Although there was some distance between them, these two individuals gave Leo a sense of danger. When Leo approached, the red-haired woman directly asked, “Are you Leo?”
“That’s right.” Leo nodded. It was clear that these two were waiting for him. “Who are you?”
“After exterminating the Fiery Nine Guards and then becoming the honorary sect master of the Seven Stars Sword Sect, you single-handedly defeated the combined forces of the Fiery Blaze Sect, the Flood Dragon Gang, and the Lynd family. Quite powerful.” The redhead didn’t answer Leo’s question directly but briefly recounted Leo’s recent activities.
“You investigated me?” Leo’s expression darkened. Although these matters weren’t huge secrets, the fact that they had such detailed information raised suspicions in Leo’s mind. “Are you from WONDER?”
“Yes, I’m called Fire Rose.” The red-haired woman nodded.
“I’m Thunder Dragon, the team leader of Special Operations Group Three!” The burly man with silver eyes looked at Leo.
Leo directly asked, “What do you want with me?”
“We’re investigating the death of Patrick Gregory. Come with us,” Thunder Dragon asserted without room for doubt.
“What does Patrick’s death have to do with me?” Leo raised an eyebrow.
“Whether it has any connection or not, we’ll only know after the investigation. Let’s go.”
“I’m not going.” Leo’s gaze turned cold.
Leo’s response made Thunder Dragon’s expression solemn. Thunder arcs began to flicker around him, and the lightning in his eyes became deeper.
With a stomp on the ground, Thunder Dragon’s speed was incredibly swift, like a small tank rushing towards Leo.
In the blink of an eye, he arrived in front of Leo.
“So fast!” Leo’s expression changed.
Thunder Dragon’s speed was the fastest Leo had seen among everyone he encountered so far, and Leo didn’t expect him to attack so quickly.
Thunder Dragon’s fist, the size of a basin, surged with lightning, making a crackling sound as it stroke towards Leo.
“Golden Shield Technique, Guard!” Leo’s gaze sharpened. His fingers pinched together, and a faint golden shield materialized from within him, protecting him in front.
The fist, surrounded by thunderous light, crashed onto the faint golden shield. After a moment of deadlock, it shattered abruptly under Leo’s slightly astonished gaze.
Leo, with considerable combat experience by now, stepped back as he retreated, avoiding Thunder Dragon’s attack.
“Fire Dragon Technique! Release!” While Leo was retreating, he gestured with his fingertips, and spiritual energy surged out from within him.
In the half-space in front of him, a winding and swaying fire dragon formed instantly, raising the surrounding temperature.
Leo’s eyes became sharp, and he pointed his finger towards Thunder Dragon.
The fire dragon, exuding its majestic presence, descended towards Thunder Dragon.
“Thunderstorm Fist!” Thunder Dragon glanced at the fire dragon and uttered a low growl. On his right arm, lightning arcs surrounded it, displaying a powerful momentum.
Boom!
Thunder Dragon threw a punch at the fire dragon from a distance, a thunderous fist imprint accompanying the punch, shooting out explosively.
The thunderous fist imprint clashed head-on with the fire dragon, creating a tremendous sound. The fire dragon burst apart, transforming into a rain of fire that drifted down, while the thunderous fist imprint gradually faded away, dissipating into the air.
Leo’s expression slightly tightened; Thunder Dragon’s strength was formidable.
“Thunderous Light Sword!” Thunder Dragon glanced at Leo, stretched out his hand, and pure silver lightning emanated from his body, forming a lightning sword in his palm.
Leo observed, and his right hand made a gesture, summoning the Blue Phantom Sword from the Void Storage Talisman.
Thunder Dragon’s figure flashed, wielding the Thunderous Light Sword, slashing towards Leo. In an instant, the two engaged in combat.
On the mountain road, sword energy rippled. In just a few breaths, they’d exchanged over a dozen moves.
As a cultivator, Leo wasn’t proficient in close combat. Additionally, every time the Blue Phantom Sword clashed with the Thunderous Light Sword, a tingling sensation of electric shock ran through his arms.
Leo’s face turned serious. He tapped the ground with his toe, separating from Thunder Dragon.
“This guy is indeed formidable. Although Thunder Dragon didn’t go all out, being able to fight to this extent with him is commendable.” Fire Rose watched their battle, murmuring.
“Sword Art of Flight!” Leo retrieved the Blue Phantom Sword, formed a complex seal with both hands, and within the seal appeared a small sword gleaming with white radiance.
Leo lifted his hand, and the white radiance sword departed from his palm, rapidly elongating in the wind until it reached the size of an ordinary sword.
“Go!” Leo gave a low shout.
The sword of white radiance transformed into a stream of light, sharp and unmatched, shooting towards Thunder Dragon.
Facing the sword of white radiance, Thunder Dragon’s expression became more serious. Lightning flashed in his eyes, and invisible waves of energy surged. Around him, lightning coils like a thick snake, releasing thunderous light, hissing.
“Thunderous Light Serpent Shield!” Thunder Dragon shouted, and the serpent of lightning surrounding him swiftly converged in front of him, forming a shield of thunderous light. On the shield, there was an image of a lightning serpent.
Boom!
The soaring white radiance sword pierced straight into the Thunderous Light Serpent Shield. After a brief standoff, with a cracking sound, fissures appeared on the shield, spreading and showing signs of shattering.
“Not bad, quite a powerful attack.” Thunder Dragon’s gaze narrowed slightly.
His palm covered the back of the Thunderous Light Serpent Shield, and lightning energy gushed out, gathering on the shield. The previously cracked Thunderous Light Serpent Shield instantly restored, then erupted with a dazzling column of thunderous light, disintegrating the white radiance sword.
Leo’s pupils shrank; his attack could slay a high-level martial artist. This guy’s displayed strength was already not inferior to a high-level martial artist, and it seemed like he hadn’t gone all out.
After blocking Leo’s white radiance sword, Thunder Dragon withdrew the lightning power from the Thunderous Light Serpent Shield, ceasing the confrontation.
“It seems you’re not an esper.” Thunder Dragon’s expression returned to normal, and his faint silver eyes fall on Leo.
“Esper?” Leo furrowed his brows. He had only heard this term in novels or movies.
Fire Rose, who was lightly leaning on the car door nearby, explained, “Espers are people born with special abilities. Some can control fire naturally, some control water, while others can make plants grow rapidly. They are espers. Generally, only one in a million people can become an esper.”
“It seems both of you are espers.” Leo looked towards Fire Rose.
“That’s right. I’m a fire-type esper, and Thunder Dragon is a lightning-type esper.” Fire Rose nodded, extending her slender and fair hand. Above her hand, a fiery red flame appeared.
Leo wasn’t particularly surprised by this, as he had already encountered cultivators, ninjas, werewolves, and even ghosts.
