“Jennifer, Violet, extend your right hands,” Leo said.
Jennifer and Violet obediently extended their right hands.
Leo flicked the tips of their right index fingers, and a drop of crimson blood emerged from each of their fingertips.
“Drip your blood on the eggshell,” Leo instructed.
Following his instructions, Jennifer and Violet dripped their blood onto the eggshell of the Thunder Wing Beast’s egg.
“With blood as a guide, the blood pact is formed!” Leo withdrew his left hand while uttering a clear shout.
With a faint hum, the blood runes on the eggshell emitted a blood-red radiance. Shortly after, both the blood runes and the runes themselves disappeared into the eggshell.
At the same moment the runes vanished, Leo, Jennifer, and Violet all had a flash of lightning-like brilliance in their eyes.
At this moment, the consciousness and minds of the three individuals had established a connection with the yet-to-hatch Thunder Wing Beast.
“It’s incredible. I can clearly feel that the Thunder Wing Beast is eager to break free from the shell,” Violet exclaimed with astonishment and excitement.
Jennifer and Leo shared the same sensation. Inside the eggshell, the Thunder Wing Beast’s movements became more pronounced as it attempted to crack open the shell with its beak.
The lightning gloss on the eggshell increased, and the cracks on the shell multiplied.
Clapping her hands, Violet called out, “Leo, Jennifer, it’s about to hatch!”
At this point, the three could only watch as the Thunder Wing Beast broke free on its own. It was strictly forbidden to intervene, as assisting the creature in hatching could hinder its future growth.
Before long, a small hole was pecked open by the Thunder Wing Beast inside the eggshell, and a head resembling a fledgling bird emerged.
The tiny eyes on its head were already open. After staring blankly at Leo and the others for a moment, it resumed pecking at the eggshell.
The small hole on the eggshell’s surface gradually enlarged, and the Thunder Wing Beast hatchling wriggled out.
The newborn creature, still unsteady on its feet, wobbled its chubby body. After flapping its wings a couple of times, a pair of bright blue eyes gazed at Leo and the others.
At this moment, the small creature looked like a miniature version of a pterosaur from the dinosaur era.
With a bird-like head, a plump little body, four small fleshy wings, and a tiny tail, it appeared quite adorable.
“I didn’t expect the Thunder Wing Beast’s offspring to be so cute!” Violet became even more excited.
Seemingly sensing Violet’s excitement, the hatchling opened its mouth and emitted two strange calls, resembling a mix of bird and beast sounds.
As for the size of the Thunder Wing Beast hatchling, it was similar to that of a domestic pigeon. Its chubby body was covered with a layer of light silver-white fur.
Leo extended his palm and said, “Come here.”
The hatchling called out again, wriggling its body in an adorable manner as it slowly moved into Leo’s hands.
“Leo, let me hold it quickly!” Violet couldn’t resist calling out.
Leo then handed the hatchling over to Violet. With one hand supporting the little creature, Violet used her other hand to touch its tiny head and chubby body. The hatchling, telepathically connected, nudged Violet’s hand with its head, looking obedient and cute.
“Leo, it just hatched, so it must be hungry. What should we feed it?” Violet tilted her head and asked.
Leo took out a Vitality Pill from his pocket and offered it to the Thunder Wing Beast hatchling. Upon seeing the Vitality Pill, the hatchling’s bright blue eyes lit up. It flapped its wings, emitted two cries, and then stretched its neck to snatch the Vitality Pill from Leo’s hand, swallowing it eagerly.
After ingesting the Vitality Pill, the hatchling looked content, rubbing its small head against Leo’s right hand.
“Leo, let me play with it too. I want to feed it!” Violet eagerly expressed.
Leo then took out two more Vitality Pills and handed them to Violet and Jennifer. Both women enthusiastically fed one pill each to the Thunder Wing Beast hatchling.
If other martial cultivators were present, witnessing this scene would surely leave them dumbfounded. Feeding three Vitality Pills at once was an extravagant gesture.
After consuming the pills, the hatchling suddenly became less lively and displayed a drowsy appearance.
“Leo, what happened to it?” Violet asked with some concern.
“It ate too much,” Leo chuckled.
“Too much?” Violet, being smart, quickly grasped the situation. “I see, it seems we should feed it fewer Vitality Pills in the future.”
Leo nodded, saying, “It’s still in the fledgling stage. One Vitality Pill per day is sufficient. The growth rate of spirit beasts is quite rapid. In a month, it should be able to fly, and in half a year, it can carry people into the sky.”
“Really? I can’t wait!” Violet couldn’t help but imagine soaring in the sky on the back of the Thunder Wing Beast.
After Violet and Jennifer took the Thunder Wing Beast outside to play, Leo locked himself in the room. He planned to continue his cultivation, using spirit stones along with the Fragrance Divine Jade.
Continuing his cultivation until the afternoon, when leaving the Seven Stars Sword Sect, Leo handed a bottle of Vitality Pills to Jennifer. Using Vitality Pills as the Thunder Wing Beast’s food made it convenient, requiring only one pill per day. After reaching adulthood, the beast would forage for itself.
Early in the morning, Leo and Sophia, as usual, went for a jog towards Heaven’s Extreme Stone.
“Sophia, I’m going to leave Langstel for some time and won’t be able to pick you up and drop you off at work…” Leo whispered.
Amaya’s appearance hastened Leo’s plans to go to the Northern Desolation Mountains. On one hand, Leo had a strong intuition that following the map’s direction would lead him to the three medicinal herbs he sought. On the other hand, it was a precaution against unforeseen events.
Sophia was momentarily stunned and asked, “Are you leaving to treat someone far away?”
“It’s not for treatment.” Leo shook his head. “I’m going to the Northern Desolation Mountains to search for three medicinal herbs.”
“Searching for herbs?” Sophia didn’t quite understand. “Aren’t the herbs for your clinic provided by designated suppliers?”
“The three herbs I’m looking for are very special and not available in the market,” Leo explained.
Worry appeared on Sophia’s face. “I’ve heard that the Northern Desolation Mountains are dangerous. Do you have to go?”
“Yes, those three herbs are crucial for me, and only the Northern Desolation Mountains have them.”
“Then I’ll go with you!”
Leo directly opposed, “No, you know my abilities. If there’s any danger, I can handle it alone. Besides, the company needs you; I’m sure Bruno and the others will come to you soon.”
Sophia understood Leo; once he decided on something, he rarely changed his mind. “Then go and come back quickly. Don’t be reckless if you encounter danger, understand?”
“Rest assured, after finding those three herbs, I’ll come back immediately.” Leo promised.
