Despite Leo’s initial shock, he looked up at the gigantic monster before him, and the expression of terror on his face gradually subsided.
“Go back, or I’ll devour you!” The monster’s voice wasn’t very loud, but it buzzed in Leo’s ears.
Although its head was large, its mouth didn’t seem particularly big. However, when it opened, it expanded significantly, reaching the height of an adult. Its enormous teeth resembled spears, and flames roared within its throat.
Leo involuntarily took a step back. The stone pillars were narrow, and there was no retreat after that step.
Though it was an illusion, it concealed danger. The more fearful you were, the more susceptible you became.
No other choice!
Leo roared, gathering spiritual energy in his right hand. He threw a powerful punch at the monster’s lips, only to strike a thick layer of molten rock.
This enraged the monster. Its large mouth swiftly extended, ready to bite down.
Retreating meant getting caught in the monster’s jaws.
“I can’t retreat!” A lightning-fast thought flashed through Leo’s mind. With a sudden roar, he leaped into the air, executing a soaring kick, plunging directly into the monster’s enormous mouth.
Leo knew for sure this monster wasn’t real.
Sure enough, as soon as he entered the monster’s mouth, it disappeared instantly.
Leo found himself on the opposite cliff.
A smooth wall appeared in front of him.
As he approached, Leo saw it more clearly. The wall was incredibly smooth, reflecting a faint black glow. When he touched it, it felt warm and slick, made of an unknown material.
Unlike the rough and uneven rocks everywhere else, why was there such a smooth wall in this place?
Even more peculiar was the hand-shaped recess in the center of the wall, seemingly indicating something.
Soon, Leo understood. He extended his right hand, aligning it with the hand-shaped pattern in the recess.
The wall produced a subtle sound. The seemingly seamless wall slowly parted from the middle, and white light poured out from the gap, illuminating everything around Leo in a pale glow.
The wall opened about a meter, then stopped.
Leo walked into the gap, feeling as if his body were enveloped in water, incredibly comfortable. Soon after, he experienced a weightless sensation, as if he were floating, with a feeling of having lost his physical form, leaving only consciousness, intangible and formless.
As the white light vanished, the wall closed, and Leo disappeared with it.
Leo felt as though a considerable amount of time had passed, yet it also felt like an incredibly brief moment. A sense of nothingness gradually rose within him.
Opening his eyes, Leo saw the surroundings bathed in a soft light emitted by nebulae, seemingly close at hand yet also impossibly distant, only observable from afar.
Except for the luminous nebulae, everything else was an endless expanse of darkness – a darkness capable of swallowing everything.
At this moment, Leo neither stood on solid ground nor faced the sky. Astonishingly, he found himself situated within the boundless universe!
This left him without any sense of grounding, as he couldn’t feel any weight. His feet weren’t on solid ground but seemed to be floating, merging into the eternal whole. This instilled him with an infinite sense of dread.
So Leo tried to move forward. Although his feet were in motion, the surroundings remained identical, offering no reference points. He couldn’t tell whether he was walking or staying in place.
Just when he felt lost, a figure slowly appeared in front of him. The figure approached, and from the clothing, Leo recognized the person as Amaya.
Had Amaya also entered the illusionary restriction?
Amaya left him with a back view, prompting Leo to call out, “Amaya!”
Amaya seemed to hear Leo’s shout, slowly turning around.
Indeed, it was Amaya. She smiled at Leo, her long, ink-like hair making her look beautiful and enchanting.
“Amaya, how did you end up here?” Leo asked.
Amaya remained silent, just smiling at Leo. Then, she began to undress.
“What are you doing!?” Leo was startled, and he couldn’t help but rush forward.
Amaya took off her clothes, one piece at a time, until she was completely naked. A body crafted like white jade appeared before Leo, leaving him wide-eyed.
Amaya bit her lip, and with soul-stirring eyes, she blinked at him, extending her hand and beckoning to him.
Leo slowly approached, five meters… four meters… three meters…
Until one meter, Amaya opened her arms…
In the dim void, a purple light flashed, and a purple dagger pierced through Amaya’s body.
Amaya’s body, like tofu, split in half, with no blood spattering.
Amaya’s bisected body slowly disappeared in the void, and the entire illusion suddenly changed. Leo found himself back at the top of the cliff.
Suddenly, Leo felt a pain in his chest, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
Leo had underestimated the illusion; he had been injured at the moment of its dispelling.
Wiping the blood from his mouth, Leo, after obtaining Phoenix Gall and Goblin Essence, descended from the top of the cliff.
Just as Leo was preparing to leave, a group of people suddenly rushed down from the slope.
“Leo, you’re quite impressive. Dragon Whisker Grass, Phoenix Gall, and Goblin Essence, you’ve probably collected them, right?” Vincent appeared about six or seven meters away from Leo, speaking with a sinister tone.
While Vincent spoke, three of his henchmen had their gun barrels aimed at Leo, and another held Amaya as a hostage at the back.
Seeing Amaya, Leo was slightly stunned. As it turned out, this girl hadn’t secretly left to search for medicine but had been kidnapped by these people.
Noticing the bloodstains still on Leo’s mouth, Vincent’s heart settled, and he became even more smug. “Leo, it seems you got injured during the search for the medicine.”
“Now, I’ll give you a way out. Hand over the Dragon Whisker Grass, Phoenix Gall, and Goblin Essence, and I might consider sparing your life.”
“That day, I shouldn’t have spared your life!” Leo’s voice was as cold as the air in the midst of a harsh winter.
Vincent pretended to be tough, laughing coldly twice. “We part ways for three days, and the difference is clear. Now that you’re injured, I am even more powerful than before!”
Vincent took out a small bottle from his body and poured out a pill, putting it into his mouth.
The next moment, Vincent’s aura suddenly exploded. A powerful pressure emanated, even making Leo’s heart tense.
“Leo, I’ve already taken Oktrar Demon Lord’s elixir. At this moment, my combat power is a hundred times stronger than before. If you don’t hand over the spiritual medicines, then be prepared to die!”
Vincent’s face showed an extremely arrogant expression. Step by step, he approached Leo.
The effect of the elixir could last for two hours. Vincent was confident that he could kill Leo within that time.
