And in a while the table was filled with wine.
I drank few pegs in a row. I looked at her and she was going back to her previous seat. Her head was down while going to her seat.
“Well well well… Why not have some entertainment ? ” Loraine came up to the stage as soon as the guests were done visiting the bride and the groom.
“But since its the big day for Mr. and Mrs. Sheds… We’ll start the dance with them everyone. Please lets welcome Mr. and Mrs. Sheds in the dance floor… ”
A loud roar of applause was heard in the party hall.
Loraine came down the stage and the light went off.
My eyes were never off from my mate. Even in the darkness I could still see her. She looked at my direction as the light turned off.
She might have thought I can’t see her because it was dark. But I can see her trying to see me…
The spot light turned on and the bride and groom were at the middle of the stage. A romantic song played behind and she started shaking their body with the song.
I didn’t realize when the dance had finished. I was busy looking at my mate.
I was pulled back to the reality by the sound of applause.
I shook my head and the light came… the newly married couple bowed to their guests.
“Well that was what I call a performance. That’s What I call a performance… Everyone clap for them. ” Loraine said…
Clap , it was as is waiting for her to say it once… There was a loud noise from people clapping their hands.
Now, the stage is open for everyone else… You can dance on the stage as well..
In a while bride’s mom and dad went to the stage and danced, after a while another couple joined them on the stage. Few minutes later there were several couples on the stage.
I looked at her… She was enjoying the dance in front of her..
A while later Ethan and Cami joined the dance floor, Rick also asked Anyee to dance. Now there were only Jason and my mate left on their table.
They seemed to be talking about something, my mate was looking at me from time to time… I wonder what Jason was saying because she was shaking her hands again and again.
I felt extremely angry at how Jason was talking to her. In a while, he grip the wrist of my mate and dragged her to the dance floor.
This was the limit I have, you can’t touch her again and again, as you want…
Riley’s POV
I was denying Jason to let me go. I was never good at this. But he won’t listen. He dragged me to the dance floor.
I can feel a intense gaze on me all the while. Mr. Gold was looking at me angrily. I don’t know, what he was angry about.
“You know how bad I’m at dancing, please Jason I don’t want to dance. “I requested him.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be there Leyson. I won’t let you fall trust me.” he tried to assure me.
“Still… ”
“No more excuses Leyson. I want to catch up all the things I missed when I wasn’t here. ” he said.
We went to the dance floor and danced together. I was just following him wherever he was stepping. I was holding him around his both shoulders while he was holding my waist.
While dancing I saw Mr. Gold came to the stage with a girl and danced with him. I somehow felt uncomfortable inside.
Jason was saying something in my ears but my mind wasn’t here. I was looking at him and he too was staring at me all the time even though he had his partner in his hand.
In a while the partners were switching. one’s partner were going to be in another arm.
“What do I do Jason. I don’t know how to switch. ” I got anxious.
“Don’t worry, just do as they do. One round towards your partner and then when you roll away, hold another person’s hand. ” he said.
“Let it be Jason. I don’t want to dance anymore. ” I tried to get away as soon as possible.
“No we’ll dance more. ” he rolled me AMD then I ended up in his arms. Again he rolled me out of his arms.
I ended up with another man holding my hand , he bowed to us and then I too did that because everyone was doing that.
He and I danced for a while “Hey young lady, I’m Harry. “he said.
“I’m Riley. “I said dancing nervously. But he could say something else, I was into someone else’s hand. I dance and kept switching from person to person. Only the girls were switching the place where the boys were just still in their place.
In a while I reached to Ethan.
“Hey Ethan “I said.
“What’s up Riley. You dance well. ” Ethan praised but i know i was a bad dancer.
“I wish. ” i said as i was being passed to Rick from Ethan.
Rick hold my hand “Hey missy. ”
“You dance quite well Rick. ” I commented.
“I do but i never thought Mr. gold can dance and that too with a girl. ”
I got a bit froze at Mr. golds name. But fortunately Rick covered me and passed me forward.
I was going closer and closer to Mr. Gold. He was few people away from me. I was already feeling nervous to dance with him. Even though it’ll be for a short time.
His eyes were glued to me… He was continuously staring at me.
When i moved through the last person beside him, my heart was throbbing in my chest.
But i can’t just stop there. There were lots of people there.
I gave my hand to Mr. gold. When my hands touched his hands… I felt a shock wave ran through my body. I have been dancing with many people just now… And i felt this shock only from his touch… How unreasonable
He pulled me in his arms and hold me by my waist… I could feel his warm breath around my neck… i felt goosebumps all over my body. My ears and cheeks were burning red…
I could barely focus on dancing or the music… I was so close to him for the first time. I could hear his heartbeat…
He hold my hand and spun me around… But my eyes were glued to him… In a while it was time to switch… He sent me away…
But before i could reach in another person’s arm, he pulled me back in his arms and take me to the middle of the dancing couple.
Other people were looking at me but they continued their dance there…
He hold my both hands and put on his chest. I could feel his heartbeat .. it was so… Fast…
He than moved his hand to my waist and pulled me closer.
I looked up and saw his finely defined jawline.
In a while he looked down to me… His eyes were so dark, it was sharp though… I felt like it was going through my soul.
When he looked down, i felt his hot breath on my face and i felt hot all over my body.
He was making me move with the music, I don’t know what i was doing but i was just following his lead.
He bent forward and i bent backwards in response… He pulled me back to him and hold me tightly… I hit his chest with my face, i tried to came out of his arm but he hold me , then he bent to my ears and whispered “You are not allowed to dance with anyone else… Mate. ”
My eyes went wide in horror, why was he calling me mate? And what does it mean by i am not allowed… I wasn’t his property… I thought to myself.
“Whh do you want to control me… You aren’t my boss anymore. ”
“But you owe me money. ”
I looked at him, “You can’t do anything just because of money. I… ”
“Really mate? ”
I looked at him… What was this mate means… How did he knows about this ?
“What does mate means? ” i asked looking at his eyes.
“Don’t act like you don’t know .” he said to me flipping me.
I froze at our distance… he was so close to me. He is holding me in his arms and only the thing that is separating us is our clothes.
I felt my whole body becoming hotter and hotter. I wasn’t focused on the dance…
