Leo glanced at the documents and handed them back to Rosemary. When it came to business matters, he was essentially clueless. Dorothy continued, “Boss Fanny, the city government called, saying that the mayor attaches great importance to our company’s project. The mayor is passing by our company today and intends to come to understand the situation. What do you think?”
“When will he arrive?” Rosemary’s tone became somewhat excited. If the mayor of Langstel visited the company, it would definitely be a huge boon for the company’s future development.
“In about twenty minutes,” Dorothy replied.
“Then you should quickly prepare,” Rosemary instructed.
Leo checked the time, stood up from the sofa, and said to Rosemary, “Since the mayor is coming, you should entertain him well. I’ll head back first.”
Rosemary hurriedly stood up, saying, “You can’t leave. Don’t forget, you’re a major shareholder now. When the mayor arrives, you need to welcome him with me and strive to gain more policy support from the city government.”
Rosemary clearly remembered the scene where the mayor personally invited Leo to propose a toast at the last exchange meeting.
Twenty minutes later, Ronald indeed arrived, accompanied by a municipal secretary.
“Dr. Bloomer, you’re here too,” Ronald said, slightly surprised to see Leo.
Rosemary smiled and said, “Mayor Timothy, Dr. Bloomer is now the largest shareholder of my company. The new cosmetic formula developed by our company is provided by Dr. Bloomer.”
“I see, no wonder the trial products have such miraculous effects,” Ronald looked at Leo with admiration in his eyes.
In the office, the secretary prepared tea, and the group chatted on the sofa.
In the course of the conversation, it was mostly Ronald asking and Rosemary responding.
Before long, Dorothy hurriedly walked to the office door with an anxious look and knocked.
Rosemary gestured for her to come in.
After Dorothy entered, she whispered to Rosemary, “Boss Fanny, someone suddenly came to the company, claiming to be the sales manager of Horse Cosmetics, and wants to be the agent for our company’s latest cosmetics.”
“Didn’t you see that I was talking to Mayor Timothy? Such a small matter, arrange for Fergus to deal with it,” Rosemary expressed her dissatisfaction.
This secretary, Dorothy, really was something, bothering her with such trivial matters.
Dorothy’s expression became troubled. “Boss Fanny, this person’s request is quite…”
“Quite what?” Rosemary frowned, her voice becoming serious.
“Boss Fanny, that guy insists on meeting you in a big fuss. Fergus can’t handle it. What should we do?”
Who dared to cause trouble in her company? With the mayor here, if it wasn’t handled well, it would affect the company’s image.
Rosemary had no choice but to stand up from the guest sofa, apologizing to Ronald, “Mayor Timothy, I’m truly sorry. Please wait for a moment. I need to deal with a customer.”
Ronald smiled, unconcerned. “It’s no trouble. You go ahead and handle your business.”
From Dorothy’s tone, Leo discerned that the visitor was unwelcome. Therefore, after greeting Ronald, he followed Rosemary out of the office.
In the adjacent office next to the meeting room, a man in his thirties, with an ordinary appearance, was sitting.
The man had one leg crossed over the other, wearing an expensive suit and a Rolex on his wrist.
Seeing Rosemary come in, the man stood up from the sofa and extended his right hand to her. “Boss Fanny, hello, I’m Percival, the sales manager of Horse Cosmetics.”
Rosemary shook Percival’s hand briefly and asked with a frown, “Mr. Percival, according to my secretary, you not only want to become the exclusive agent for my company, but you also have special profit requirements?”
Percival sat back on the sofa, crossed his legs, and leisurely said, “That’s right. I came to your company for two things today. One is to become the exclusive agent for your company, and the other is about the distribution of sales profits.”
“Mr. Percival, the existing 20-80 profit distribution plan is already quite reasonable. It’s the same for all our agents,” Rosemary patiently stated.
“It’s not reasonable, it’s quite unreasonable,” Percival shook his head. “I believe a 30-70 split is the most scientific.”
“A 30-70 split? That’s impossible,” Rosemary firmly rejected.
Percival’s face displayed a malicious smile. He took out a cigarette, lit it, and looked at Rosemary with narrowed, suggestive eyes. “Boss Fanny, I think you’ve misunderstood. When I say 30-70, it’s not me getting 30 and you getting 70, it’s me getting 70 and you getting 30.”
Rosemary’s expression changed. This guy was clearly here to cause trouble. Just as she was about to reprimand him, Leo preempted, “Mr. Percival, I don’t think what you just said is appropriate.”
“Who the hell are you cursing at!?” Percival sprang up from the sofa, pointing angrily at Leo. “Boss Fanny, the people in your company have such low quality. I advise you to fire him right away!”
Rosemary’s expression turned icy. “Mr. Percival, the person beside me is the major shareholder of my company, the owner of Leo & Rose Cosmetics. What he says is equivalent to what I say.”
“Humph, you people at Leo I came to inform you of my demands. You don’t have the right to refuse, only the obligation to agree!”
“There’s a saying, ‘You can’t get blood out of a stone.’ Mr. Percival, are you really such a person?” Leo had never met someone so self-righteous.
“You little brat, you better watch your mouth! Do you know who I am?”
“I only know you’re a dog.”
“Damn, do you even know who my father is? He’s Rafe Johnson, the director of the Drug Administration!”
Leo deliberately made a frightened expression and said, “Mr. Percival, I didn’t realize your father had such great power. You really frightened me. In that case, why are you here to discuss cooperation? You might as well just come for extortion.”
Percival sneered, “Extortion sounds so harsh. We are civilized people, naturally we conduct business in a civilized manner.”
Percival sat back on the sofa arrogantly, made a casual smoking gesture, and said, “That’s all I have to say. Think about it carefully. Do you want to shut down, or do you want 30% of the profits?”
In the adjacent meeting room, Ronald had heard every word of their conversation and his expression fluctuated. He turned to the secretary beside him and asked, “Is this Percival really Rafe’s son?”
