Leo snorted and pulled out a special talisman from his body – a blood talisman!
With his current level of cultivation, Leo was unable to draw a fourth-level talisman, so he chose to draw a blood talisman just in case.
At the beginning of drawing the blood talisman, there was no difference between it and an ordinary talisman. To become a blood talisman, one must use their own essence as a guide and apply special handprints.
To put it simply, drawing a blood talisman not only consumes one’s spiritual power but also depletes some essence. Unlike spiritual power that can be quickly restored, essence requires cultivation and nurturing to obtain. It can take anywhere from several months to over a year.
When essence is depleted, people will feel weak and lethargic with constant drowsiness throughout the day. As Leo cast the spell with the blood talisman in hand, the fox demon’s pupils contracted.
“Divine punishment of heaven and earth! Five thunders strike down! The Jade Emperor commands urgently – kill!” Leo’s voice boomed like thunder as he struck each word into the fox demon’s heart.
With the last word he uttered, the sky erupted with thunder and lightning. A lightning bolt, carrying unparalleled momentum, slashed through the night sky, casting a blinding white light over the surroundings.
The first lightning bolt fiercely struck the fox demon’s phantom, causing it to abruptly shrink in size. Then came the second lightning bolt, followed by the third, fourth, and with the overwhelming power of the fifth lightning bolt, the fox demon’s phantom completely shattered.
As the phantom disintegrated, the fox demon lost its graceful levitation and fell to the ground. When the fifth lightning bolt struck, the fox demon was terrified, letting out a shrill scream, “No…”
Five thunderbolts, devastating and obliterating! Leo felt fortunate; fortunately, the fox demon had only seven tails. If it had eight or even nine tails, he might have been killed in retaliation.
Leaving the village, Leo took a taxi straight back to the clinic. During the ride, Leo called Madame and informed her that he had resolved the murderer.
In the morning, as soon as the clinic opened, a woman dressed in office attire arrived.
It was none other than Renee.
Renee had come to find Leo today, hoping to ask him to treat someone.
Leo naturally agreed to help Renee with her busy schedule.
Over half an hour later, Renee brought Leo to the gate of a villa.
“Hello, I’ve brought the doctor to see Mr. Melendrez. I’ve already informed Miss Melendrez in advance,” Renee said to the security guard.
The security guard nodded expressionlessly, checked with the walkie-talkie, and then opened the electronic gate for Leo and Renee.
Just as they reached the entrance of the main building, a glamorous woman in a long dress came to greet them.
The woman was exquisitely dressed, tall and proud, with an arrogant face, appearing like a queen.
She greeted, “Miss Browne, hello.”
Although she smiled as she greeted, she kept her hands clasped together, showing no intention of shaking hands.
With an arrogant tone and an air of superiority, she was clearly a wealthy person from Glathe.
“Miss Melendrez, hello,” Renee, familiar with her personality, showed no concern. “I heard that Mr. Melendrez is unwell, so I specially invited Dr. Bloomer to come over.”
“Leo, this is Clare Melendrez, Miss Melendrez,” Renee introduced Leo.
Leo politely extended his hand, “Miss Melendrez, hello.”
“You’re thoughtful,” Clare glanced at Leo, spoke courteously, but didn’t shake hands. She then turned her body, “My father is in the hall; follow me.”
Clare’s attitude made Leo frown slightly. Entering the villa’s hall, it was filled with books, porcelain, and plenty of gold ornaments, presenting a luxurious appearance.
On the sofa in the hall sat a middle-aged man in his fifties, with thin cheeks, glasses, and neatly combed hair. He seemed to be in discomfort, rubbing his head while furrowing his brows as he watched the news.
Standing on both sides of the middle-aged man were bodyguards, assistants, and a maid.
Leo immediately recognized the man; no wonder Renee had personally brought him to treat him. The middle-aged man was Baltasar Melendrez, a well-known tycoon in Glathe, often appearing in news and financial channels.
“Father, Miss Browne is here,” Clare stepped forward, changing her arrogant attitude, “and she brought a doctor for you.”
She glanced at Leo, seemingly unimpressed with this so-called traditional medicine practitioner. However, she wouldn’t reject him outright, leaving it to her father to decide.
“Miss Browne, thank you for your trouble,” Baltasar stood up, looking at Renee and smiling. “I have a minor illness, making you go through all this trouble.”
Then, Baltasar shook hands with Leo and Renee. Through the handshake, Leo used Spiritual Power to observe Baltasar’s condition.
“Mr. Melendrez, it’s not a bother. You are not only a VIP client of our Azure Financial but also a role model for me. It’s only natural for me to come and see you,” Renee said.
“Miss Browne, you’re too kind,” Baltasar dismissed the compliment and sat back on the sofa. He was used to such flattering words and paid them no mind.
He didn’t invite them to sit, nor did he instruct the servants to prepare tea. The atmosphere became somewhat awkward. Renee took out a gift and handed it over, saying, “Mr. Melendrez, this is a small token of my appreciation. I hope you accept it.”
Renee presented an expensive box of ginseng.
“Thank you, Miss Browne,” Baltasar didn’t even lift his eyelids. His house was already filled with various supplements during his illness, including ginseng, lingzhi, and deer antler. During the three days in Langstel, he had received dozens of expensive supplements, each worth millions. Renee’s ginseng couldn’t catch his attention.
“Miss Browne, I came to Langstel for two reasons. First, to collaborate with Horse Pharmaceutical and secure their overseas agency rights. Second, to seek Dr. Corin’s treatment for my stubborn illness. I have no interest in or intention to discuss other matters. Do you understand what I mean?” Baltasar stated.
His meeting with Renee was purely to show August some respect. Although he was not very courteous, Renee didn’t care.
She smiled, knowing how difficult Baltasar was, “I knew you wasn’t feeling well, so I brought a doctor with me.”
“Mr. Melendrez, this is Leo, a traditional medicine practitioner from Nameless Clinic. He is very skilled. Would you like him to take a look at you?”
She had noticed that Baltasar was not easy to deal with, so she hoped Leo’s medical skills could ease the situation.
“A traditional medicine practitioner?” Baltasar squinted at Leo. How could there be such a young medicine practitioner? He seemed untrustworthy. For Baltasar, except for renowned medicine practitioners like Dr. Lee and Dr. Rudolph, the rest were no different from swindlers.
Although he knew Renee wouldn’t randomly choose a doctor for him, Baltasar still coldly said, “No need. I have an appointment with Mr. Cunningham, and his team will cure me.”
Baltasar thought, even if Renee didn’t invite a top expert, she should have called an experienced doctor. What was the point of having a young guy like him treating him? This was a sign of not valuing Baltasar!
Baltasar silently decided to cancel all cooperation with Azure Financial.
