Finding the Romantic Restaurant, the two walked in together. Just as the waiter was about to inquire about their preferences, they noticed Karen waving from a window-side table. The waiter tactfully led them to Karen’s location.
Karen stood up, warmly pulling Sophia to sit beside her. “Darling, it’s been a while. I’ve missed you so much.”
Karen teased Sophia first, then her gaze shifted to Leo. Somehow, even though she knew Leo was coming, seeing him in person made Karen feel her heart involuntarily accelerate.
Ever since Karen learned that her piano dream man was Leo, she transferred her deep infatuation from her dream to Leo. Although she knew a romantic involvement was impossible, her emotions still lingered.
If you were to ask Karen what kind of love she admired the most at this moment, she would unhesitatingly say she envied the love between Leo and Sophia.
“Karen, has Amaya arrived yet?” Sophia checked the time and asked Karen.
Karen nodded. “Don’t worry; she should be here soon.”
Karen then playfully looked at Leo and said, “Leo, don’t lose your composure when you see a beauty later.”
“You and Sophia are already beautiful. Is there a more beautiful woman than you two?” Leo smiled and asked playfully.
Karen looked at Sophia with a mischievous look and asked, “Sophia, who do you think is more beautiful between you and Amaya?”
Sophia replied solemnly, “I think you’re the most beautiful.”
“Sophia, even though I know you’re not telling the truth, I love hearing that. Haha.” Karen laughed happily.
Suddenly, Karen’s laughter stopped, and she waved her hand, saying, “Amaya, over here.”
Leo followed Karen’s gaze and saw a girl with a ponytail walking in from outside the restaurant. The ponytailed girl wore a white shirt on the upper body and paired it with casual pants on the lower body, giving off a youthful and lively vibe from afar.
After Karen and Sophia welcomed the girl, Leo noticed that she wore thick glasses on the bridge of her nose, the kind of heavy prescription glasses.
It was these glasses that disrupted the overall beauty of the girl.
The three close friends chatted for a while, and Karen, pointing at Leo, introduced, “Amaya, this is Sophia’s husband, Leo.”
Amaya generously extended her right hand to Leo. “Hello, I’m Amaya.”
Leo noticed that Amaya still had braces on her teeth.
Leo shook hands with Amaya.
From a man’s perspective, Leo considered Amaya to be, at best, ordinary in terms of appearance and looks. He couldn’t understand why Karen and Sophia both claimed she was very pretty. Could it be that men and women have different standards for beauty?
Or perhaps, Sophia and Karen had a deviated definition of beauty from the worldly norm?
After shaking hands with Leo, Amaya joined Sophia and Karen in lively conversation.
As Karen mentioned earlier, Leo essentially became a decoration, unable to get a word in edgewise.
“Amaya, the cuisine abroad is quite different from here in the country. You’ve probably had little chance to enjoy Atraria dishes these past years. This restaurant serves authentic cuisine. You should give it a try later,” Karen said with a smile.
Amaya replied, “Nowadays, many Atraria people have settled abroad or are doing business, so it’s possible to find Atraria cuisine even outside of Atraria.”
“Right, we Atrarians are now spread all over the world,” Karen nodded, then asked, “Amaya, you won’t be leaving after just over a week this time, will you?”
Amaya shook her head, “This time, I might stay in Langstel for a while.”
“That’s great! The three of us can enjoy ourselves again,” Karen, who loved to play and especially with her best friends, seemed very happy.
However, Amaya sighed and said, “The reason I’ll be staying in Langstel for a while this time is because there’s some work that needs to be taken care of. I’m afraid I won’t have much time to play.”
Sophia added, “Amaya, during your time in Langstel, whether it’s work or life, if there’s anything you need help with from me and Karen, just ask. Our sisterhood will never change.”
“Okay, thank you both, my dear friends,” Amaya smiled.
When Amaya smiled, the first thing that appeared wasn’t her teeth but her braces, catching Leo’s eye and making him feel a bit uneasy.
Karen not only loved to play but was also a foodie. Combined with her knowledge of Sophia and Amaya’s tastes, she was the one who ordered all the dishes.
After the delicious food was served, Karen exclaimed, “Amaya, the dishes I ordered are basically our three favorite dishes. Give them a try.”
Amaya felt a bit touched by Karen’s warmth and enthusiasm. “Karen, after all these years, you still remember what I like to eat…”
“Naturally. In my opinion, being human, enjoying good food is a big pleasure,” Karen said in a foodie’s tone.
“Karen, even though enjoying good food is a pleasure, as a woman, you still need to learn to control your diet,” Sophia laughed.
Karen chuckled, “Amaya, if I remember correctly, among the three of us, you ranked first on the foodie list. Are you sure you didn’t misspeak?”
“Being a foodie in the past doesn’t mean I’m still one now. Now, the person I envy the most is Sophia,” Amaya suddenly shifted the topic to Sophia.
Sophia couldn’t help but be surprised, pointing to herself and asking, “Envy me? I’m still the same. What is there to envy?”
Amaya looked at Leo, then back at Sophia, and said, “I envy that you entered the sacred bond of marriage and gained happiness.”
“Agreed! Sophia and Leo, harmony in marriage, a blissful life,” Karen said, then suddenly exclaimed, “Speaking of this, I feel like Sophia has changed.”
“What has changed?” Sophia asked in surprise.
Karen pretended to be wronged, “She’s become someone who prioritizes love over friendship. Before, she would occasionally call me to hang out, but now, she rarely even calls me.”
“Karen, don’t talk nonsense. That’s because I’m busy with work, not prioritizing love over friendship,” Sophia defended.
Amaya took the opportunity to tease, “Karen, as a single lady, you have to learn to live a solitary life, you know?”
“Amaya, I may be a single lady, but let me weakly ask, do you happen to have a boyfriend?” Karen’s face was filled with the word “gossip”.
