Carter’s family background might not match Rodney’s, but within the second-generation circle, he still had some reputation. Rarely did anyone dare to disregard him. Seeing Leo’s continued indifference, Carter became furious.
“Mate, since you’re asking for trouble, I won’t be polite. Bodyguards, come over and throw this kid into the restroom!” Carter ordered the two burly men behind him.
The two bodyguards responded and approached Leo. In their eyes, young people like Leo who lacked understanding were as fragile as a chick, easily crushed with a single finger.
With a nod, Carter instructed them to deal with Leo. Nearby onlookers looked at Leo with pity. These three young men and the bodyguards following them clearly weren’t ordinary people.
“Cough, Carter, forget it. Many people are watching,” Rodney lightly coughed, waved his hand, and stopped the two bodyguards. It seemed like he was maintaining some dignity.
Rodney might be wealthy and influential, but in the age of advanced technology, if a video of him bullying an ordinary person spread online, it wouldn’t look good when he got back home. As long as he could show off his strength to the beauty beside him, that was enough. Actually throwing Leo into the restroom might seem unreasonable in the eyes of the beauty.
“Fine, since Master White has spoken, I’ll let you off easy. Here’s five hundred bucks. Take it and leave.” Carter pointed to Leo. Although he wanted to mess with Leo, he couldn’t disrespect Pang Shao’s face.
Taking out his wallet, Carter took out five hundred dollars, handed it to Leo, and maintained an arrogant expression.
“Huh, trying to act rich with five hundred bucks?” Leo glanced at Carter, revealing a hint of undisguised disdain in his words.
Leo didn’t bother to look at the offered five hundred dollars, ignored Carter, and continued playing his game.
“You…!” Upon hearing Leo’s words, Carter almost spat out blood. This was the first time in his life someone had spoken to him with such disdain, accusing him of acting rich with five hundred bucks and blatantly ignoring him.
Carter gritted his teeth, stared at Leo with an intense gaze, and now had an impulse to smash this kid if he had enough cash.
“Two thousand, get a clear look!” Carter took out another stack of bills from his wallet, sneered, and said, “Two thousand for a seat?”
“Oh my, if it were me, I’d just take the money and leave.”
“Having money is awesome. You can pick whoever you want to mess with!”
Nearby spectators, who initially sympathized with Leo, now envied him. Sitting next to a beautiful woman and earning two thousand bucks for free, it was indeed delightful.
“Two thousand? You really think I’m a pauper. I thought it was two hundred thousand.” Leo disdainfully smiled, once again ignoring Carter, as if the game in his hands was more important than two thousand bucks.
“You’re asking for death!” Carter, furious, in his position, being called a pauper in front of everyone was a blatant insult.
Rodney frowned on the side. He hadn’t expected this kid to be so audacious, demanding two thousand bucks for a seat.
“Carter, step back,” Rodney said to the enraged Carter.
Carter, who was usually under Rodney’s command, gave Leo a fierce glare and reluctantly moved aside.
“Mate, since you’re interested in this seat I bought, name your price,” Rodney asked politely with a gentle smile, displaying a gentlemanly demeanor.
“At least Master White knows how to behave, unlike some people,” Leo glanced at Carter dismissively, his tone nonchalant.
This look immediately fueled Carter’s anger. If it weren’t for Master White’s presence, he would have ordered his men to throw Leo out of the waiting area long ago.
“Since you’re so sincere about buying my seat, I won’t overcharge you. How about this, give you a discount, one hundred thousand, and the seat is yours,” Leo said seriously, looking at Rodney.
Madame glanced at Leo in surprise. It was like he was holding a twenty-meter-long big knife, ready to extort money.
“One hundred thousand?! Kid, are you out of your mind!” Carter erupted, unable to contain his anger.
While a hundred thousand wasn’t a significant sum for him, selling a seat for that amount, especially when the flight was about to board, seemed like outright extortion. This poor kid seemed to have gone mad with greed.
“Judging by your appearance, you should be wealthy. Why, can’t afford a hundred thousand?” Leo sneered.
Rodney and the others’ faces immediately darkened.
“Since you can’t afford my seat, stay out of the way and stop bothering me while I play my game,” Leo waved his hand, shooing away the group like one would shoo away flies.
These second-generation rich kids not only delayed his flight but also tried to snatch his seat. Leo couldn’t help feeling irritated.
“One hundred thousand, sitting next to a beauty. It’s a good deal,” Rodney’s expression darkened for a moment, then he smiled faintly.
Efficiently, he pulled out a checkbook from his pocket, swiftly wrote a check for a hundred thousand, tore it off, and handed it to Leo.
Leo paused his game, a faint smile playing on his lips as he accepted the check, casually slipping it into his pocket.
“Since Master White is so generous, I’ll sell you this seat,” Leo stood up, patted the seat, and chuckled.
Rodney nodded and took the seat. He hadn’t even settled in when a sweet voice came over the loudspeaker: “Dear passengers, the flight is about to depart. Please gather your belongings and proceed to the boarding gate.”
Hearing this announcement, Rodney and his companions’ faces turned grim.
Damn it, they had just spent a hundred thousand on a seat, and before they could even settle in, it was time to board.
However, it wasn’t the airline’s fault; they must have noticed that Rodney and the others had already passed through security, so they began the boarding process.
“Let’s go, Madame Godwin. Tickets will be checked. I’ll treat you to dinner when we arrive,” Leo said to Madame Godwin.
Madame Godwin nodded, slinging her bag over her shoulder, and walked with Leo towards the boarding gate.
Madame Godwin’s departure left Rodney with an urge to curse loudly. He had just wasted a hundred thousand, the beauty was gone, and he hadn’t even had the chance to strike up a conversation.
“Master White, that kid is too arrogant, daring to mess with even us,” Carter said, his eyes glaring at Leo’s retreating figure.
“Master White, should we leave that kid here in the waiting area?” the guy with the earring suggested with a menacing tone.
“No rush. That bastard is headed to the capital. It is our territory. Once we arrive, we can deal with him however we want,” Rodney said coldly.
