From the surveillance footage, it was clear that Sophia had indeed been kidnapped by two masked men. The final frame froze at the exit of the underground garage, where a van with a concealed license plate was parked.
After reviewing the surveillance, Lee Hemingway’s gaze fell on the head of security, and he angrily exclaimed, “What are you people doing? The hotel has such a big incident, and you didn’t even know about it!?”
“Mr. Hemingway, there was an inside man in the hotel working for the kidnappers, so…” The security captain’s expression was awkward and miserable.
An inside man?
No wonder the kidnappers could enter and exit the hotel so easily.
“Who is the inside man?” Lee Hemingway’s tone turned ice-cold.
The security captain quickly replied, “A hotel staff member. We’ve already detained him. According to his confession, he didn’t know the kidnappers; he just took their money to assist them. He has no idea where Miss Henley was taken.”
Lee Hemingway waved his hand, “You can go now. You know how to handle the mole.”
After the security captain left, Lee Hemingway looked at Leo and said, “Mr. Bloomer, don’t worry too much. Miss Henley has her own guardian angel. I’ve dispatched all my men. As long as Miss Henley is still in Green Spring, we’ll get news of her soon.”
As soon as Lee Hemingway finished speaking, his phone rang.
After answering the call, a slight smile appeared on Lee Hemingway’s face as he said to Leo, “Mr. Bloomer, we have news of Miss Henley!”
“Where is she?”
“At Soaring Dragon Garden on South Mountain Road!”
“Take me there quickly!”
In the car, Lee Hemingway explained to Leo that although the place was named “Garden,” it was actually a cemetery.
To be more specific, it was an abandoned cemetery with many tunnels left over from the war, creating a complex terrain.
So finding someone inside was not easy.
Leo increased the speed of the car, determined to find Sophia, no matter how difficult it was.
For Leo, since his grandmother’s passing, Sophia had become the most important person in his life.
At this moment, somewhere in Soaring Dragon Garden, in a dark underground cave.
Sophia, who had regained consciousness, struggled a bit and found that her hands and feet were tied, and her mouth was taped shut.
For Sophia, being kidnapped was nothing new, so she didn’t panic.
She slowly moved her body to sit up from the ground. Although she couldn’t see the surroundings clearly, she could listen carefully with her ears.
As Sophia contemplated where she was and who had kidnapped her, a man’s voice echoed in her ears. “Arno, is Mignon coming or not?”
“Of course, be patient, wait a little longer.”
“Arno, you really don’t have to say it. This woman is really beautiful. I’ve been around for so long, and it’s the first time I’ve seen such a beautiful woman.”
“Cedric, this girl belongs to Mignon. Don’t even think about it, or your life won’t be guaranteed,” Arno reminded.
“Look at you. I’m just talking, Mignon has his eyes on her, and I dare not make a move,” Cedric said with an embarrassed smile.
Outside, somewhere in Soaring Dragon Garden, Leo slammed on the brakes, unfastened his seatbelt, and got out of the car.
Lee Hemingway also got out of the car. A man who had called Lee Hemingway earlier hurriedly approached.
“Mr. Hemingway, you’ve arrived.” The man said respectfully.
Lee Hemingway nodded and asked, “Where is Miss Henley?”
The man pointed ahead and said, “Not far in the cypress grove, there’s a cave where Miss Henley is likely being held.”
Leo, impatient as ever, didn’t want to wait a second longer. He directly told the man, “Take me there.”
The man nodded and said, “Follow me.”
As they walked towards the cypress grove, Lee Hemingway offered reassurance, “Mr. Bloomer, this man, Ben, is a local expert. As long as Miss Henley is here, no matter how complex the terrain, he has the ability to find her.”
Anxious Leo simply nodded and briskly followed Ben.
Entering the cypress grove and traversing for a while, a pitch-black cave appeared in front of them.
Ben pointed, “This should be it. Once inside, make sure to stay close to me, or you might get lost.”
Having said that, Ben led the way inside.
Leo followed closely, and Lee Hemingway walked at the rear.
Ben, the “professional,” had illuminating tools with him. After a series of twists and turns, Leo and Lee Hemingway understood why Ben had warned them about the possibility of getting lost outside.
This underground cave was like a maze, and anyone entering without knowledge of the entrance and exit would likely get trapped.
Leo quickly understood the intricacies of this underground cave. If he wasn’t mistaken, this place had been designed by a Feng Shui master.
More than ten minutes later, in the dim corridor, a man’s stern voice suddenly echoed, “Who are you people? Get out quickly; this is not the place for you!”
As the words fell, illuminated by Ben’s light, three men appeared in front of them.
Leo recognized them at a glance. These three men were Mignon’s henchmen, undoubtedly involved in Sophia’s kidnapping.
Leo took a few steps forward, his gaze icy as he asked, “Where is my wife?”
As the three men saw Leo clearly, fear appeared on their faces, and they retreated a few steps.
One of the men, feeling they seemed a bit weak, gathered some courage and said, “Living off a woman, if there’s a way to heaven, you won’t take it; if there’s no way to hell, you’ll barge in. You’re doomed today!”
Leo smiled coldly, moved forward, and a series of screams followed.
After dealing with the three men, Leo didn’t want to waste any more time; he continued walking in.
However, after about five or six meters, Leo stopped again.
Another person appeared in front of them. This person, with an invisible aura, made Leo squint his eyes involuntarily.
While Leo assessed this person, the person was also sizing up Leo.
This person was none other than Black Dragon, the one Mignon had tearfully pleaded with.
“Are you Leo?” Black Dragon asked in a deep voice.
“Yes,” Leo replied, neither cold nor warm.
“You beat up Mignon?” Black Dragon continued.
“Yes,” Leo replied with just one word.
Black Dragon’s muscles all over his body surged, producing a series of strange sounds.
Leo’s gaze slightly narrowed, thinking that this guy had some serious external martial arts skills.
Black Dragon’s voice became full of killing intent, “Leo, you beat up Mignon. I promise to avenge him. Whether you can leave here alive today, ask my fists first.”
With that, Black Dragon’s entire body burst with energy, stepping forward, and a punch headed for Leo’s face.
