, he did see quite a few lonely souls and wild ghosts, but these creatures had no cultivation, and once they sensed Leo, they scattered in all directions.
The old ghost walked behind Leo, and the deeper they went, the more fear she showed on her face.
Suddenly, a chilling voice rang out, “Old fellow, you have quite the nerve, bringing a Cultivator here.”
The voice made the old ghost behind Leo tremble, nearly losing her balance. She seemed terrified of the owner of that voice and stopped walking, intending to run.
“You wait here; I’ll go and meet her,” Leo turned around and said to the old ghost.
Continuing forward for a while, a terrifying and chilling laughter suddenly echoed.
With the horrifying laughter came a gust of cold wind.
Leo stopped and exclaimed, “The esteemed guest has arrived. Why not reveal yourself, the legendary Ghost Mother?”
The horrifying laughter abruptly ceased, and the howling wind vanished without a trace. The entire cemetery fell silent once again, eerily quiet, not even the sound of a cricket could be heard, chilling to the core.
A white figure slowly appeared about five to six meters away from Leo.
The figure took shape, revealing a female ghost wearing a white dress.
The female ghost had long flowing hair, delicate facial features, and a cold and aloof expression. She didn’t look scary at all; in fact, she was extremely beautiful.
Whether it was an ugly ghost or a beautiful ghost, they were all ghosts in essence. Leo had no mood to appreciate her beauty and looked at her coldly, asking, “Are you the Ghost Mother with nine offspring?”
“So what if I am?” The female ghost looked Leo up and down with disdain and arrogance in her eyes.
A cold smile appeared on Leo’s lips. “Little ghost, don’t insult the nine offspring of Ghost Mother. I see you as nothing more than a parasite.”
The words “parasite” made the female ghost widen her eyes and her face twisted into a ferocious expression. “What did you say!?”
“Isn’t it true? Relying on controlling lonely souls and wild ghosts to haunt humans for forty-nine days, waiting for the human’s positive energy to reach its lowest point, and then feeding on their three souls and seven spirits to nourish and enhance oneself. Isn’t that what a parasite does?” Leo spoke out the truth.
Instead, the female ghost burst into angry laughter. “It seems that you’re young but quite knowledgeable. But do you know that today next year will be your death anniversary?”
“That’s not necessarily true. I have confidence in dealing with a ghost like you.” Seeing through the female ghost’s background, Leo became calm.
The female ghost smirked ominously. “Is that so? Then let’s settle it right here!”
After saying that, the female ghost spread her arms, and the hair on her head stood up and began to dance.
Leo protected himself with his Spiritual Power and set up a protective barrier in front of him.
The black hair of the female ghost shot towards Leo like thousands of black needles.
The hair attacked the protective barrier, creating ripples like raindrops falling into water.
But the hair couldn’t break through the barrier.
Leo knew that it was just a test from the female ghost.
He directly summoned a Talisman and a gray-blue light shone upon the female ghost.
Like meat being roasted on charcoal, a sizzling sound echoed, and white smoke emerged from the female ghost’s body.
As the smoke rose, the female ghost let out a scream.
The scream was extremely piercing, and the beautiful face of the female ghost contorted.
What surprised Leo was that the female ghost didn’t dissipate under the gray-blue light.
The hair of the female ghost grew wildly, like silkworm threads, completely enveloping her.
The gray-blue light emitted by the burning Talisman had no effect on her hair.
